Transfuge de classe le jour et grande s\u0153ur le soir, elle s\u2019immisce dans l\u2019univers de la haute finance en tentant de se faire recruter comme \u2018quant\u2019 (analyste quantitatif en finance de march\u00e9) dans des soci\u00e9t\u00e9s d\u2019investissement internationales. Claire Pommet, de son vrai nom, livre une excellente performance tout en retenue o\u00f9 la posture dit presque tout de son personnage qui porte son costume telle une armure androgyne et impressionne par son esprit vif et ac\u00e9r\u00e9.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Pour son second long-m\u00e9trage apr\u00e8s \u00ab L\u2019\u00e2ge atomique \u00bb en 2012, H\u00e9l\u00e9na Klotz signe un r\u00e9cit d\u2019\u00e9mancipation entre deux mondes d\u2019hommes qui brasse plusieurs sujets de la question du d\u00e9terminisme social \u00e0 l\u2019identit\u00e9 de genre en passant par des interrogations sur le consentement, la r\u00e9paration, la mutation et \u00e9videmment l\u2019argent dans une dimension assez romanesque. Elle propose un m\u00e9lange justement bien dos\u00e9 entre r\u00e9alisme et romanesque avec un rythme prenant, fort d\u2019une sc\u00e8ne d\u2019introduction fracassante. Brillamment interpr\u00e9t\u00e9 par un Niels Schneider complexe et touchant et un Sofiane Zermani dont la pr\u00e9sence investit chaque sc\u00e8ne, \u00ab La V\u00e9nus d\u2019Argent \u00bb nous envo\u00fbte par son esth\u00e9tique soign\u00e9e entre jeux de musiques et de lumi\u00e8res dans des s\u00e9quences presque oniriques ou contemplatives qui en se m\u00ealant \u00e0 l\u2019intrigue r\u00e9aliste cr\u00e9ent une atmosph\u00e8re particuli\u00e8re entre force et vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Cette atmosph\u00e8re fait qu\u2019on ne comprend pas toujours tr\u00e8s bien la protagoniste ou ses motivations, ce n\u2019est ni pour le luxe ou la gloire qu\u2019elle essaye de se frayer un chemin dans un univers loin du sien, mais en quoi ce monde de la finance est-il si tentant ? Ses ambitions d\u2019ascension sociale ne seraient alors qu\u2019un moyen pour elle d\u2019y trouver et d\u2019y gagner une forme de libert\u00e9 ? \u00c0 l\u2019image de la v\u00e9nus d\u2019argent des Rolls-Royce filant droit vers l\u2019horizon ? Mais attention \u00e0 l\u2019ambition \u2026<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">C\u2019est un film qui ne dit pas tout, et s\u2019exprime plus par son langage visuel fort. A class changer by day and big sister by night, she enters the world of high finance by trying to get herself recruited as a quant (quantitative analyst in market finance) in international investment companies. Claire Pommet, her real name, delivers an excellent, low-key performance in which her posture says almost everything about her character, who wears her suit like an androgynous armor and stands out for her quick, sharp wit.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">For her second feature film after 2012&rsquo;s \u201cAtomic Age\u201d, H\u00e9l\u00e9na Klotz delivers a tale of emancipation between two worlds of men that addresses a number of issues, from social determinism to gender identity, as well as questions about consent, reparation, mutation and, of course, money, in a fairly dramatic fashion. The film offers a well-balanced mix of realism and drama, with a fascinating pace and a smashing opening scene. Brilliantly acted by a complex and touching Niels Schneider and Sofiane Zermani, whose presence fills every scene, \u201cSpirit of Ecstasy\u201d captivates us with its meticulous aesthetic, combining music and lighting effects in almost dreamlike or contemplative sequences that blend with the realistic plot to create a peculiar atmosphere of strength and vulnerability.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">This atmosphere means that we don&rsquo;t always fully understand the protagonist or her motivations: it&rsquo;s not for luxury or glory that she&rsquo;s trying to make her way in a world far from her own, but why is the world of finance so tempting? Are her ambitions for social mobility just a way for her to find and earn a form of freedom? Like the silver Venus of the Rolls-Royce racing towards the horizon? But mind your ambitions &#8230;<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">This is a film that doesn&rsquo;t say everything, and expresses itself more through its strong visual style.
