En quelques mots :
Le nouvel opus a la lourde tâche d’établir le monde post-Endgame et d’expliquer les conséquences du « Blip » ces cinq années où la moitié de la population a disparu avant de revenir. Mais si ce sujet est correctement traité dès le début, l’intrigue même du film avec Peter Parker et ses amis partant en voyage en Europe peine à décoller. Ce lent début, couplé avec des twists assez évidents et une multitude de stéréotypes tous plus stupides les uns que les autres font osciller ce film entre thriller, action de comics et blagues d’ados sans jamais vraiment y trouver sa voie. Néanmoins, le film reste cool et très facilement appréciable, un Marvel correct mais qui ne parvient pas à rester au niveau de son prédécesseur « Homecoming » malgré de bonnes performances notamment de Jake Gyllenhaal dans le rôle de Mysterio. En revanche les scènes post-générique sont très importantes cette fois-ci et probablement les plus intrigantes et intéressantes.

The latest installment has the heavy task of establishing the post-Endgame world and explaining the fallout of the » Blip » these five years when half of the population disappeared before returning. But if this topic is properly addressed from the beginning, the very plot of the film with Peter Parker and his friends going on a trip to Europe is struggling to get started. This slow start, coupled with quite obvious twists and a multitude of stereotypes, each more stupid than the next, make this film wavers between thriller, comic book action and teenage jokes without ever really finding its way there. Nevertheless, the film remains cool and very easily enjoyable, a decent Marvel but which doesn’t manage to stay at the level of its predecessor “Homecoming” despite good performances notably by Jake Gyllenhaal in the role of Mysterio. On the other hand, post-credit scenes are very important this time and are probably the most intriguing and interesting ones.
