Il faut \u00e9videmment ajouter \u00e0 cette liste Ken Loach qui pr\u00e9sentait au festival de Cannes son dernier film ad\u00e9quatement intitul\u00e9 \u00ab The Old Oak \u00bb (litt. \u2018Le vieux ch\u00eane). Le r\u00e9alisateur anglais conclut une carri\u00e8re de pr\u00e8s de 60 ans avec 35 films, dont 5 prim\u00e9s \u00e0 Cannes et 2 Palmes d\u2019Or. Si son dernier est reparti bredouille du festival, il poursuit une nouvelle fois son style devenu si caract\u00e9ristique de r\u00e9alisme social \u00e0 la fronti\u00e8re du documentaire au sein de la classe ouvri\u00e8re britannique.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00ab The Old Oak \u00bb appartient ainsi \u00e0 une trilogie produite entre le Royaume-Uni, la France et la Belgique et film\u00e9e par Robbie Ryan avec des acteurs non-professionnels apr\u00e8s \u00ab Moi, Daniel Blake \u00bb sur les aides sociales et d\u2019emploi et \u00ab Sorry We Missed You \u00bb sur l\u2019ub\u00e9risation du travail. Ce nouveau film, une nouvelle fois \u00e9crit par Paul Laverty, nous ram\u00e8ne dans une petite bourgade aux briques rouges du Nord-Est de l\u2019Angleterre ravag\u00e9 par la crise industrielle. Nous sommes en 2016 (l\u2019ann\u00e9e du r\u00e9f\u00e9rendum du Brexit), TJ tient d\u00e9sormais \u00e0 bout de bras son pub, dernier espace public du village o\u00f9 les habitu\u00e9s vivent dans la m\u00e9moire d\u2019un pass\u00e9 r\u00e9volu : celui de l\u2019\u00e9conomie mini\u00e8re et des grandes gr\u00e8ves. Quand Yara et d\u2019autres r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s syriens arrivent au village dans leur fuite de la guerre contre le r\u00e9gime d\u2019Assad, le village se divise, les tensions montent, et la pauvret\u00e9 se trompe d\u2019ennemi.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">D\u00e8s le d\u00e9part la situation est illustr\u00e9e par TJ qui s\u2019\u00e9vertue \u00e0 remettre en place la lettre \u2018K\u2019 de son enseigne, il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;une solution temporaire \u00e0 une situation fonci\u00e8rement bris\u00e9e. Mais d\u00e8s la sc\u00e8ne d\u2019introduction, Ken Loach t\u00e9moigne ses ann\u00e9es de lutte par le cin\u00e9ma avec son alter-ego Yara et son appareil photo qu\u2019elle utilise pour refl\u00e9ter l\u2019espoir et la force des gens apr\u00e8s avoir vu de ses propres yeux les horreurs de la guerre. C\u2019est l\u2019unique r\u00f4le qu\u2019il donne \u00e0 la photographie dans ce film avec en parall\u00e8le, les photographies souvenirs de TJ qui romancent les gr\u00e8ves alors que leurs \u00e9checs sont visibles partout ailleurs dans le village. Le film met en sc\u00e8ne ce parall\u00e8le entre deux populations \u00e0 premi\u00e8re vue tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rente mais qui partagent finalement les m\u00eames cicatrices des enjeux g\u00e9opolitiques et lois du march\u00e9 qui les d\u00e9passent. R\u00e9fl\u00e9chissant comme d\u2019habitude \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle globale tout en \u0153uvrant \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle locale, Loach regroupe ces deux communaut\u00e9s dans une convergence des luttes et une solidarit\u00e9 qui ne peuvent s\u2019envisager que collectivement.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Alors oui dans une filmographie exceptionnelle comme la sienne, ce dernier film n\u2019est pas le meilleur, le plus fort, ou le plus bouleversant, mais il touche n\u00e9anmoins par son regard juste, son talentueux duo Dave Turner &amp; Ebla Mari, et sa profonde foi dans ses valeurs humanistes. Of course, Ken Loach must also be added to this list, as he premiered his latest film, appropriately entitled \u201cThe Old Oak\u201d, at the Cannes Film Festival. The English director concludes a career spanning almost 60 years with 35 movies, including 5 Cannes awards and 2 Palmes d&rsquo;Or. Although his latest film left the festival empty-handed, it once again carries on his characteristic style of social realism, bordering on documentary, in the heart of the British working class.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u201cThe Old Oak\u201d is thus part of a loose trilogy produced between the UK, France and Belgium and shot by Robbie Ryan with non-professional actors after \u201cI, Daniel Blake\u201d dealing with welfare and employment benefits and \u201cSorry We Missed You\u201d tackling the uberization of labour. This new film, once again written by Paul Laverty, takes us back to the northeast of England, in a small red-brick town ravaged by industrial crisis. It&rsquo;s 2016 (the year of the Brexit referendum), and TJ is now running his pub from scratch, the last public space in the village where regulars live in the memory of a bygone past: that of the mining economy and the great strikes. When Yara and other Syrian refugees arrive in the village on the run from the war against Assad&rsquo;s regime, the village becomes divided, tensions rise, and poverty takes on the wrong enemy.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">From the outset the situation is illustrated by TJ struggling to put the letter &lsquo;K&rsquo; back on his sign, this is a temporary solution to a situation that is fundamentally broken. But right from the opening scene, Ken Loach bears witness to his years of struggle through cinema with his alter-ego Yara and her camera, which she uses to capture the hope and strength of people after seeing the horrors of war with her own eyes. This is the only role he gives to photography in this movie, with in parallel, TJ&rsquo;s souvenir photographs which romanticize the strikes while their failures are visible everywhere else in the village. The film stages this parallel between two populations that at first glance seem very different, but who in the end share the same scars of geopolitical issues and market laws that affect them all. Thinking, as usual, globally while acting locally, Loach brings these two communities together in a convergence of struggles and a solidarity that can only be understood collectively.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Granted, in an exceptional filmography like his, this latest film is not the best, the strongest or the most moving, but it nonetheless hits home with its fair look, its talented duo of Dave Turner &amp; Ebla Mari, and its deep faith in its humanist values. Although sometimes a little didactic and schematic, nothing rings false in this portrait of a divided UK, where Loach chooses to see light and hope.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div
