By adopting the perspective of an investigator from the <em>IGPN<\/em>, the French police internal affairs unit, which is very rare in cinema, the director of \u201cThe Night of the 12<sup>th<\/sup>\u201d takes us deep into the bureaucratic labyrinths of a department that is supposed to safeguard the integrity of the police force.<\/p><p>In the aftermath of Act V of the Yellow Vests movement, St\u00e9phanie, an investigator with the General Inspectorate of the Police, is tasked with establishing responsibility for the injury of a man hit in the head by a blast ball shot. Thus begins a meticulous and dizzying investigation, in which each testimony, each procedure, each hesitation reveals the flaws in the system.<\/p><p>The strength of \u201cCase 137\u201d lies as much in the precision of its dramaturgy and the impact of its thriller elements as in the tone and perspective it takes. Underneath an apparent objectivity, Dominique Moll asserts a clear bias: to portray this inaccessibility to justice and the failures of the institution responsible for guaranteeing it. The \u201cOnly the Animals\u201d director depicts here this judicial flaw through an institution at the mercy of an authoritarian union and state violence that is blind to its own
