En quelques mots :
Malheureusement sorti directement en streaming (en France seulement !) neuf ans après un premier film particulièrement original dans le monde des thrillers d’action, « Mr. Wolff 2 » s’impose comme une excellente suite qui poursuit extrêmement bien le style complet et divertissant du premier. Le film offre à la fois des moments drôles (speed dating), des moments géniaux (bar dansant), et des moments d’action où l’intensité des affrontements a été renforcée, sans oublier évidemment une enquête complexe tout du long. Mais c’est surtout la superbe relation entre les personnages de Ben Affleck et Jon Bernthal qui a été approfondie dans ce second volet. Un poil plus classique dans sa structure avec une intrigue (de fond) qui aurait pu être un peu plus poussée, ce second film conserve ses dialogues et personnages de qualités. Peut-être juste un peu moins riche en termes sociaux et financiers, « Mr. Wolff 2 » ajoute plus d’humour et de complicité décalée entre les deux frères ce qui change légèrement l’ambiance mais fonctionne tout autant. En somme, c’est une très bonne suite et un thriller d’action bien construit qui réussit globalement tout ce qu’il fait !

Nine years after a particularly original first installment in the world of action thrillers, “The Accountant 2” stands out as an excellent sequel that carries on extremely well the extensive and entertaining style of the first one. The film offers both funny moments (speed dating), fantastic moments (dance bar), and action-packed scenes where the intensity of the combat has been heightened, as well as, of course, a complex investigation all the way through. But above all, it’s the wonderful relationship between Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal’s characters that has been further developed in this second installment. A bit more conventional in its structure, with a (background) plot that could have been fleshed out a little further, this second film manages to retain its quality dialogue and characters. Perhaps just a little less rich in the social and financial dimensions, “The Accountant 2” adds more humor and offbeat banter between the two brothers, which slightly alters the vibe but works just as well. All in all, this is a very good sequel and a well-crafted action thriller that succeeds overall in everything it delivers!
