Apr\u00e8s l\u2019Autrichienne Marie Kreutzer l\u2019an dernier, l\u2019Allemande Frauke Finsterwalder reprend quelques \u00e9l\u00e9ments du r\u00e9pertoire anachronique d\u00e9ploy\u00e9 dans le film \u00ab Corsage \u00bb avec ses inclinaisons modernes et une bande-originale \u00e9nergique et contemporaine. La comparaison entre les deux films est in\u00e9vitable tant ils proposent une vision similaire de cette indomptable figure de l\u2019imaginaire collectif. Mais l\u2019originalit\u00e9 de \u00ab Sissi &amp; Moi \u00bb vient justement de ce \u2018moi\u2019 qui introduit un point de vue ext\u00e9rieur en axant le r\u00e9cit sur la servante et offrant ainsi une autre mani\u00e8re de voir Sissi.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Lorsqu\u2019\u00e0 la fin du 19e si\u00e8cle, la comtesse Irma Szt\u00e1ray est choisie comme dame de compagnie de l\u2019Imp\u00e9ratrice, cette derni\u00e8re fuit la compagnie masculine pour vivre entour\u00e9e de femmes loin des \u00e9touffantes conventions de la Cour. Irma est alors envoy\u00e9e en Gr\u00e8ce, \u00e0 Corfou, loin de l\u2019\u00e9tiquette imp\u00e9riale dans laquelle elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9lev\u00e9e. De grands changements s\u2019offrent \u00e0 elle devant la vie frugale, sportive et espi\u00e8gle de l\u2019Imp\u00e9ratrice. Sous les premi\u00e8res difficult\u00e9s, une complicit\u00e9 va na\u00eetre qui pourrait virer \u00e0 l\u2019amour fanatique \u2026<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Jouant ainsi entre faits historiques et pure fiction, \u00ab Sissi &amp; Moi \u00bb mise sur une approche d\u00e9cal\u00e9e \u00e9prise de libert\u00e9 loin du faste des grands d\u00eeners imp\u00e9riaux de l\u2019\u00e9poque et du d\u00e9cor luxuriant de la plupart des biopics de couronn\u00e9s. Le film ne comporte \u00e9galement aucune musique d\u2019\u00e9poque et y pr\u00e9f\u00e8re une s\u00e9lection pop\/rock anglophone exclusivement compos\u00e9e de voix f\u00e9minine recentrant une nouvelle fois le r\u00e9cit sur l\u2019histoire de l\u2019imp\u00e9ratrice et de sa servante plut\u00f4t que sur la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 imp\u00e9riale. C\u2019est avant tout l\u2019histoire de ce duo \u2013 port\u00e9 par l\u2019excellente Sandra H\u00fcller encore dans un r\u00f4le tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rent cette ann\u00e9e (Anatomie d\u2019une chute ; La zone d\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat) et une superbe Susanne Wolff (L\u2019\u00e9tranger en Moi ; Styx) \u2013 dont la relation va occasionner de profonds changements de style et d\u2019attitude.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Ces changements sont notamment vestimentaires passant du lourd attirail d\u2019\u00e9poque \u00e0 un style plus \u00e9pur\u00e9, plus l\u00e9ger, plus souple (et plus neutre aussi ?). Les cr\u00e9ations richement color\u00e9es de la costumi\u00e8re Tanja Hausner racontent ainsi une grande partie de l&rsquo;histoire, brouillant les \u00e9poques avec aplomb, la d\u00e9licate corseterie d&rsquo;\u00e9poque c\u00e9dant alors la place \u00e0 des v\u00eatements anachroniques. La tr\u00e8s belle composition de Thomas Kiennast souligne \u00e9galement cette \u00e9volution des mentalit\u00e9s et de l\u2019histoire de la Femme en ouvrant le film sur un espace ferm\u00e9 o\u00f9 les femmes (corset\u00e9es qui plus est) sont enferm\u00e9es dans un monde qui les domine avant que le cadre large des vastes environnements naturels les lib\u00e8re de leurs contraintes sociales.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Si la dur\u00e9e du film se fait quelque peu sentir dans la deuxi\u00e8me partie, \u00ab Sissi &amp; Moi \u00bb reste une proposition int\u00e9ressante offrant un point de vue intrigant sur la plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bre \u2018kaiserin\u2019 qui risque malheureusement de rester dans l\u2019ombre de \u00ab Corsage \u00bb. Une romance historique multilingue d\u00e9cal\u00e9e dont l\u2019approche r\u00e9ussit \u00e0 revisiter la vie de l\u2019Imp\u00e9ratrice Sissi.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Rapha\u00ebl Sallenave<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-42480e6 elementor-widget__width-initial exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"42480e6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Far from Romy Schneider&rsquo;s 1950s portrayal, Empress Elisabeth of Austria \u2013 better known as Sisi \u2013 now inspires several feminist interpretations. After the Austrian Marie Kreutzer last year, Germany&rsquo;s Frauke Finsterwalder takes up some elements of the anachronistic repertoire featured in the film \u201cCorsage\u201d with her modern inclinations and an energetic, contemporary soundtrack. Comparisons between the two films are inevitable, as they offer a similar vision of this unyielding figure in popular imagination. But the originality of \u201cSisi &amp; I\u201d comes precisely from this \u00ab\u00a0I\u00a0\u00bb, which introduces an external point of view by focusing the narrative on the handmaiden, thus providing another perspective on Sisi.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">When, at the end of the 19th century, Countess Irma Szt\u00e1ray is chosen as the lady-in-waiting to the Empress, the latter flees male company to live surrounded by women, far from the stifling conventions of the Court. Irma is then sent to Corfu, Greece, far from the imperial etiquette in which she was raised. The Empress&rsquo;s frugal, sporty and mischievous way of life opens up new horizons for her. Underneath the initial challenges, a complicity is born that could turn into fanatical love&#8230;<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Mixing historical fact with pure fiction, \u201cSisi &amp; I\u201d takes an offbeat, free-spirited approach, far removed from the glitz and glamour of the imperial dinners of the time and the lush settings of most royal biopics. The film also features no period music, instead opting for an English-speaking pop\/rock soundtrack exclusively made up of female voices, once again refocusing the narrative on the story of the empress and her maid rather than on imperial society. Above all, it&rsquo;s the story of this duo \u2013 led by the excellent Sandra H\u00fcller, again in a very different role this year (Anatomy of a Fall; The Zone of Interest) and a brilliant Susanne Wolff (Das Fremede in mir; Styx) \u2013 whose relationship leads to major alterations in style and attitude.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">These transformations include a shift in clothing from heavy period accoutrements to a sleeker, lighter, more flexible (and more neutral, too?) style. Costume designer Tanja Hausner&rsquo;s richly colored creations tell much of the story here, blurring eras with aplomb, as delicate period corsetry gives way to anachronistic outfits. Thomas Kiennast&rsquo;s beautiful framing also emphasizes this evolution in mindset and in the history of women, opening the film in a closed space where women (corseted, no less) are locked up in a world that dominates them, before the wide frame of vast natural environments frees them from their social constraints.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Although the film&rsquo;s length is somewhat felt in the second half, \u201cSisi &amp; I\u201d remains an interesting proposition offering an intriguing take on the most famous &lsquo;kaiserin&rsquo;, which unfortunately runs the risk of remaining in the shadow of \u00ab\u00a0Corsage\u00a0\u00bb. An off-kilter, multilingual historical romance whose approach succeeds in revisiting the life of Empress Sisi.<\/div><\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Rapha\u00ebl Sallenave<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section
