En quelques mots :
Après avoir enchaîné les films de piètre qualité, Mark Wahlberg réussit une comédie sans prétention dans laquelle il incarne un père de famille, casé, avec femme, enfants (déjà trois), et job stable bien anonyme jusqu’à ce que son passé de tueur à gages international ne le rattrape et ne menace sa famille et sa vie bien parfaite construite sur un beau mensonge. Distribué par Apple TV+, cette comédie d’action américaine reprend un scénario à la « True Lies » ou « La Totale » dans un ton léger qui joue sur l’anticipation de la révélation et le revirement en mode ‘Terminator’ d’un père de famille à première vue lambda. Et bien que le film ne développe pas une intrigue très profonde, celle-ci reste cohérente et efficace et joue sur de grandes tendances de la jeunesse actuelle. Un film de plateforme et de formule, oui, mais un bon divertissement comique – grâce à l’alchimie familiale (avec Michelle Monaghan) et un bon montage – à regarder en vacances.

After a run of mediocre films, Mark Wahlberg succeeds in an unpretentious comedy in which he plays a family man, settled down, with wife, children (already three) and a stable, anonymous job, until his past as an international hitman finally catches up with him and threatens his family and his perfect life built on a beautiful lie. Distributed by Apple TV+, this American action-comedy takes a “True Lies”- or “La Totale”-style script and plays with the anticipation of the revelation and the Terminator-style reversal of a seemingly ordinary family man. And although the movie doesn’t go very deep into the plot, it remains coherent and convincing, and plays on major trends in today’s youth. A streaming and formulaic film, yes, but a good funny entertainment – thanks to the family chemistry (with Michelle Monaghan) and good editing – to watch on vacation.
