aujourd\u2019hui un go\u00fbt bien diff\u00e9rent \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re du r\u00e9cent \u2018plan de paix\u2019 lorsque l\u2019on quitte la salle au son des drones survolant quotidiennement et incessamment la bande de Gaza et concluant \u00e0 tr\u00e8s juste titre ce t\u00e9moignage de l\u2019int\u00e9rieur d\u2019une guerre qui n\u2019en \u00e9tait pas vraiment une \u2026<\/p><p>Lorsque la documentariste iranienne exil\u00e9e en France Sepideh Farsi tente en vain de se rendre \u00e0 Gaza pour y documenter la situation de la population civile, elle n\u2019a d\u2019autre choix que d\u2019entrer en contact avec les jeunes gazaouis survivant au jour le jour. De ces conversations t\u00e9l\u00e9phoniques est n\u00e9 un documentaire qui va se concentrer sur ses \u00e9changes avec une jeune photographe du Nord de Gaza Fatem Hassona. Cette fragile correspondance d\u2019appels vid\u00e9o suspendue aux al\u00e9as du r\u00e9seau constitue ainsi l\u2019int\u00e9gralit\u00e9 d\u2019une narration qui y ajoute quelques images des cha\u00eenes de t\u00e9l\u00e9 rythmant les \u00e9v\u00e9nements. D\u2019avril 2024 \u00e0 avril 2025, elle filme ainsi ses conversations t\u00e9l\u00e9phoniques avec la jeune femme qui devient ses yeux \u00e0 Gaza. Si le dispositif s\u2019av\u00e8re d\u2019une grande simplicit\u00e9 et sobri\u00e9t\u00e9, il permet non seulement de montrer les conditions de vie \u00e0 Gaza (p\u00e9nuries alimentaires, coupures d\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9, bombardements cibl\u00e9s ou aveugles) comme aucun article ne peut r\u00e9ellement le faire, nous confronte aussi \u00e0 notre propre impuissance face \u00e0 notre confort ext\u00e9rieur \u00e0 Gaza, mais il cr\u00e9e surtout un lien fort et quasi quotidien avec cette femme qui r\u00e9siste \u00e0 sa fa\u00e7on en documentant cette occupation en faisant preuve d\u2019un courage et d\u2019une dignit\u00e9 in\u00e9branlables face \u00e0 la violence et la mort. Nous patientons ainsi avec la r\u00e9alisatrice pendant les d\u00e9lais de connexion, esp\u00e9rons voir le visage de Fatem appara\u00eetre, et redoutons \u00e0 chaque appel que ce ne soit le dernier.<\/p><p>Au fil de ces \u00e9changes maintenus pendant un an, un lien se tisse peu \u00e0 peu entre l\u2019exil\u00e9e perse de 60 ans et la prisonni\u00e8re gazaouie de 24 ans. Un parall\u00e8le entre ces deux femmes appara\u00eet alors entre l\u2019enfermement de l\u2019une &amp; l\u2019exil de l\u2019autre, et leurs relations aux pouvoirs locaux que ce soit le r\u00e9gime des Mollahs qui l\u2019emp\u00eache de retourner dans son pays natal pour l\u2019une, ou le poing de fer de Netanyahou et la main mise d\u2019un Hamas qui ne trouve pas gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ses yeux pour l\u2019autre. C\u2019est ainsi, aussi, un film sur la construction d\u2019une puissante sororit\u00e9 entre deux femmes dont les situations oppos\u00e9es se refl\u00e8tent par la trag\u00e9die. Elles parlent ainsi de tout pendant des heures, nouant une solide amiti\u00e9 qui d\u00e9montre une \u00e9coute et une communication transcendant les fronti\u00e8res, les diff\u00e9rences et les religions entre une agnostique ayant fait le choix de fuir un r\u00e9gime religieux d\u00e8s ses 18 ans et une musulmane assumant pleinement sa foi.<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-23058 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Snapshot_4787.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"775\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Snapshot_4787.png 1500w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Snapshot_4787-300x155.png 300w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Snapshot_4787-1024x529.png 1024w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Snapshot_4787-768x397.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/p><p>La derni\u00e8re conversation remonte alors au 15 avril dernier lorsque la r\u00e9alisatrice annonce \u00e0 Fatem que son documentaire a \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 au festival de Cannes dans le cadre des projections de l\u2019ACID. Dans la nuit qui suit, Tsahal r\u00e9duit alors en cendres les joies de cette derni\u00e8re, changeant par la m\u00eame occasion \u00e0 jamais le sens de ce film. S\u2019il \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 par son dispositif une immersion particuli\u00e8rement poignante au c\u0153ur du conflit et repr\u00e9sentait en cela d\u00e9j\u00e0 un documentaire n\u00e9cessaire, il en devient un document-hommage-posthume, et ainsi un film de fant\u00f4me, une \u0153uvre de m\u00e9moire \u2026 car finalement la violence qu\u2019Isra\u00ebl a d\u00e9cha\u00een\u00e9 durant les treize mois de ce t\u00e9moignage consistait pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment \u00e0 tout raser, \u00e0 effacer un peuple.<\/p><p>Si le synopsis officiel r\u00e9v\u00e8le en effet la conclusion du documentaire, l\u2019enjeu du film ne r\u00e9side pas tant dans ce faux suspense, mais se situe plut\u00f4t dans le portrait d\u2019un \u00eatre humain dont la vie a, \u00e0 jamais, \u00e9t\u00e9 chamboul\u00e9e. Oui le film montre la guerre de l\u2019int\u00e9rieur, mais il fait surtout de la parole de Fatem son c\u0153ur. On y suit sa vie personnelle, ses pertes et manques mais aussi son inexorable d\u00e9sir de vie et de d\u00e9couverte, ainsi que ses passions artistiques pour les po\u00e8mes, les chansons, et avant tout la photographie. Ses photos d\u2019une bande de Gaza en ruines ponctuent d\u2019ailleurs le r\u00e9cit et l\u2019a\u00e8re entre les conversations t\u00e9l\u00e9phoniques, les bruits de guerre et les annonces mortif\u00e8res \u2013 bien que le film aurait pu s\u2019appuyer encore plus dessus pour fluidifier d\u2019autant plus la trame, varier la mise en sc\u00e8ne, et illustrer \u00e0 la fois le propos tenu par la jeune femme ainsi que son talent artistique.<\/p><p>Ce portrait \u00e9tonnamment lumineux d\u2019une femme toujours pr\u00eate \u00e0 rire (y compris de sa situation quotidienne) fait \u00e9tat d\u2019un peuple qui s\u2019est habitu\u00e9 \u00e0 sa condition bien qu\u2019il ne s\u2019y fera jamais vraiment. C\u2019est tout le paradoxe de la banalit\u00e9 du mal, un terme pourtant con\u00e7u pour d\u00e9crire les antis\u00e9mites\u00a0! Mais ce d\u00e9calage entre la situation d\u00e9crite (et les sons en hors-champ) et cette gaiet\u00e9 de fa\u00e7ade, \u00e9volue progressivement \u00e0 mesure que ce visage des conversations vid\u00e9o se creuse sous l\u2019inqui\u00e9tude, la fatigue et le d\u00e9sarroi. Mais en d\u00e9pit des moments de d\u00e9sespoir ou de faiblesse physique que peut traverser Fatem, s\u2019il y a bien une image inoubliable qui marquera ce film, ce sera pour toujours son resplendissant sourire \u00e0 toute \u00e9preuve \u2026<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><p>Rapha\u00ebl Sallenave<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-42480e6 elementor-widget__width-initial exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"42480e6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><p>Reviewing such a film today feels very strange in light of the recent \u201cpeace plan\u201d, as we leave the theater to the sound of drones flying relentlessly over the Gaza Strip every day, bringing this testimony from the inside of a war that wasn\u2019t really one to a very fitting conclusion&#8230;<\/p><p>When Sepideh Farsi, an Iranian documentary filmmaker living in exile in France, tries unsuccessfully to travel to Gaza to document the situation of the civilian population, she has no choice but to get in touch over the phone with young Gazans who are surviving on a daily basis. These conversations spark a documentary that focuses on her exchanges with Fatem Hassona, a young photographer from northern Gaza. This precarious video call correspondence, dependent on the ups and downs of the network, provides the entirety of the narrative, along with a few images from television channels covering the events. From April 2024 to April 2025, she thus films her telephone conversations with the young woman who became her eyes in Gaza. While the set-up is very simple and straightforward, it not only shows the living conditions in Gaza (food shortages, power cuts, targeted or indiscriminate bombing) in a way that no article can really do, it also confronts us with our own powerlessness in the face of our comfort outside Gaza, but above all it creates a strong, almost daily bond with this woman who is resisting in her own way by documenting the occupation with unwavering courage and dignity in the face of violence and death. So, we wait patiently with the director during connection delays, hoping to see Fatem&rsquo;s face appear, and fearing with each call that it might be the last.<\/p><p>Over the course of a year of correspondence, a bond gradually develops between the 60-year-old Persian exile and the 24-year-old Gazan prisoner. It is, therefore, also a film about the building of a powerful sisterhood between two women whose opposing situations are reflected in tragedy. While it was already a particularly poignant immersion into the heart of the conflict and, as such, a much-needed documentary, it has now become a posthumous tribute, a ghost film, a work of memory&#8230; because ultimately, the violence that Israel unleashed during the thirteen months of this personal journey was precisely about wiping everything out, erasing a whole people.<\/p><p>While the official synopsis does indeed reveal the conclusion of the documentary, the film&rsquo;s focus is not so much on this false suspense, but rather on the portrait of a human being whose life has been forever disrupted. Yes, the film shows the war from the inside, but above all, it focuses on Fatem&rsquo;s own voice. We follow her personal life, her losses and shortcomings, but also her relentless desire for life and discovery, as well as her artistic passions for poetry, songs, and above all, photography. Her photos of a Gaza Strip in ruins punctuate the narrative and provide breathing space between telephone conversations, sounds of war, and news of bloodshed \u2013 although the film could have relied on them even more to make the plot flow more smoothly, vary the staging, and illustrate both the young woman&rsquo;s words and her artistic flair.<\/p><p>This surprisingly bright portrait of a woman who&rsquo;s always ready to laugh (even at her everyday situation) shows a people who&rsquo;ve gotten used to their condition, even though they&rsquo;ll never really get over it. But this disconnect between the situation described (and the off-screen sounds) and this fa\u00e7ade of cheerfulness gradually evolves as the face in the video conversations becomes etched with worry, fatigue, and distress. But despite the moments of despair or physical weakness that Fatem may experience, if there is one unforgettable image that will stand out in this film, it will forever be her radiant, unfailing
