Toutes les trois d\u00e9cident alors de suivre leur propre route, co\u00fbte que co\u00fbte\u2026<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Par une adaptation de son propre roman, L\u00e6titia Colombani retrace dans \u00ab La Tresse \u00bb l\u2019existence de trois figures f\u00e9minines que tout s\u00e9pare mais dont les histoires s\u2019assemblent : celles de combattantes qui essayent de s\u2019en sortir malgr\u00e9 les difficult\u00e9s. Avec un ton f\u00e9ministe \u2013 mais surtout \u00e0 travers le regard de trois femmes \u2013 le film pr\u00e9sente en h\u00e9ro\u00efnes du quotidien ses trois protagonistes : une Smita \u201cintouchable\u201d qui souhaite le meilleur pour sa fille, une Giulia \u201cindomptable\u201d qui veut sauver l\u2019entreprise familiale, une Sarah \u201cinarr\u00eatable\u201d qui lutte contre la maladie. Toutes trois sont \u00e0 la fois ordinaires et extraordinaires de par leurs parcours, \u00e0 la fois simples et sem\u00e9s d\u2019emb\u00fbches, \u00e0 la fois durs et porteurs d\u2019espoir, avec leur foi en un avenir meilleur, leur amour pour leurs proches, mais aussi leur chevelure \u00e9voluant au gr\u00e9 de leurs aventures. Les cheveux prennent par ailleurs une place hautement symbolique dans le long-m\u00e9trage : ils incarnent la f\u00e9minit\u00e9, la libert\u00e9, le temps qui passe ; la t\u00e9nacit\u00e9, la continuit\u00e9, les valeurs pour lesquelles on se bat.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Si son message est clair, le triple sc\u00e9nario manque toutefois de surprises. \u00c0 trop jouer dans le pathos, \u00ab La Tresse \u00bb devient presque lourd(e), avec des refrains redondants \u2013 m\u00eame si c\u2019est du Ludovico Einaudi. Les intrigues suivent des sch\u00e9mas trac\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019avance (ou comme si) et finalement peu d\u2019enjeux sont r\u00e9ellement d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s, ni en Inde, ni en Italie, ni m\u00eame au Canada. Le film pr\u00e9sente des tranches de vie dont on ignore comment elles vont se poursuivre \u2013 ce qui n\u2019est pas une faute en soi, mais ce qui frustre et donne une sensation d\u2019inaboutissement. With a feminist tone \u2013 above all through the eyes of three women \u2013 the film depicts its three protagonists as everyday heroines: an \u00ab\u00a0untouchable\u00a0\u00bb Smita who wants the best for her daughter, an \u00a0\u00bb untamable\u00a0\u00bb Giulia who wants to save the family business, and an \u00ab\u00a0unstoppable\u00a0\u00bb Sarah who is battling illness. All three are at once ordinary and extraordinary in their journeys, which are both simple and fraught with pitfalls, both hard and hopeful, with their faith in a better future, their love for their loved ones, and their hair evolving with their adventures. Hair also plays a highly symbolic role in the film, embodying femininity, freedom and the passing of time, as well as tenacity, continuity and the values for which we fight.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">While the message is clear, the triple storyline lacks surprises. By being too pathos-driven, \u201cThe Braid\u201d becomes almost ponderous, with redundant tunes \u2013 despite playing Ludovico Einaudi. The plots follow set patterns (or as if they do) and in the end few issues are really developed, not in India, not in Italy, not even in Canada. The film features slices of life that we don&rsquo;t know how they&rsquo;re going to continue \u2013 which isn&rsquo;t a flaw in itself, but it is frustrating and leaves us with a feeling of incompleteness. As a result, the film falls a little flat: it&rsquo;s touching but not gripping; the emotion should probably have left more space for fiction.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div
