\u00ab\u00a0Spencer\u00a0\u00bb, Pablo Larra\u00edn quitte les figures f\u00e9minines mais reste avec celles du pouvoir et revient sur l\u2019histoire de son pays avec un film de genre centr\u00e9 sur l\u2019histoire et l\u2019h\u00e9ritage du g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Augusto Pinochet. Laur\u00e9at du Prix du sc\u00e9nario \u00e0 la Mostra de Venise, le nouveau film du r\u00e9alisateur chilien emprunte en effet au cin\u00e9ma d\u2019horreur pour dresser un puissant r\u00e9quisitoire contre l\u2019ex-dictateur pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 ici en vampire que son entourage appelle \u2018El Conde\u2019 (le comte). C\u2019est une figure militaire \u00e9gocentrique aveugle \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tendue de ses crimes, un vampire vieillissant vieux d\u00e9j\u00e0 de 250 ans qui a us\u00e9 de ses pouvoirs pour \u00e9radiquer le socialisme, les syndicalistes et les r\u00e9volutionnaires \u00e0 travers l\u2019Histoire. Mais il ne supporte pas que l\u2019on se souvienne de lui comme d\u2019un voleur, sa famille se r\u00e9unit alors pour discuter h\u00e9ritage alors qu\u2019une comptable et nonne vient faire l\u2019inventaire du capital de la famille Pinochet pour l\u2019exorciser \u2026<\/p><p>Pablo Larra\u00edn poursuit avec ce film sorti directement sur <em>Netflix<\/em> \u2013 50 ans apr\u00e8s l\u2019arriv\u00e9e au pouvoir de Pinochet \u2013 sa veine politique sur l\u2019histoire chilienne apr\u00e8s \u00ab\u00a0No\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0Neruda\u00a0\u00bb, avec Gael Garcia Bernal notamment. Il livre cette fois une satire politique \u00e0 la limite de la farce qui joue sur la symbolique du vampire buvant le sang de ses victimes o\u00f9 Pinochet repr\u00e9sente la figure du fascisme mondial en reprenant en partie le mythe de Dracula et la figure du Diable. La question de l\u2019h\u00e9ritage familial souligne les malversations et manipulations de la famille au pouvoir et sa profonde avidit\u00e9. La m\u00e9taphore du vampire illustre ainsi le sort r\u00e9serv\u00e9 aux Chiliens sous son joug de 1973 \u00e0 1990, et la nature \u00e9ternelle du vampire \u2013 qui ne meurt pas et ne dispara\u00eet donc jamais \u2013 illustre quant \u00e0 elle les crimes et les vols d\u2019un dictateur qui n\u2019a jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 confront\u00e9 \u00e0 une vraie justice et b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie donc d\u2019une impunit\u00e9 \u2018\u00e9ternelle\u2019. Et il va encore plus loin avec le rajeunissement des vampires qui figure la tendance de l\u2019Histoire \u00e0 se r\u00e9p\u00e9ter.<\/p><p>\u00ab\u00a0El Conde\u00a0\u00bb est une fable macabre assez d\u00e9routante, une satire politique hautement symbolique et multilingue (Espagnol, Anglais, Fran\u00e7ais) qui s\u2019av\u00e8re un peu trop didactique et lente. La faute \u00e0 un manque cruel d\u2019enjeux pendant pr\u00e8s des \u00be d\u2019un film qui prend beaucoup de temps \u00e0 pr\u00e9senter ses personnages et leur situation. Bien que le rythme s\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e8re et l\u2019intrigue devienne plus int\u00e9ressante sur la fin, l\u2019ensemble reste fastidieux et quelque peu assommant. Pourtant, le film n\u2019est pas d\u00e9nu\u00e9 de qualit\u00e9 avec quelques sc\u00e8nes int\u00e9ressantes, avec une famille qui vit dans l\u2019adoration de sa figure paternelle sur une \u00eele loin de tout \u00e0 des ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8re de la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 sociale de son pays. La question de la post\u00e9rit\u00e9 est par exemple tr\u00e8s bien sugg\u00e9r\u00e9e dans une sc\u00e8ne o\u00f9 l\u2019ex-dictateur pose fi\u00e8rement entre les bustes des chefs d\u2019Etat. Le choix de la photographie en noir et blanc est par ailleurs judicieux dans la mesure o\u00f9 il rappelle \u00e0 la fois les classiques du cin\u00e9ma de vampire mais donne \u00e9galement une certaine esth\u00e9tique au film et une dimension onirique, d\u2019autant qu\u2019il permet de masquer la violence graphique et gore, et sugg\u00e8re le c\u00f4t\u00e9 obscur de l\u2019humanit\u00e9 qui y est d\u00e9peint.<\/p><p>Une \u0153uvre m\u00e9taphorique bien pens\u00e9e mais qui laisse sur sa faim par son manque de d\u00e9veloppement narratif, et aurait clairement b\u00e9n\u00e9fici\u00e9 d\u2019une sortie en salles. Winner of the Screenplay Prize at the Venice Film Festival, the Chilean director&rsquo;s new film adopts horror cinema as the basis for a powerful indictment of the former dictator, portrayed here as a vampire known to his entourage as &lsquo;El Conde&rsquo; (the Count). He&rsquo;s an egocentric military figure oblivious to the extent of his crimes, an aging vampire already 250 years old who has used his powers to suppress socialism, unionists and revolutionaries throughout history. But he can&rsquo;t bear to be remembered as a thief, so his family gathers to discuss inheritance, while an accountant and nun comes to survey the Pinochet family capital and exorcise him&#8230;<\/p><p>With this film released directly on <em>Netflix<\/em> \u2013 50 years after Pinochet came to power \u2013 Pablo Larra\u00edn carries on his political theme of Chilean history after \u201cNo\u201d and \u201cNeruda\u201d, starring Gael Garcia Bernal. This time, he delivers a political satire bordering on farce, using the symbolism of a vampire drinking the blood of his victims, in which Pinochet represents the figure of global fascism, in part borrowing from the myth of Dracula and the figure of the Devil. The question of family inheritance underlines the abuse and manipulation of the ruling family and its profound greed. The vampire metaphor illustrates the fate of Chileans under his yoke from 1973 to 1990, and the eternal nature of the vampire \u2013 which never dies and therefore never disappears \u2013 exemplifies the crimes and thefts of a dictator who has never faced real justice and therefore enjoys &lsquo;eternal&rsquo; impunity. And he takes it a step further with the rejuvenation of the vampires, which illustrates history&rsquo;s tendency to repeat itself.<\/p><p>\u201cEl Conde\u201d is a rather confusing grim fable, a highly symbolic and multilingual (Spanish, English, French) political satire that proves a bit too didactic and slow. This is due to a severe lack of stakes for almost \u00be of the film, which takes a long time to establish its characters and their situation. Although the pace quickens and the plot gets more interesting towards the end, the whole thing remains tedious and somewhat dull. Yet the film is by no means bereft of qualities, with some interesting scenes featuring a family living in worship of their father figure on a remote island light-years away from the social reality of their homeland. The question of posterity, for example, is well evoked in a scene where the ex-dictator proudly stands between busts of heads of state. The choice of black-and-white photography is also a judicious one, reminiscent of classic vampire films, but also giving the film a certain aesthetic and dreamlike dimension, helping to conceal the graphic violence and gore, and hinting at the dark side of humanity depicted in the film.<\/p><p>A well-thought-out metaphorical movie, but one that leaves you longing due to its lack of narrative development, and would clearly have gained from a theatrical release. Es un militar egoc\u00e9ntrico ciego ante la magnitud de sus cr\u00edmenes, un vampiro envejecido que ya tiene 250 a\u00f1os y que ha utilizado sus poderes para erradicar el socialismo, los sindicalistas y los revolucionarios a lo largo de la historia. Pero no soporta ser recordado como un ladr\u00f3n, as\u00ed que su familia se re\u00fane para hablar de la herencia, mientras una contable y monja viene a evaluar los bienes de la familia Pinochet y exorcizarlo&#8230;<\/p><p>Con esta pel\u00edcula, estrenada directamente en <em>Netflix<\/em> \u2013 50 a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de la llegada de Pinochet al poder \u2013 Pablo Larra\u00edn contin\u00faa su ciclo pol\u00edtico sobre la historia de Chile tras \u201cNo\u201d y \u201cNeruda\u201d, con Gael Garc\u00eda Bernal. Esta vez se trata de una s\u00e1tira pol\u00edtica que linda con la farsa, jugando con el simbolismo del vampiro que bebe la sangre de sus v\u00edctimas, en la que Pinochet representa la figura del fascismo global, tomando prestado en parte el mito de Dr\u00e1cula y la figura del Diablo. La cuesti\u00f3n de la herencia familiar subraya la malversaci\u00f3n y manipulaci\u00f3n de la familia reinante y su profunda codicia. La met\u00e1fora del vampiro ilustra el destino de los chilenos bajo su yugo desde 1973 hasta 1990, y la eternidad del vampiro -que nunca muere y, por tanto, nunca desaparece- ilustra los cr\u00edmenes y robos de un dictador que nunca se ha enfrentado a una aut\u00e9ntica justicia y que, por tanto, disfruta de una impunidad \u00ab\u00a0eterna\u00a0\u00bb. Y va m\u00e1s all\u00e1 con el rejuvenecimiento de los vampiros, que ilustra la tendencia de la historia a repetirse.<\/p><p>\u201cEl Conde\u201d es una f\u00e1bula macabra bastante desconcertante, una s\u00e1tira pol\u00edtica altamente simb\u00f3lica y pol\u00edglota (espa\u00f1ol, ingl\u00e9s, franc\u00e9s) que resulta demasiado did\u00e1ctica y lenta. Esto se debe a una profunda falta de inter\u00e9s durante casi \u00be partes de la pel\u00edcula, que tarda mucho en presentar a sus personajes y su situaci\u00f3n. Aunque el ritmo se acelera y la trama se vuelve m\u00e1s interesante hacia el final, la pel\u00edcula sigue siendo tediosa y bastante aburrida. Sin embargo, la pel\u00edcula tiene su punto de calidad, con algunas escenas interesantes, como la de una familia que vive adorando a su figura paterna en una isla alejada de la realidad social de su pa\u00eds. La cuesti\u00f3n de la posteridad, por ejemplo, est\u00e1 muy bien planteada en una escena en la que el ex dictador posa orgulloso entre bustos de jefes de Estado. La elecci\u00f3n de la fotograf\u00eda en blanco y negro tambi\u00e9n es acertada, ya que recuerda a los cl\u00e1sicos del cine de vampiros, pero tambi\u00e9n confiere a la pel\u00edcula una cierta dimensi\u00f3n est\u00e9tica y on\u00edrica, sobre todo porque oculta la violencia gr\u00e1fica y el gore, y sugiere el lado oscuro de la humanidad representado en la pel\u00edcula.<\/p><p>Una obra metaf\u00f3rica bien concebida, pero carente de desarrollo narrativo, y que se habr\u00eda beneficiado claramente de un estreno en salas. El director, conocido ahora por sus biopics introspectivos, volver\u00e1 a las figuras femeninas ic\u00f3nicas con su pr\u00f3xima pel\u00edcula en 2024 sobre Maria Callas, protagonizada por Angelina
