\u00ab Marche ou Cr\u00e8ve \u00bb impose son concept : une route, des jeunes hommes qui marchent, et la mort pour ceux qui ralentissent. L\u2019id\u00e9e est forte, mais le film peine \u00e0 la faire vivre. Tr\u00e8s vite, la mise en sc\u00e8ne tourne en rond, prisonni\u00e8re de son propre dispositif. En restant uniquement sur la route, sans jamais explorer ce qu\u2019il y a autour, le r\u00e9alisateur des \u00ab Hunger Games \u00bb finit par \u00e9touffer son sujet.<\/p><p>La m\u00e9taphore d\u2019une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 obs\u00e9d\u00e9e par la performance et la gloire militaire manque de profondeur et d\u2019une absence cruelle de subtilit\u00e9. Le film r\u00e9p\u00e8te son message jusqu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019usure, sans jamais le nuancer ni le remettre en jeu. Ce qui devait \u00eatre une critique reste ainsi au stade d\u2019un simple concept lancinant.<\/p><p>Heureusement, le duo principal Cooper Alexander Hoffman et David Jonsson sauve l\u2019ensemble d\u2019une mise en sc\u00e8ne chronophage. Les deux acteurs jouent avec justesse et donnent au film une \u00e9motion que le sc\u00e9nario ne parvient pas \u00e0 construire seul. Leur fatigue, leurs regards, leurs quelques \u00e9changes suffisent \u00e0 cr\u00e9er de l\u2019attachement dans cette marche infinie o\u00f9 la seule issue semble \u00eatre la construction d\u2019une solide amiti\u00e9. The idea is powerful, but the film struggles to bring it fully to life. Very quickly, the staging goes round in circles, trapped by its own device. By focusing solely on the road, without ever exploring what lies beyond, the \u201cHunger Games\u201d director ends up stifling his subject.<\/p><p>The metaphor of a society obsessed with performance and military glory lacks depth and is sorely lacking in subtlety. The film repeats its message ad nauseam, without ever nuancing it or calling it into question. What was intended to be a critique thus remains a mere insistent concept.<\/p><p>Fortunately, the main duo played by Cooper Alexander Hoffman and David Jonsson save the film from its time-consuming staging. The two actors deliver excellent performances and bring an emotional depth to the film that the script alone fails to achieve. Their fatigue, their glances, and their few exchanges are enough to create a sense of attachment in this endless walk, where the only way out seems to be the building of a strong friendship. Without them, \u201cThe Long Walk\u201d would be a mechanical walk, with no breath or soul.<\/p><p>In short, this is a film that builds on an interesting idea but runs out of steam far too quickly and only stands up thanks to the sincerity of its performers, even though they too often border on overacting.<\/p><p>Sacha
