Out of the theater reaction:
In his new movie, “Shoplifters”, Hirokazu Kore-eda (director) portrays an atypical Japanese family struggling to live by stealing in the noblest possible way, in order to survive, until the day they decide to take in a little girl emotionally abandoned. In Ozu’s tradition, Hirokazu Kore-eda accurately captures a misery we can only love. Between tears and laughter, this film moved us like the Previous Golden Palms. A must see!
