aujourd\u2019hui occup\u00e9 \u00e0 plus de 20% et que la Russie exige dor\u00e9navant que la nation jaune et bleue c\u00e8de dans des accords de paix tsaristes, le r\u00e9alisateur de \u00ab 20 jours \u00e0 Marioupol \u00bb nous plonge \u00e0 nouveau au c\u0153ur de ce conflit europ\u00e9en, cette fois \u00e0 hauteur de soldat, et lors de la contre-offensive ukrainienne de septembre 2023. Son film est \u00e0 nouveau construit comme un thriller au gr\u00e9 d\u2019un d\u00e9compte de distance \u00e0 l\u2019image de son titre, tel une structure dramatique de fiction. Mais c\u2019est bien une immersion dans la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 du chaos de cette guerre, que Mstyslav Chernov propose ici, avec ce bataillon de soldats qui doit traverser une \u00e9troite for\u00eat pour \u00e9viter les mines des champs et livrer un assaut frontal sur un petit village \u00e0 la fois si proche et si inatteignable.<\/p><p>D\u00e8s une interminable sc\u00e8ne d\u2019introduction, le ton est donn\u00e9\u00a0: c\u2019est un film \u00e9videmment lourd et dur, mais aussi \u00e9reintant par l\u2019intensit\u00e9 des sc\u00e8nes au sein desquelles il nous embarque. Il nous pr\u00e9cipite directement sur la ligne de front en nous plongeant dans un d\u00e9luge d\u2019artillerie et de drones. Un v\u00e9ritable chaos o\u00f9 la guerre de tranch\u00e9es rencontre la technologie d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui, o\u00f9 l\u2019ennemi est nulle part et partout\u00a0: dans les rares feuillages restants, dans les innombrables trous creus\u00e9s, dans les arbres plus morts que morts. Bien qu\u2019il y ait une respiration au milieu en se concentrant plus sur la dimension personnelle de la guerre aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de ces soldats enfouis sous terre, c\u2019est un cin\u00e9ma de front aux portes de la mort qui nous confronte \u00e0 de terribles images qui ne peuvent que prendre aux tripes. C\u2019est le r\u00e9cit d\u2019hommes en d\u00e9ficit de troupes et manque de moyens mais d\u2019abord arm\u00e9s de leur courage, pour conclure sur l\u2019assaut final int\u00e9gralement suivi par les journalistes. Mais le documentaire ne se limite pas seulement aux cam\u00e9ras embarqu\u00e9es avec la brigade, il inclut \u00e9galement de nombreuses cam\u00e9ras fix\u00e9es sur les casques des soldats d\u2019autres unit\u00e9s venues sur ces m\u00eames lieux lors des mois pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents qui furent cruciaux pour le gain \u2013 absolument primordial pour les soldats sur place \/ et d\u2019apparence minuscule pour nous spectateurs \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle nationale \u2013 de quelques centaines de m\u00e8tres d\u2019arbres morts.<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-24957 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Snapshot_5197.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"775\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Snapshot_5197.png 1500w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Snapshot_5197-300x155.png 300w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Snapshot_5197-1024x529.png 1024w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Snapshot_5197-768x397.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/p><p>Si les hommes se battent bien pour remporter un gain tactique, lib\u00e9rer une ville, r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer un bout de for\u00eat, ils ne se battent finalement et concr\u00e8tement pour rien d\u2019autre qu\u2019un champ de ruines et un cimeti\u00e8re en friches. Certes, ils se battent pour leur pays, mais sur le front, leur pays c\u2019est Verdun. L\u2019objectif n\u2019est, au fond, plus le terrain lui-m\u00eame. Le combat a finalement plus lieu pour le symbole et le principe m\u00eame de pouvoir se battre pour r\u00e9sister et garder espoir, puisque l\u2019objectif global et lointain est ici compl\u00e8tement invisible. Mais il reste important, m\u00eame vital dans ce cas-ci, de lutter et prendre l\u2019objectif pour que le pays sache qu\u2019un nom de ville a \u00e9t\u00e9 lib\u00e9r\u00e9. Car m\u00eame si les troupes arrivent \u00e0 leur objectif, ici Andriivka, le fait est qu\u2019il n\u2019y est plus vraiment. Ils ont beau atteindre \u2013 ou non \u2013 Andriivka, Andriivka n\u2019est plus l\u00e0. Et comme le montre une succession de plans a\u00e9riens sur les campagnes et villes d\u00e9vast\u00e9es, il n\u2019y a plus de population, plus de civils, plus d\u2019humains, plus d\u2019animaux, plus de vivant ou m\u00eame de b\u00e2timents dans ces villes-objectifs. Il n\u2019en reste que le nom. L\u2019h\u00e9ro\u00efsme ne se trouve alors pas dans le drapeau plant\u00e9 sur cet objectif sp\u00e9cifique mais plut\u00f4t sur le fait de continuer apr\u00e8s l\u2019avoir plant\u00e9 et apr\u00e8s qu\u2019il soit tomb\u00e9.<\/p><p>Si le r\u00e9alisateur livre \u00e0 nouveau une retentissante bataille pour l\u2019image, il questionne dans ce second t\u00e9moignage moins le poids politique et moral des images, mais montre d\u2019autant plus ce que co\u00fbte le geste de filmer pour partager, ce que vit au quotidien une nation arm\u00e9e sur un front\u2013 \u00e0 jamais ? \u2013 gel\u00e9 et le cauchemar dont la population ne peut se r\u00e9veiller, notamment \u00e0 travers un plan de cimeti\u00e8re en plong\u00e9e au gr\u00e9 d\u2019une brise soufflant sur les drapeaux des martyrs d\u2019une nation inhum\u00e9e. C\u2019est une \u0153uvre de m\u00e9moire sur les limbes de la guerre qui questionne en filigrane o\u00f9 se situe la victoire d\u2019un tel conflit. Sur le territoire ? Sur le plan militaire et politique ? Ou sur le plan identitaire \u00e0 travers la survie de la nation ukrainienne ? Apr\u00e8s le point de vue des civils attaqu\u00e9s, puis celui des soldats ou plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment des civils qui ont pris les armes, le troisi\u00e8me volet de cette funeste trilogie sera-t-il alors sous le point de vue de la nation ? His film is once again built like a thriller, counting down the distance as suggested by its title, like a dramatic fictional narrative. But what Mstyslav Chernov offers here is an immersion in the reality of the chaos of this war, with a battalion of soldiers who must cross a narrow forest to avoid minefields and launch a frontal assault on a small village that is both so close and so out of reach.<\/p><p>From the very first never-ending scene, the tone is set: this is obviously a heavy and tough film, but also exhausting due to the intensity of the scenes it takes us through. It throws us straight onto the front line, submerging us in a storm of artillery and drones. It&rsquo;s utter chaos, where trench warfare meets modern technology, where the enemy is nowhere and everywhere: in the sparse remaining foliage, in the countless holes dug into the ground, in the trees that are dead beyond death. Although there is a respite in the middle, focusing more on the personal dimension of war alongside these soldiers buried underground, this is cinema from the front lines, at the gates of death, confronting us with horrific images that can only be gut-wrenching. It is the story of men who are short on troops and resources but armed first and foremost with their courage, leading up to the final assault, which is covered in its entirety by the journalists.
