Apr\u00e8s \u00ab Mank \u00bb, et toujours en collaboration avec Netflix, le r\u00e9alisateur revient \u00e0 la charge avec l\u2019adaptation d\u2019une bande dessin\u00e9e fran\u00e7aise de Matz et Luc Jacamon, intitul\u00e9e \u00ab The Killer \u00bb.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Dans ce film, on y suit l\u2019histoire d\u2019un tueur \u00e0 gages international qui tente de se venger de ses employeurs apr\u00e8s un contrat qui tourne mal. De la France aux Etats-Unis en passant par les Cara\u00efbes, le film, r\u00e9gl\u00e9 comme une horloge, aborde avec cynisme la psychologie de l\u2019assassin. Son quotidien extr\u00eamement m\u00e9thodique est r\u00e9gi par des r\u00e8gles qu\u2019il se fixe lui-m\u00eame : respecte le plan, anticipe, n\u2019improvise pas, ne fais confiance \u00e0 personne, n\u2019offre jamais l\u2019avantage, ne m\u00e8ne que le combat pour lequel on te paye\u2026<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Si, de mani\u00e8re g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, l\u2019introspection du tueur s\u2019av\u00e8re convaincante, le sc\u00e9nario reste basique. Le film va droit au but, sans faire le moindre d\u00e9tour. Ce qui n\u2019est pas forc\u00e9ment un probl\u00e8me, tant l\u2019ambiance nous maintient en haleine. Le tueur, jou\u00e9 admirablement bien par Michael Fassbender, ne laisse la place \u00e0 aucun autre. Avec cr\u00e9dibilit\u00e9, il va user de ses talents, se mettre dans la peau de diff\u00e9rents personnages et ne laisser aucune chance.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Le film fait un constat gla\u00e7ant de la facilit\u00e9 qu\u2019a le tueur pour arriver \u00e0 ses fins, dans un monde ultra lib\u00e9ral, o\u00f9 la technologie est partout et est cens\u00e9e nous prot\u00e9ger. L\u2019assassin joue avec le syst\u00e8me, y exploite ses failles. Un syst\u00e8me qu\u2019il d\u00e9nigre tant par ailleurs.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Avec \u00ab The Killer \u00bb, Fincher fait preuve une fois de plus d\u2019une ma\u00eetrise technique impressionnante, tant au niveau du placement millim\u00e9tr\u00e9 de sa cam\u00e9ra que de la photographie tout en contraste. The man behind \u201cSeven\u201d and \u201cFight Club\u201d truly excels in the genre. After \u201cMank\u201d, and again working with Netflix, the director is back with an adaptation of a French comic book by Matz and Luc Jacamon, entitled \u201cThe Killer\u201d.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">The film follows the story of an international hitman who seeks revenge on his employers after a job goes wrong. From France to the United States via the Caribbean, the film, like clockwork, takes a cynical look at the psychology of the assassin. His extremely methodical daily routine is governed by rules he sets himself: stick to the plan, anticipate, don\u2019t improvise, trust no-one, never yield an advantage, fight only the battle you&rsquo;re paid to fight&#8230;<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">While the killer&rsquo;s introspection is generally convincing, the script remains rather simple. The film gets straight to the point, without the slightest side trip. Which isn&rsquo;t necessarily a problem, as the atmosphere keeps us on our toes. The killer, played admirably by Michael Fassbender, leaves no room for anyone else. With credibility, he will use his talents, get under the skin of different characters and not let any chance go by.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">The film makes a chilling observation of the ease with which the killer can achieve his ends in an ultra-liberal world where technology is everywhere and is supposed to protect us. The assassin plays with the system, exploiting its flaws. A system that he also denigrates so much.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">With \u201cThe Killer\u201d, Fincher once again demonstrates his impressive technical mastery, both in terms of the meticulous camera angles and the high-contrast photography. It&rsquo;s not one of his most memorable films, especially in terms of the script, but it&rsquo;s still engaging and takes us deep into the skin of a cold-blooded killer.<\/div><div
