d\u2019Ahsoka en live-action dans \u00ab\u00a0The Mandalorian\u00a0\u00bb, le sc\u00e9nariste et r\u00e9alisateur Dave Filoni lui consacre maintenant sa propre s\u00e9rie dans l\u2019univers Star Wars situ\u00e9e 7 ans apr\u00e8s la chute de l\u2019Empire et pr\u00e8s de 15 ans apr\u00e8s les \u00e9v\u00e9nements de la s\u00e9rie \u00ab\u00a0Rebels\u00a0\u00bb dont elle poursuit l\u2019intrigue.<\/p><p>Si cela semble un peu confus, c\u2019est normal, c\u2019est le sort des univers connect\u00e9s qui n\u00e9cessitent d\u2019avoir regard\u00e9 l\u2019ensemble de leur contenu pour suivre correctement les nouveaux. Et dans ce cas pr\u00e9cis, la s\u00e9rie \u00ab Ahsoka \u00bb marque un tournant dans l\u2019univers Star Wars dans la mesure o\u00f9 c\u2019est la premi\u00e8re s\u00e9rie faisant non seulement r\u00e9f\u00e9rence explicitement, mais poursuivant qui plus est l\u2019intrigue d\u2019une s\u00e9rie d\u2019animation. Jusque-l\u00e0 les projets live-action et d\u2019animation se croisaient et se r\u00e9f\u00e9ren\u00e7aient mutuellement mais sans \u00eatre jamais connect\u00e9s, sans vraies implications directes. Ici, il est fortement recommand\u00e9 d\u2019avoir au pr\u00e9alable regard\u00e9 \u00ab Rebels \u00bb et dans une moindre mesure, \u00e9galement \u00ab The Clone Wars \u00bb (\u00e0 savoir le Filoni-verse). Mais puisque ce n\u2019est pas la coutume dans l\u2019univers de George Lucas qu\u2019a rachet\u00e9 <em>Disney<\/em> d\u2019imposer des pr\u00e9requis aux films et s\u00e9ries live-action, \u00ab Ahsoka \u00bb s\u2019\u00e9vertue \u00e0 introduire ou r\u00e9introduire les personnages et le contexte de l\u2019intrigue avec de nombreuses sc\u00e8nes d\u2019exposition assez lourdes essayant ainsi de trouver un juste milieu entre une s\u00e9rie accessible \u00e0 tous et une s\u00e9rie demandant aux fans d\u2019en avoir visionn\u00e9 une autre au pr\u00e9alable. Le r\u00e9sultat est un entre-deux qui tue quelque peu la narration surtout dans sa premi\u00e8re moiti\u00e9, et n\u2019est jamais vraiment satisfaisant pour personne.<\/p><p>Au-del\u00e0 de cet aspect novateur, la s\u00e9rie marque un retour \u00e0 la dimension plus <em>space opera<\/em> et <em>fantasy<\/em> de Star Wars et explore les recoins les plus \u00e9tranges et mystiques de l\u2019univers avec d\u2019innombrables r\u00e9f\u00e9rences et clins d\u2019\u0153il pour les fans des s\u00e9ries anim\u00e9es. On retrouve donc l\u2019ex-Jedi Ahsoka Tano et la Mandaloriennne Sabine Wren \u00e0 la recherche de leur ami Jedi disparu Ezra Bridger tandis que de loyaux imp\u00e9riaux tentent toujours de retrouver le Grand Amiral Thrawn disparu avec ce dernier. Retrouver un proche impliquera ainsi de lib\u00e9rer une menace certaine sur la galaxie \u2026<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8477 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Snapshot_835.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"775\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Snapshot_835.png 1500w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Snapshot_835-300x155.png 300w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Snapshot_835-1024x529.png 1024w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Snapshot_835-768x397.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/p><p>Apr\u00e8s des hauts et des bas dans le monde des s\u00e9ries Star Wars sur <em>Disney+<\/em>, \u00ab\u00a0Ahsoka\u00a0\u00bb livre une prestation pour le moins mitig\u00e9e. Il y a clairement une ligne directrice, contrairement \u00e0 la saison 3 de Mando qui tournait compl\u00e8tement en rond, et la r\u00e9alisation est \u00e9galement meilleure que \u00ab\u00a0Obi-Wan Kenobi\u00a0\u00bb. En revanche on ne retrouve pas la profondeur de \u00ab\u00a0Andor\u00a0\u00bb ni l\u2019\u00e9pique et l\u2019\u00e9motion des deux premi\u00e8res saisons de Mando. Cette nouvelle s\u00e9rie s\u2019av\u00e8re en fait tr\u00e8s frustrante dans la mesure o\u00f9 elle introduit des \u00e9l\u00e9ments d\u2019intrigue \u00e0 fort potentiel et implications pour le futur de la saga sans jamais les mener \u00e0 bout. Elle a de bonnes id\u00e9es qu\u2019elle n\u2019exploite juste pas \u00e0 fond, et il n\u2019y pas v\u00e9ritablement de r\u00e9solution pour les relations qu\u2019elle tisse entre les personnages. Elle laisse ainsi les myst\u00e8res qu\u2019elle ouvre en suspens et s\u2019apparente finalement plus \u00e0 une grande introduction d\u2019une histoire aux enjeux plus larges laiss\u00e9s pour une suite dans une tr\u00e8s probable saison 2, voire pour le film de Filoni qui servira d\u2019apog\u00e9e aux s\u00e9ries d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es avec Jon Favreau.<\/p><p>Cette s\u00e9rie \u2013 ou premi\u00e8re saison \u2013 met donc en sc\u00e8ne un trio de personnages principaux f\u00e9minins avec le retour de la G\u00e9n\u00e9rale Hera Syndulla (et d\u2019autres personnages issus des s\u00e9ries anim\u00e9es) faisant face \u00e0 deux nouveaux personnages, Baylan Skoll (RIP Ray Stevenson) et Shin Hati (Ivanna Sakhno), deux adeptes de la force ne prenant plus part \u00e0 l\u2019opposition mill\u00e9naire entre c\u00f4t\u00e9 lumineux et obscur. Et c\u2019est justement, le personnage de Baylan las de la lutte sans fin entre Jedi et Sith qui vole la vedette \u00e0 nos h\u00e9ro\u00efnes par sa pr\u00e9sence intrigante. Cependant on ne peut qu\u2019\u00eatre frustr\u00e9 par le manque de r\u00e9solution narrative concernant la qu\u00eate de ce personnage qui n\u2019aboutit qu\u2019\u00e0 des indices et n\u2019influe finalement pas sur l\u2019intrigue principale. Son personnage et sa padawan, vont de pair avec le duo Ahsoka-Sabine comme un double arc th\u00e9matique en miroir avec deux anciens Jedi devenus Ma\u00eetres, qui ont chacun reni\u00e9 l\u2019Ordre pour diff\u00e9rentes raisons et aspirent chacun \u00e0 une nouvelle voie avec une padawan atypique. Mais si cette relation en miroir nourrit l\u2019intrigue dans la premi\u00e8re moiti\u00e9 de la saison, elle est par la suite abandonn\u00e9e au profit de la qu\u00eate personnelle de chaque personnage.<\/p><p>L\u2019arc narratif autour du personnage principal jou\u00e9 \u2013 \u00e0 nouveau apr\u00e8s \u00ab\u00a0The Mandalorian\u00a0\u00bb \u2013 par Rosario Dawson apporte une progression th\u00e9matique et un questionnement sur le personnage et sur sa conception de la force dans un fort parall\u00e8le avec \u00ab\u00a0Le Seigneur des Anneaux\u00a0\u00bb avec le passage d\u2019une Ahsoka la grise \u00e0 une Ahsoka la blanche. Mais l\u2019\u00e9volution se fait presque trop instantan\u00e9ment pour que l\u2019enseignement de son Ma\u00eetre Anakin Skywalker ait un r\u00e9el poids. De mani\u00e8re g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, les arcs des personnages sont donc int\u00e9ressants \u2013 c\u2019est en effet la grande force de Filoni, le padawan de Lucas \u2013 mais les \u00e9volutions apparaissent malheureusement soit comme un d\u00e9clic soit n\u2019arrivent pas \u00e0 leur terme, remettant une nouvelle fois en question le format de huit \u00e9pisodes adopt\u00e9 par les s\u00e9ries Star Wars du \u2018Mando-verse\u2019. La question principale de la s\u00e9rie reste n\u00e9anmoins l\u2019interpr\u00e9tation de la force, qu\u2019est-ce que cela signifie d\u2019\u00eatre un Jedi\u00a0ou de ressentir la force. Un Jedi se doit-il de suivre les enseignements de l\u2019Ordre\u00a0? Le maniement de la force est-il obligatoire pour suivre les valeurs du corps Jedi\u00a0? Doit-on \u00eatre choisi ou choisir la force\u00a0? Des questions d\u00e9j\u00e0 abord\u00e9es par \u00ab\u00a0Les Derniers Jedi\u00a0\u00bb avant d\u2019\u00eatre totalement \u00e9lud\u00e9e par \u00ab\u00a0L\u2019Ascension de Skywalker\u00a0\u00bb, mais qui une nouvelle fois sont r\u00e9solues pr\u00e9cipitamment (bien qu\u2019une saison deux puisse approfondir ce sujet).<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8474 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Snapshot_832.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"775\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Snapshot_832.png 1500w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Snapshot_832-300x155.png 300w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Snapshot_832-1024x529.png 1024w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Snapshot_832-768x397.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/p><p>Aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s d\u2019une Ahsoka d\u2019abord tr\u00e8s sto\u00efque refoulant ses \u00e9motions, la s\u00e9rie introduit Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Sabine) et Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Hera) et voit le retour de David Tennant (Huyang), Diana Lee Inosanto (la ni\u00e8ce de Bruce Lee alias Morgan Elsbeth) et de Lars Mikkelsen dans le r\u00f4le du Ma\u00eetre tacticien imp\u00e9rial. Thrawn y est d\u00e9peint comme un strat\u00e8ge calculant les forces \u00e0 d\u00e9ployer tout en se projetant sur la bataille \u00e0 venir, et un officier tenant \u00e0 ses hommes. Les \u00e9l\u00e9ments centraux du personnage \u00e9crit par Timothy Zahn en 1994 sont donc conserv\u00e9s mais \u00e0 son propre d\u00e9triment dans l\u2019histoire, bien loin de la profondeur et de la cr\u00e9dibilit\u00e9 du personnage dans les romans. Eman Esfandi rejoint \u00e9galement l\u2019\u00e9quipe dans le r\u00f4le d\u2019Ezra qu\u2019il campe pour le coup avec naturel et malice.<\/p><p>\u00ab\u00a0Ahsoka\u00a0\u00bb c\u2019est, pour finir, une tr\u00e8s belle s\u00e9rie visuellement, avec de nouveaux designs, environnements et vaisseaux, des combats r\u00e9ussis et des duels au sabre lasers palpitants et film\u00e9s avec intelligence entre parall\u00e8les \u00e0 la saga et aux anciens films de samoura\u00ef japonais comme \u00ab\u00a0Hara Kiri\u00a0\u00bb. S\u2019il y a bien quelques belles id\u00e9es de mise en sc\u00e8ne, notamment dans le monde entre les mondes, la r\u00e9alisation s\u2019av\u00e8re par ailleurs assez pauvre et souffre de nombreuses cassures de rythme. Celles-ci sont \u00e9galement dues \u00e0 des dialogues bien trop plats et une n\u00e9gation de la r\u00e8gle courante du \u2018Show don\u2019t tell\u2019. Malgr\u00e9 son int\u00e9r\u00eat th\u00e9matique, le sc\u00e9nario souffre d\u2019incoh\u00e9rences, de probl\u00e8mes de logique, et surtout de manque de d\u00e9veloppement des points de vue et divisions au sein des personnages. Elle ne r\u00e9ussit pas \u00e0 cr\u00e9er de r\u00e9els enjeux \u00e0 l\u2019exception de la qu\u00eate principale.<\/p><p>Dans l\u2019ensemble c\u2019est donc mitig\u00e9, c\u2019est une s\u00e9rie techniquement bien faite et qui sait jouer sur une atmosph\u00e8re nostalgique et fantaisiste, mais peine \u00e0 approfondir ses personnages et cr\u00e9er r\u00e9ellement de l\u2019\u00e9motion. Par sa nature de suite indirecte d\u2019une autre s\u00e9rie, elle risque in\u00e9vitablement une compr\u00e9hension \u00e0 deux vitesses, et une division de la <em>fanbase<\/em>. Elle est limit\u00e9e par les connexions qu\u2019elle cherche \u00e0 faire avec de nombreux autres contenus Star Wars, et par sa propre v\u00e9n\u00e9ration de la franchise qui lui fait prendre notre int\u00e9r\u00eat pour acquis. And in this case, the \u00ab\u00a0Ahsoka\u00a0\u00bb series marks a turning point in the Star Wars universe, in that it&rsquo;s the first series not only to make explicit reference to it, but also to continue the plot of an animated series. Until now, live-action and animated projects have crossed and referenced each other, but never connected, with no real direct implications. Here, it&rsquo;s highly recommended to have first watched \u201cRebels\u201d and, to a lesser extent, \u201cThe Clone Wars\u201d (i.e. the Filoni-verse). But since it&rsquo;s not the norm in the George Lucas universe bought by Disney, to require viewers to have seen a live-action film or series beforehand, \u201cAhsoka\u201d goes to great lengths to introduce or reintroduce the characters and the plot context, with a number of fairly heavy exposition scenes, trying to strike a balance between a series accessible to all and one that requires fans to have seen another beforehand. The outcome is an in-between that somewhat kills the narrative, especially in its first half, and is never really satisfying for anyone.<\/p><p>Beyond this innovative aspect, the series marks a return to the more space opera and fantasy dimensions of Star Wars, exploring the strangest and most mystical corners of the universe with countless references and easter eggs for fans of the animated series. The story features ex-Jedi Ahsoka Tano and Mandalorian Sabine Wren as they search for their missing Jedi friend Ezra Bridger, while loyal Imperials are still trying to find Grand Admiral Thrawn, who disappeared with him. Finding a loved one will thus imply unleashing a deadly threat across the galaxy&#8230;<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8477 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Snapshot_835.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"775\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Snapshot_835.png 1500w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Snapshot_835-300x155.png 300w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Snapshot_835-1024x529.png 1024w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Snapshot_835-768x397.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/p><p>After some ups and downs in the world of <em>Disney+<\/em> Star Wars series, \u201cAhsoka\u201d delivers a mixed performance, to say the least. There&rsquo;s a clear guideline, unlike Mando season 3, which totally ran in circles, and the direction is also better than in \u201cObi-Wan Kenobi\u201d. However, it lacks the depth of \u201cAndor\u201d and the emotion and sense of epic of Mando&rsquo;s first two seasons. This new series is actually very frustrating, in that it introduces plot elements with great potential and implications for the future of the saga, but never brings them to fruition. It has good ideas that it just doesn&rsquo;t fully capitalize on, and there&rsquo;s no real resolution to the relationships it forges between the characters. It thus leaves the mysteries it opens hanging, and ultimately feels more like a big introduction to a story with larger stakes left for a sequel in a very likely season 2, or even for Filoni&rsquo;s film that will act as the culmination of the series developed with Jon Favreau.<\/p><p>This series \u2013 or first season \u2013 features a trio of main female characters, with the return of General Hera Syndulla (and other characters from the animated series) facing off against two new characters, Baylan Skoll (RIP Ray Stevenson) and Shin Hati (Ivanna Sakhno), two Force wielders no longer drawn to the age-old opposition between the light and dark sides. And it&rsquo;s precisely Baylan&rsquo;s character, weary of the endless struggle between Jedi and Sith, who steals the show with his intriguing presence. However, it&rsquo;s only frustrating to see the lack of narrative resolution in this character&rsquo;s quest, which only leads to clues and has no impact on the main plot. His character and her padawan, pair with the Ahsoka-Sabine duo as a mirrored double thematic arc with two former Jedi turned Masters, each of whom has disowned the Order for different reasons and each of whom aspires to a new path with an atypical padawan. But while this mirrored relationship fuels the plot in the first half of the season, it is later dropped in favor of each character&rsquo;s personal quest.<\/p><p>The story arc around the main character played \u2013 once again after \u201cThe Mandalorian\u201d \u2013 by Rosario Dawson brings a thematic progression and a questioning of the character and her conception of the force in a strong parallel with \u201cThe Lord of the Rings\u201d with the transition from Ahsoka the gray to Ahsoka the white. But the evolution is almost too sudden for the teachings of her Master Anakin Skywalker to have any real bearing. Overall, then, the character arcs are quite interesting \u2013 this is indeed the greatest strength of Filoni, Lucas&rsquo; padawan \u2013 but the evolutions unfortunately either come too abruptly or fail to reach their completion, once again raising questions about the eight-episode format adopted by the Star Wars series of the &lsquo;Mando-verse&rsquo;. Nevertheless, the main thrust of the series remains the interpretation of the Force: what does it mean to be a Jedi, or to feel the Force? Does a Jedi have to follow the teachings of the Order? Is the mastery of the force required to follow the values of the Jedi code? Must one be chosen or choose the Force? These are questions already addressed by \u201cThe Last Jedi\u201d before being completely eluded by \u201cThe Rise of Skywalker\u201d, and which are once again addressed quite in a hurry (although a second season could go into greater depth on this subject).<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8474 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Snapshot_832.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"775\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Snapshot_832.png 1500w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Snapshot_832-300x155.png 300w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Snapshot_832-1024x529.png 1024w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Snapshot_832-768x397.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/p><p>In addition to an initially stoic and emotionally repressed Ahsoka, the series introduces Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Sabine) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Hera), and brings back David Tennant (Huyang), Diana Lee Inosanto (Bruce Lee&rsquo;s niece, aka Morgan Elsbeth) and Lars Mikkelsen as the Imperial Master Tactician. Here, Thrawn is portrayed as a strategist who calculates the forces to be deployed while looking ahead to the battle to come, and as an officer who cares about his men. The core elements of the character written by Timothy Zahn in 1994 are thus kept, but to his own detriment in the story, far from the depth and believability of the character in the novels. Eman Esfandi also naturally joins the team in the role of Ezra, which he plays with spontaneity and mischief.<\/p><p>Finally, \u201cAhsoka\u201d is a visually beautiful show, with new designs, environments and ships, great fights and thrilling lightsaber duels cleverly filmed to draw parallels with the saga and old Japanese samurai films such as \u201cHara Kiri\u201d. While there are a few good ideas direction-wise, especially in the world between worlds, the filmmaking proves to be rather poor and suffers from repeated pacing failures. These are also due to overly bland dialogue and a deviation from the common &lsquo;show don&rsquo;t tell&rsquo; rule. Despite its thematic appeal, the script suffers from inconsistencies, logic problems and, above all, a lack of development of viewpoints and divisions within the characters. With the exception of the main quest, it fails to raise any real stakes.<\/p><p>Overall, then, it&rsquo;s a mixed bag: technically, it&rsquo;s a well-made series that plays on a nostalgic, fantasy vibe, but struggles to deepen its characters and generate real emotion. By its very nature as an indirect sequel to another series, it inevitably runs the risk of a double standard of viewing experience, and a divided fanbase. It is hampered by the connections it strives to make with so many other Star Wars contents, and by its own awe for the franchise, which makes it take our interest for granted. Nevertheless, whether this is a first season or a limited series, it&rsquo;s clearly part of a long-term narrative with great potential, and therefore manages to captivate us enough with each episode to watch the next and what comes afterwards.<\/p><\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Rapha\u00ebl
