un divertissement \u2026 il peut provoquer, d\u00e9ranger, et plonger son public dans un profond malaise pour le bousculer comme le fait \u00ab La jeune femme \u00e0 l\u2019aiguille \u00bb, v\u00e9ritable choc esth\u00e9tique et narratif. C\u2019est l\u2019histoire d\u2019une descente aux enfers pour une jeune ouvri\u00e8re qui lutte pour survivre. Apr\u00e8s avoir perdu son mari, elle a du mal \u00e0 joindre les deux bouts, vit une histoire d\u2019amour humiliante et se retrouve chass\u00e9e de son logement, soudain seule, sans ressources. Ses rep\u00e8res moraux vont vite \u00eatre chamboul\u00e9s \u2026<\/p><p>Apr\u00e8s avoir r\u00e9alis\u00e9 un premier film en su\u00e9dois, puis un second en polonais, Magnus von Horn \u2013 le r\u00e9alisateur de l\u2019excellent \u00ab Sweat \u00bb \u2013 nous emm\u00e8ne cette fois au Danemark dans un film d\u2019\u00e9poque dont seulement quelques indicateurs temporels nous renseignent sur la date. C\u2019est un film qui ne dit pas tout \u00e0 son public tout de suite et prend souvent des directions inattendues. De m\u00eame, il multiplie les th\u00e9matiques, des rapports de classes aux ravages de la guerre, en passant \u00e9videmment par la condition (et la vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9) des femmes en interrogeant l\u2019instinct maternel, et en recoupant une affaire criminelle inspir\u00e9e de faits r\u00e9els. Mais l\u2019analyse sociale laisse rapidement place \u00e0 la peinture d\u2019un tableau historique d\u2019une noirceur troublante. Malgr\u00e9 ce que le titre pourrait sugg\u00e9rer, ce n\u2019est en effet pas un film sur l\u2019avortement mais plut\u00f4t sur les \u00eatres non d\u00e9sir\u00e9s et le traitement qui leur est r\u00e9serv\u00e9 dans la soci\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-19673 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Snapshot_3542.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"775\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Snapshot_3542.png 1500w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Snapshot_3542-300x155.png 300w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Snapshot_3542-1024x529.png 1024w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Snapshot_3542-768x397.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/p><p>Port\u00e9 par deux superbes performances tout en retenue de Victoria Carmen Sonne et Trine Dyrholm, le film nous embarque dans une sombre atmosph\u00e8re o\u00f9 les d\u00e9cors de Jagna Dobesz fa\u00e7onnent un d\u00e9dale de ruelles et recoins qui respirent la crasse. Cette crasse est soulign\u00e9e \u00e9galement par le choix du directeur de la photographie Michal Dymek (EO ; A Real Pain) de filmer dans un noir &amp; blanc tr\u00e8s contrast\u00e9 rappelant l\u2019expressionnisme allemand. Le format d\u2019image 1 :44 (habituellement utilis\u00e9 pour l\u2019<em>Imax<\/em>) enferme d\u2019autant plus ces personnages dans ce monde d\u00e9shumanis\u00e9, et rappelle avec le noir &amp; blanc les films d\u2019\u00e9poque au point de recr\u00e9er la c\u00e9l\u00e8bre sc\u00e8ne de la \u00ab Sortie de l\u2019usine \u00bb des fr\u00e8res Lumi\u00e8re. C\u2019est un film p\u00e9niblement beau jusque dans sa partition musicale de Frederikke Hoffmeier (musicienne exp\u00e9rimentale danoise dont le nom de sc\u00e8ne est Puce Mary) coupl\u00e9e \u00e0 un montage son qui appuie sur l\u2019effroi, \u00e0 l\u2019image de certaines sc\u00e8nes o\u00f9 des visages distordus sont superpos\u00e9s tels des \u00ab Cri[s] \u00bb de Munch.<\/p><p>Ces \u00e9l\u00e9ments d\u2019\u00e9poque m\u00eal\u00e9s \u00e0 une musique \u00e9lectronique forment un parall\u00e8le entre ces sujets historiques et notre actualit\u00e9. Ce n\u2019est donc pas uniquement un drame social historique, et avec la distance maintenue avec ses protagonistes ainsi que son jeu sur les apparences, \u00ab La jeune femme \u00e0 l\u2019aiguille \u00bb int\u00e8gre des arch\u00e9types du conte. Mais le prince y est l\u00e2che, le monstre sans visage au c\u0153ur pur, la sorci\u00e8re cach\u00e9e au milieu des douceurs \u2026 les g\u00e9n\u00e9reux sont repoussants quand on s\u2019\u00e9prend du diable dissimul\u00e9 derri\u00e8re une double fa\u00e7ade, ce qui nous renvoie \u00e0 notre volont\u00e9 de ne pas regarder en face les horreurs de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9. It\u2019s the story of a young worker\u2019s downfall as she struggles to survive. After losing her husband, she barely makes ends meet, experiences a humiliating love affair and finds herself thrown out of her home, suddenly alone and destitute. Her moral bearings are soon turned upside down\u2026<\/p><p>After making his first film in Swedish, followed by a second one in Polish, Magnus von Horn \u2013 director of the brilliant \u201cSweat\u201d \u2013 this time takes us to Denmark in a period film for which only a few time markers reveal the time. It\u2019s a film that doesn\u2019t tell its audience everything straight away, and often goes in unexpected directions. Likewise, it deals with a wide range of themes, from class relations to the ravages of war, as well obviously as the status (and vulnerability) of women, examining the maternal instinct and overlapping with a criminal case inspired by real events. But the social analysis quickly gives way to the painting of a disturbingly dark historical picture. Despite what the title might suggest, this is not a film about abortion, but rather about the unwanted and how society treats them.<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-19673 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Snapshot_3542.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"775\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Snapshot_3542.png 1500w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Snapshot_3542-300x155.png 300w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Snapshot_3542-1024x529.png 1024w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Snapshot_3542-768x397.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/p><p>Led by two excellent, quietly subdued performances from Victoria Carmen Sonne and Trine Dyrholm, the film takes us into a dark atmosphere where Jagna Dobesz\u2019s sets create a maze of alleyways and crannies that exude filth. This grime is also reflected in cinematographer Michal Dymek\u2019s (EO; A Real Pain) choice of high-contrast black &amp; white, reminiscent of German Expressionism. The 1:44 aspect ratio (usually used for Imax) further confines the characters in this dehumanized world, and with the black &amp; white it recalls period films to the point of recreating the Lumi\u00e8re brothers\u2019 famous \u201cExit from the Factory\u201d scene. This is a painfully beautiful film, right down to its score by Frederikke Hoffmeier (a Danish experimental musician whose pseudonym is Puce Mary), combined with a sound design that emphasizes fright, as in certain scenes where distorted faces are projected onto others echoing \u201cThe Scream[s]\u201d from Edvard Munch.<\/p><p>These period elements mixed with electronic music build a parallel between these historical subjects and our current times. It\u2019s therefore not just a historical social drama, and with the distance it creates with its protagonists as well as its emphasis on appearances, \u201cThe Girl with the Needle\u201d embodies the archetypes of fairy tales. But here, the prince is a coward, the faceless monster pure of heart, the witch hidden among sweets \u2026 the generous are repulsive when one falls in love with the devil hidden behind a double fa\u00e7ade, which brings us back to our unwillingness to face up to the horrors of society. With its many visceral scenes, this is a tough, unsettling film, a beautiful tale of doom that is both fascinating and harrowing. In other words, a hell of a movie.<\/p><p>Rapha\u00ebl
