Mais qu’est-il arrivé au Loki rencontré par nos héros à New York en 2012 dans la conclusion de la saga de l’infini « Avengers : Endgame » (2019) ?
Ce dernier avait réussi à s’enfuir grâce au Tesseract que Tony Stark essayait de récupérer pour sauver l’humanité. Oui mais il se trouve que Loki n’était pas « censé » récupérer le Tesseract et s’enfuir à ce moment-là de l’histoire. Il se fait donc arrêter par la TVA (Time Variance Authority) pour maintenir le bon déroulement du flux temporel. Il y découvre alors un monde en dehors du temps qui non seulement n’est pas tout à fait ce qu’il paraît mais se trouve en plus menacé. Par qui ? Lui-même …
Troisième série Marvel diffusée exclusivement sur Disney+ et intégrée dans la chronologie du MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), « Loki » a tout d’abord un but similaire à ses deux prédécesseurs « WandaVision » et « Falcon and the Winter Soldier », à savoir qu’elle permet de développer un personnage relativement secondaire dans les films tout en abordant un nouvel angle de l’univers. Mais si Wanda aura un impact sur le prochain film Doctor Strange, cette série s’avère bien plus importante dans la mesure où elle change radicalement l’univers et introduit son prochain grand méchant.
Globalement, la série est d’un bon niveau avec d’excellents épisodes mais quelques faiblesses. Les dialogues (en particulier entre Loki et Mobius) sont l’une de ses grandes forces. Le casting est quant à lui très juste entre approfondissement de personnage, nouveaux enjeux et humour avec dans les rôles principaux Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino et Owen Wilson !
Il s’agit aussi de la première des nouvelles séries Marvel à se poursuivre dans une seconde saison, mais nous reviendrons plus en détail sur cette première saison dans un podcast à paraître très prochainement sur notre chaîne YouTube.

Third Marvel series to air exclusively on Disney+ and part of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) timeline, « Loki » initially serves a similar purpose to its two predecessors « WandaVision » and « Falcon and the Winter Soldier », namely to further develop a relatively minor character in the films while introducing a new perspective to the universe. But while Wanda will have an impact in the upcoming Doctor Strange movie, this series is far more important in that it radically changes the universe and introduces its next major villain.
Overall, the series is solid with some excellent episodes but some weaknesses too. The dialogues (especially between Loki and Mobius) are one of its great strengths. The casting is very good between character exploration, new stakes and humor with Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino and Owen Wilson in the main roles!
It is also the first of the new Marvel series to be renewed into a second season, but we will come back in more details on this first season in a podcast to be released very soon on our YouTube channel.
