Il pr\u00e9tend pouvoir d\u00e9montrer l\u2019existence d\u2019un trafic d\u2019\u00c9tat dirig\u00e9 par le chef de l\u2019Office. Si l\u2019int\u00e9gralit\u00e9 des noms est modifi\u00e9e, \u00ab Enqu\u00eate sur un scandale d\u2019\u00c9tat \u00bb s\u2019inspire ainsi de l\u2019affaire Fran\u00e7ois Thierry accus\u00e9 d\u2019avoir entretenu des liens avec l\u2019un des plus grands trafiquants d\u2019Europe et favoris\u00e9 l\u2019importation de dizaines de tonnes de stup\u00e9fiants sur le territoire fran\u00e7ais.<\/p><p>Apr\u00e8s sa sortie au FIFIB, le nouveau film de Thierry de Peretti reprend la formule de \u00ab fiction inspir\u00e9e de faits r\u00e9els \u00bb comme son pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent film \u00ab Une vie violente \u00bb. A la fronti\u00e8re entre documentaire et thriller journalistique, son film se concentre sur la relation entre un ancien infiltr\u00e9 des stups et un journaliste cherchant \u00e0 d\u00e9m\u00ealer cette affaire opaque. Mais finalement l\u2019enqu\u00eate s\u2019av\u00e8re sans grande r\u00e9v\u00e9lation ce qui peut d\u00e9ranger ou en tout cas surprendre car l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat du film n\u2019est en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 pas dans le suspense de son thriller.<\/p><p>Ce qui frappe dans ce presque-biopic c\u2019est en effet sa capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 restituer les doutes d\u2019une enqu\u00eate inachev\u00e9e. De nombreuses zones d\u2019ombres persistent ainsi sans que le r\u00e9alisateur ne cherche jamais \u00e0 les \u00e9lucider. Un choix d\u00e9stabilisant qui instille la confusion chez le spectateur mais int\u00e9ressant dans son refus de trancher ou de juger pour nous pr\u00e9senter un monde fait de multiples masques o\u00f9 chaque personnage est finalement vu sous plusieurs angles nous questionnant et maintenant un doute constant. Le premier aper\u00e7u qu\u2019on a de ce journaliste est ainsi son app\u00e9tence pour les soir\u00e9es, puis on le voit comme un grand bosseur, quelqu\u2019un de rigoureux pour enfin questionner son app\u00e9tit pour les scandales et sa propre mise en avant. A la fois la source et l\u2019accus\u00e9 de ce trio principal ont droit \u00e0 un traitement similaire et \u00e0 l\u2019arriv\u00e9e \u00ab Enqu\u00eate sur un scandale d\u2019\u00c9tat \u00bb ne ressemble pas au film d\u2019investigation attendu.<\/p><p>Film\u00e9 en 4\/3 et avec de nombreux panoramiques lents en plan-s\u00e9quence, le film se distingue par ailleurs par son esth\u00e9tique \u00e9pur\u00e9e avec la photographie de Claire Mathon (Portrait de la jeune fille en feu ; Spencer), mais \u00e9galement par son trio d\u2019acteurs principaux avec Roschdy Zem, Pio Marma\u00ef et Vincent Lindon qui livrent tous trois une remarquable performance. French customs seize seven tons of cannabis in the middle of Paris. The same day, a former narcotics undercover contacts a young journalist at Lib\u00e9ration. He claims to be able to demonstrate the existence of a state-run traffic run by the head of the Agency. Although all the names were changed, \u201cUndercover\u201d was inspired by the Fran\u00e7ois Thierry case, accused of having connections with one of the biggest drug traffickers in Europe and of facilitating the entry of dozens of tons of drugs into France.<\/p><p>After its FIFIB&rsquo;s premiere, Thierry de Peretti&rsquo;s latest feature repeats the formula of \u00ab\u00a0fiction inspired by real events\u00a0\u00bb like his previous one \u201cA violent life\u201d. At the frontier between documentary and journalistic thriller, his new film focuses on the relationship between a former undercover narcotics officer and a journalist trying to unravel this cloudy case. But in the end, the investigation turns out to be without any great revelation, which can be unsettling or at least surprising, because the interest of the film is actually not in the suspense of its thriller.<\/p><p>The striking thing about this almost-biopic is indeed its ability to render the doubts of an unfinished investigation. Numerous shadowy areas persist without the director ever trying to elucidate them. A destabilizing choice that instills confusion in the viewer but also interesting in its refusal to settle or judge in order to present us with a world made of various masks where each character is finally seen from several angles questioning us and maintaining a permanent doubt. The first glimpse we have of this journalist is therefore his appetite for parties, then we see him as a hard worker, someone rigorous finally to question his hunger for scandals and his own exposure. Both the source and the accused of this main trio are given a similar treatment and, in the end, \u201cUndercover\u201d does not look like the expected investigation movie.<\/p><p>Filmed in 1:33 and with many slow oner pans, the film also stands out for its refined aesthetics with the photography of Claire Mathon (Portrait of a Lady on Fire; Spencer), but also for its trio of main actors with Roschdy Zem, Pio Marma\u00ef and Vincent Lindon who all deliver remarkable performances. Sometimes unsettling and sometimes conventional in its first part, which focuses on the press side of the case, \u201cUndercover\u201d will not appeal to everyone, but it certainly raises intriguing questions that make us wonder about the underlying internal warfare between the police departments in this case &#8230;.<\/p><p>Rapha\u00ebl
