“This is the way!”
La première saison de « The Mandalorian », la première série Star Wars en prise de vues réelles, est terminée… et vivement la saison 2 ! Le Chapitre 8 intitulé « Rédemption » est sorti hier et il conclut en beauté cette superbe nouvelle série.
La saison une débuta très fort avec un arc de trois épisodes centrés sur le sauvetage de « l’enfant », puis les trois épisodes suivants nous ont fait vivre le quotidien du Mando, ce sont des épisodes intermédiaires allant de la protection d’un village dans le style « Sept Samourais », au retour très nostalgique sur Tatooine, et à la formation d’une équipe de mercenaires pour faire un coup contre la Nouvelle République. Les deux épisodes finaux sont une véritable conclusion de saison, la problématique de « l’enfant » étant résolue et les questions soulevées dans la saison sur l’identité du Mando, levées. Cet épisode est particulièrement bien écrit, il introduit un nouveau méchant au lourd passé dans l’univers Star Wars en lien avec les séries animées « The Clone Wars » et « Star Wars Rebels » et boucle la boucle avec un nouveau père, un sauvetage/renaissance grâce à un droïde et enfin une nouvelle identité pour notre personnage principal qui se voit attribuer un insigne, dont on découvre le nom et qui se découvre une nouvelle famille et un nouveau but.
Si le chapitre 5 m’a semblé globalement un peu plus faible, il n’en est pas moins appréciable et son tease final promet de belles choses pour la suite, tout comme le dernier plan du chapitre 8 avec le Moff Gideon et un certain objet très important et symbolique dans les séries précédentes. Cela promet une intrigue très intéressante en saison 2 et profondément liée au reste de l’univers ce qui est d’autant plus agréable pour tous les fans.
Globalement, cette première saison de « The Mandalorian » nous fait passer un excellent moment dans cet univers, innove par rapport aux schémas et aux histoires que nous avons l’habitude de voir et promet d’explorer encore plus l’univers notamment en ce qui concerne une espèce très mystérieuse …

“This is the way!”
The first season of « The Mandalorian », first Star Wars series in live-action, is over… and we can’t wait for season 2! Chapter 8 entitled « Redemption » was released yesterday and it beautifully wraps up this amazing new series.
Season one started very strong with an arc of three episodes centered on the rescue of « the child », then the three following episodes took us through the daily life of the Mando, they are intermediate episodes going from the protection of a village in the style of « Seven Samurai », to the very nostalgic return to Tatooine, and the formation of a team of mercenaries to make a sting against the New Republic. The two final episodes are a true conclusion of the season, the problem of the « child » being solved and the questions raised during the season on the identity of the Mando, lifted. This episode is particularly well written, it introduces a new villain with a heavy past in the Star Wars universe in connection with the animated series « The Clone Wars » and « Star Wars Rebels » and closes the loop with a new father, a rescue/rebirth thanks to a droid and finally a new identity for our main character who is given an insignia, whose name is revealed and who discovers a new family and a new goal.
If chapter 5 seemed a bit weaker overall, it is nonetheless enjoyable and its final tease promises nice things for what’s to come, just like the last shot of chapter 8 with Moff Gideon and a very important and symbolic object from the previous series. It promises a very interesting plot in season 2 and deeply linked to the rest of the universe which is all the more pleasant for all fans.
All in all, this first season of « The Mandalorian » gives us a great time in this universe, innovates compared to the patterns and stories we are used to see and promises to explore the universe even more, especially regarding a very mysterious species…
