C\u2019est une com\u00e9die outranci\u00e8re et un thriller de manipulation qui emprunte par moments \u00e0 des \u0153uvres telles que \u00ab Le Talentueux Mr. Ripley \u00bb de Patricia Highsmith ou \u00ab The Servant \u00bb de Joseph Losey.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">L\u2019actrice, sc\u00e9nariste et r\u00e9alisatrice londonienne nous emm\u00e8ne \u00e0 Oxford (o\u00f9 elle a fait ses classes) o\u00f9 un jeune homme brillant mais maladroit a du mal \u00e0 s\u2019int\u00e9grer. Touch\u00e9 par sa situation et ses histoires de milieu modeste, le cador de la promo l\u2019invite \u00e0 passer l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 dans son luxueux domaine familial : Saltburn. Il fait alors la d\u00e9couverte d\u2019un nouveau monde et d\u2019une famille particuli\u00e8re o\u00f9 la servitude et l\u2019emprise sont mutuelles. Reste qu\u2019on n\u2019est jamais qu\u2019un jouet dans les bras des poss\u00e9dants : une le\u00e7on qu\u2019il apprendra \u00e0 ses d\u00e9pens \u2026 ou pas ?<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">L\u2019hypnotisant Barry Keoghan (Les Banshees d\u2019Inisherin ; Les Eternels) endosse son premier r\u00f4le principal aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s d\u2019un Jacob Elordi (le beau gosse de la s\u00e9rie \u00ab Euphoria \u00bb et nouveau Elvis dans le film de Sofia Coppola \u00ab Priscilla \u00bb en salles mercredi prochain en France) d\u2019une douceur apollinienne, de l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9gante et enivrante Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl ; I Care a lot), d\u2019un fantasque Richard E. Grant, d\u2019Alison Oliver en s\u0153ur ravissante et ravag\u00e9e, d\u2019Archie Madekwe (Gran Turismo) en cousin invit\u00e9-parasite, et d\u2019un cam\u00e9o de Carey Mulligan (Gatsby ; Maestro).<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Produit notamment par LuckyChap (Margot Robbie) et pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 au festival de Londres, ce film interdit aux moins de 18 ans et distribu\u00e9 en France directement en streaming sur Prime Video, se pr\u00e9sente d\u2019abord comme un r\u00e9cit initiatique satirique sur la lutte des classes. Mais son synopsis cache bien des choses et nous emm\u00e8ne dans des recoins inattendus. C\u2019est une \u0153uvre sexy et d\u00e9rangeante par moments qui explore les comportements, l\u2019envie et les pulsions et la fausse romance dans un symbolisme appuy\u00e9 (Minotaure, Icare).<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Tourn\u00e9 dans un format 4\/3 qui favorise les sym\u00e9tries, c\u2019est un film tr\u00e8s bien mis en sc\u00e8ne avec de tr\u00e8s beaux plans et des sc\u00e8nes chocs. Et davantage que l\u2019intrigue, ce sont vraiment les dialogues qui pimentent cette atmosph\u00e8re v\u00e9n\u00e9neuse avec une r\u00e9partie jubilatoire. Malheureusement la fin en fait trop, autant dans ses retournements de situation que dans son montage qui vient resouligner tout ce que l\u2019on vient de voir dans une trame finalement peu originale.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00ab Saltburn \u00bb est ainsi un film imparfait dont la progression de l\u2019intrigue reste tr\u00e8s bonne mais o\u00f9 l\u2019on voit malheureusement venir la fin \u2013 ce qui n\u2019\u00e9tait pas le cas dans \u00ab Promising Young Woman \u00bb \u2013 et dont le rythme et le propos peinent \u00e0 r\u00e9sonner compl\u00e8tement. It&rsquo;s an outrageous comedy and manipulative thriller that borrows at times from works such as Patricia Highsmith&rsquo;s \u201cThe Talented Mr. Ripley\u201d and Joseph Losey&rsquo;s \u201cThe Servant\u201d.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">The London-born actress, screenwriter and director takes us to Oxford (where she studied), where a brilliant but awkward young man struggles to fit in. Touched by his situation and his stories of humble background, the top dog in his class invites him to spend the summer at his luxurious family estate: Saltburn. There, he is introduced to a whole new world and a peculiar family where servitude and control come together. Yet one is never more than a toy in the hands of the haves: a lesson he&rsquo;ll learn the hard way&#8230; or will he ?<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">The mesmerizing Barry Keoghan (The Banshees of Inisherin; Eternals) steps into his first leading role alongside an Apollonian-sweet Jacob Elordi (the handsome hunk from the \u201cEuphoria\u201d series and the new Elvis in Sofia Coppola&rsquo;s \u201cPriscilla\u201d), the elegant and intoxicating Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl; I Care a lot), a whimsical Richard E. Grant, Alison Oliver as the ravishingly beautiful sister, Archie Madekwe (Gran Turismo) as the guest-parasite cousin, and a cameo from Carey Mulligan (Gatsby; Maestro).<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Produced by LuckyChap (Margot Robbie) and presented at the London Film Festival, this film, which is rated-R, initially appears as a satirical coming-of-age story about class conflict. But its plot hides many things, and takes us into unexpected corners. It&rsquo;s a sexy and at times disturbing work that explores behaviors, desire and impulses, and phony romance with a strong dose of symbolism (Minotaur, Icarus).<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Shot in a 1:33 aspect ratio that emphasizes symmetrical shots, this is a very well staged film, with some stunning shots and shocking scenes. And rather than the storyline itself, it&rsquo;s really the dialogue that spices up this poisonous environment with exhilarating repartee. Unfortunately, the ending takes things too far, both in its plot twists and in its editing, which rehashes everything we&rsquo;ve just witnessed in an ultimately fairly unoriginal plot.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div><div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px;\">\u201cSaltburn\u201d is therefore an imperfect movie whose plot progression is still very good, but where you can unfortunately see the end coming \u2013 which wasn&rsquo;t the case in \u201cPromising Young Woman\u201d \u2013 and whose pace and message struggle to fully resonate. Although less well orchestrated than her previous film, it remains a sufficiently beautiful, interesting and unsettling (a little perverse) piece of cinema to keep us looking forward to Fennell&rsquo;s next picture.<\/span><\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Rapha\u00ebl
