En quelques mots :
« Matriochka is a doll, a russian doll! Anna est une femme aux multiples visages, c’est une femme à l’intérieur d’une femme ». C’est ainsi que se présente le nouveau film de Luc Besson, mystérieux et discret. Après deux ans de tournage, le réalisateur revient dans un style qu’il maîtrise. C’est donc sur fond de guerre froide que l’on retrouve un casting somptueux avec Sasha Luss qui pour son premier rôle principal au cinéma se révèle être une véritable et agréable surprise. À ses côtés, un trio somptueux composé de Helen Mirren, Luke Evans et Cillian Murphy. Sans jamais sortir du cliché, le film parvient tout de même à surprendre grâce à un montage efficace et à une temporalité maîtrisée. Effectivement c’est par son aspect non linéaire que le film se révèle intéressant. Sans se vouloir complexe, la narration séduit et dévoile un scénario travaillé ou les relations et les dialogues altèrent le récit. Enfin, Le film se distingue également par des scènes d’action parfaitement chorégraphiées, propre à la mise en scène du réalisateur français. Cependant, le film ne paraît pas abouti contrairement au similaire « Red Sparrow » avec Jennifer Lawrence qui nous entraîne dans un thriller plus sombre.

“Matriochka is a doll, a Russian doll! Anna is a woman with many faces, she is a woman inside a woman.”. This is how Luc Besson’s latest film is presented, mysterious and subtle. After two years of shooting, the director returns in a style he masters. It is therefore against the backdrop of the Cold War that we find a brilliant cast with Sasha Luss, who, for her first main role in a feature film, turns out to be a real and pleasant surprise. Alongside her is a brilliant trio of Helen Mirren, Luke Evans and Cillian Murphy. Without ever leaving the cliché, the film still manages to surprise thanks to an efficient editing and a mastered temporality. Indeed, it is because of its non-linear aspect that the film is interesting. Without wanting to be complex, the narrative captivates and reveals a sophisticated screenplay where relationships and dialogues alter the narrative. Finally, the film also features perfectly choreographed action scenes, specific to the French director’s direction. However, the film does not seem to be complete, unlike the similar “Red Sparrow” with Jennifer Lawrence, which takes us into a darker thriller.
