L’acteur italien Pierfrancesco Favino (Le Traître ; Nostalgia) interprète avec charisme et dignité un policier milanais que tout le monde connaît comme un honnête homme, qui n’a jamais tiré sur personne et qui prendra sa retraite après cette dernière nuit. Celle-ci sera pourtant plus éprouvante que prévu et mettra en danger tout ce qui compte pour lui, à commencer par son travail, son amour, ses amitiés, jusqu’à sa propre vie ! Le réalisateur Andrea di Stefano reprend ainsi les codes du polar dans une trame assez classique mais efficace et un montage rafraîchissant. Il signe un thriller policier nocturne et nerveux à l’image de son générique d’ouverture, qui réussit très bien ce qu’il entreprend – en maintenant un suspense et une tension constante – mais qui manque quelque peu de profondeur, aussi bien dans l’intrigue que dans le développement des personnages.

In brief:
Italian actor Pierfrancesco Favino (The Traitor; Nostalgia) portrays with charisma and dignity a Milanese policeman whom everyone knows as an honest man, who has never shot anyone and who will be retiring after this last night. However, this night will turn out to be more exhausting than expected, jeopardizing everything he holds dear, his job, his love, his friendships and even his own life! Director Andrea di Stefano takes up the codes of the crime thriller with a fairly conventional but efficient narrative and refreshing editing. He delivers an intense, nocturnal cop thriller reflecting the opening credits, which nails what it sets out to do – keeping up the suspense and tension – but lacks depth in both plot and character development.
L’attore italiano Pierfrancesco Favino (Il Traditore; Nostalgia) interpreta con carisma e dignità un poliziotto milanese che ognuno conosce come un onesto uomo, che non ha mai sparato su nessuno e che andrà in pensione dopo quest’ultima notte. Essa sarà pure più difficile che previsto e metterà in pericolo tutto ciò che conta per lui, dal proprio lavoro al suo amore, le sue amicizie, fino alla propria vita! Il regista Andrea di Stefano riprende così i codici del polar in una trama abbastanza classica ma efficace ed un montaggio raffrescante. Firma un thriller poliziesco notturno ed intenso nella continuità dei titoli di testa, che riesce benissimo ciò che intraprende – mantenendo una suspense e una tensione costante – che manca però un poco di profondezza, tanto nell’intreccio quanto nello sviluppo dei protagonisti.
