N\u00e9anmoins, la grossesse d\u2019\u00c1ngela et la naissance de leur fille Ona vont consid\u00e9rablement fragiliser leur relation. Comme souvent, vous direz-vous, que ce soit au cin\u00e9ma ou dans la vraie vie. Mais, d\u00e9tail important (pr\u00e9cis\u00e9 par ailleurs dans le titre du film), \u00c1ngela est atteinte d\u2019un handicap invisible : elle est sourde, tandis qu\u2019H\u00e9ctor est entendant.<\/p><p>\u00ab Sorda \u00bb met ici en lumi\u00e8re des personnes souvent invisibilis\u00e9es ou rel\u00e9gu\u00e9es au second plan dans le septi\u00e8me art : les sourds et malentendants, et leurs difficult\u00e9s du quotidien. \u00c1ngela p\u00e2tit par exemple du manque d\u2019adaptation des personnes justement qualifi\u00e9es pour l\u2019aider et l\u2019accompagner (telles que les audioproth\u00e9sistes), elle redoute son accouchement de peur de ne pas comprendre les consignes des sages-femmes, mais elle est aussi jug\u00e9e par les entendants lorsqu\u2019elle sort en bo\u00eete de nuit \u00ab malgr\u00e9 \u00bb sa privation d\u2019ou\u00efe.<\/p><p>Or, \u00eatre priv\u00e9e d\u2019ou\u00efe ne veut pas dire \u00eatre priv\u00e9e de vie ou de sensations. \u00c1ngela a une famille qui l\u2019aime, des amis qui la soutiennent, des \u00e9motions qui la traversent. Alors lorsque na\u00eet Ona, la difficile r\u00e9alit\u00e9 explose une nouvelle fois \u00e0 la figure d\u2019\u00c1ngela, d\u00e9cal\u00e9e entre sa bulle insonore et un monde d\u2019entendants dans lequel va aussi grandir sa fille.<\/p><p>Le long-m\u00e9trage est par cons\u00e9quent con\u00e7u en grande partie pour et par des malentendants. La tr\u00e8s grande majorit\u00e9 des dialogues est ainsi parl\u00e9 en langue des signes, d\u2019o\u00f9 des placements de cam\u00e9ra facilitant le visionnage de ces \u00e9changes, ce qui cr\u00e9e des sc\u00e8nes parfois impressionnantes pour qui n\u2019est pas \u00ab locuteur \u00bb, comme celle d\u2019une violente et \u00ab gestuelle \u00bb dispute entre \u00c1ngela et H\u00e9ctor. Le film est donc diffus\u00e9 uniquement en version sous-titr\u00e9e (par Condor en France) afin d\u2019inclure tous les publics, et un choix technique perturbant vient enfin souligner le propos de l\u2019intrigue \u00e0 sa conclusion. However, \u00c1ngela\u2019s pregnancy and the birth of their daughter Ona will put a serious strain on their relationship. As is often the case, you might say, whether in the movies or in real life. But here\u2019s an important detail (also indicated in the film\u2019s title): \u00c1ngela has an invisible disability \u2013 she is deaf, while H\u00e9ctor is hearing.<\/p><p>\u201cSorda\u201d shines a light on people who are often overlooked or relegated to the background in cinema: the deaf and hard-of-hearing, and the challenges they face in their daily lives. \u00c1ngela, for example, suffers from the lack of accommodation by the very people qualified to help and support her (such as hearing aid specialists); she dreads giving birth for fear of not understanding the midwives\u2019 instructions, but she is also judged by hearing people when she goes out to nightclubs \u201cdespite\u201d her hearing loss.<\/p><p>But not being able to hear doesn\u2019t mean not being able to live or feel. \u00c1ngela has a family that loves her, friends who support her, and emotions that run deep within her. So when Ona is born, the harsh reality hits \u00c1ngela once again, caught between her silent bubble and a world of hearing people in which her daughter will also grow up.<\/p><p>The film is therefore largely designed for and by hearing-impaired people. The vast majority of the dialogue is thus delivered in sign language, which calls for camera angles that make it easier to follow these exchanges \u2013 creating scenes that can be quite striking for those who are not sign language \u201cspeakers\u201d, such as the violent, \u201cgestural\u201d argument between \u00c1ngela and H\u00e9ctor. The film is therefore released exclusively in a subtitled version to include all audiences, and a jarring technical choice ultimately underscores the plot\u2019s message in its conclusion. However, the final, maternal scene is meant to be positive and is sure to bring a smile to the faces of both hearing and hearing-impaired viewers alike.<\/p><p>Axel Chevalier<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\">ESPA\u00d1OL<\/p><p>\u00c1ngela y H\u00e9ctor forman una pareja perfecta: se quieren con locura, tienen una complicidad incomparable y una comunicaci\u00f3n sin igual; incluso est\u00e1n esperando un hijo. Sin embargo, el embarazo de \u00c1ngela y el nacimiento de su hija Ona debilitar\u00e1n considerablemente su relaci\u00f3n. Como suele ocurrir, pensar\u00e1n ustedes, ya sea en el cine o en la vida real. Pero, un detalle importante (que, por cierto, se especifica en el t\u00edtulo de la pel\u00edcula), es que \u00c1ngela tiene una discapacidad invisible: es sorda, mientras que H\u00e9ctor oye.<\/p><p>\u00abSorda\u00bb pone aqu\u00ed de relieve a personas que a menudo quedan invisibilizadas o relegadas a un segundo plano en el s\u00e9ptimo arte: las personas sordas y con discapacidad auditiva, y sus dificultades cotidianas. \u00c1ngela, por ejemplo, sufre por la falta de adaptaci\u00f3n de las personas debidamente cualificadas para ayudarla y acompa\u00f1arla (como los audioprotesistas); teme el parto por miedo a no entender las instrucciones de las comadronas, pero tambi\u00e9n es juzgada por las personas oyentes cuando sale de discoteca \u00aba pesar\u00bb de su discapacidad auditiva.<\/p><p>Sin embargo, no poder o\u00edr no significa no poder vivir ni sentir. \u00c1ngela tiene una familia que la quiere, amigos que la apoyan y emociones que la invaden. As\u00ed que, cuando nace Ona, la dura realidad vuelve a golpear de lleno a \u00c1ngela, atrapada entre su burbuja de silencio y un mundo de personas oyentes en el que tambi\u00e9n crecer\u00e1 su hija.<\/p><p>Por lo tanto, el largometraje est\u00e1 concebido en gran parte para y por personas con discapacidad auditiva. La gran mayor\u00eda de los di\u00e1logos se desarrollan en lengua de signos, lo que justifica unos encuadres que facilitan el seguimiento de estos intercambios y da lugar a escenas a veces impresionantes para quienes no son \u00abhablantes\u00bb de esta lengua, como la de una violenta y \u00abgestual\u00bb discusi\u00f3n entre \u00c1ngela y H\u00e9ctor. Por lo tanto, la pel\u00edcula se estrena \u00fanicamente en versi\u00f3n subtitulada para incluir a todos los p\u00fablicos, y una elecci\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica inquietante acaba por subrayar el mensaje de la trama en su desenlace.
