Le <em>New Yorker<\/em> est un mouvement : on ne d\u00e9missionne pas du <em>New Yorker<\/em>. \u00bb<\/p><p>\u00c0 la veille des 100 ans du magazine iconique <em>The New Yorker<\/em>, Marshall Curry et ses \u00e9quipes ont investi les locaux du c\u00e9l\u00e8bre hebdomadaire iconoclaste, qui compte plus d\u2019un million d\u2019abonn\u00e9s.<\/p><p>Coproduit par Judd Apatow, le documentaire est un v\u00e9ritable \u00e9loge du c\u00e9l\u00e8bre magazine new-yorkais. V\u00e9ritable institution de la Grosse Pomme, le journal, fond\u00e9 en 1925, est aujourd\u2019hui toujours sur le devant de la sc\u00e8ne gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son style litt\u00e9raire et \u00e0 son approche singuli\u00e8re des sujets. Identifiable de tous pour son choix de couverture artistique, le magazine, aujourd\u2019hui dirig\u00e9 par David Remnick, poursuit son accroche contemporaine, guid\u00e9 par une redoutable excellence journalistique, trop souvent oubli\u00e9e ces temps-ci. Au-del\u00e0 de son avant-gardisme, le documentaire met en avant la fid\u00e9lit\u00e9 des membres du journal au fil des ann\u00e9es.<\/p><p>Sur le plan technique, le documentaire s\u00e9duit par sa fluidit\u00e9 et sa justesse. Les archives, patiemment choisies, font revivre le pass\u00e9 avec une douce intensit\u00e9, tandis que le montage tisse habilement un pont entre hier et aujourd\u2019hui. Les animations graphiques, l\u00e9g\u00e8res et po\u00e9tiques, viennent ponctuer le r\u00e9cit comme des respirations, \u00e9clairant subtilement les histoires sans jamais les surcharger.<\/p><p>Le seul b\u00e9mol revient sur le format du film : un choix unitaire qui ne permet peut-\u00eatre pas de s&rsquo;attarder avec pr\u00e9cision sur les forces vives du journal. Founded in 1925, the publication is a true Big Apple institution and remains at the forefront of the scene today thanks to its literary style and unique approach to topics. Recognizable to everyone for its artistic cover choices, the magazine, now helmed by David Remnick, carries on its contemporary focus, guided by terrific journalistic quality, which is too often forgotten these days. Beyond its avant-garde nature, the documentary highlights the loyalty of the magazine&rsquo;s staff over the years.<\/p><p>Technically speaking, the documentary captivates viewers with its smooth flow and precision. The carefully selected archive footage brings the past to life with gentle intensity, while the editing skillfully bridges the gap between yesterday and today. The light and poetic graphic animations add breathing space to the narrative, subtly illuminating the stories without ever overwhelming them.<\/p><p>The only downside is the film&rsquo;s format: a single-part choice that perhaps doesn&rsquo;t allow it to delve deeply into the driving forces behind the magazine. A series format would undoubtedly have allowed it to focus more on certain figures, such as Jon Lee Anderson, whom we follow briefly in his report on Syrian prisons following the fall of Bashar al-Assad&rsquo;s regime.<\/p><p>Apart from this technical aspect, which detracts from one layer of the <em>New Yorker<\/em>&lsquo;s narrative, Marshall Curry&rsquo;s film remains an enjoyable documentary, made with excellent narrative approach, covering the hundred-year history of a magazine like no other.<\/p><p>Sacha
