\u00ab Kaboul \u00bb diffus\u00e9e sur <em>France TV<\/em>, les studios <em>Path\u00e9<\/em> s\u2019emparent \u00e0 leur tour d\u2019un moment cl\u00e9 de l\u2019histoire diplomatique fran\u00e7aise r\u00e9cente\u00a0\u2013 moins de quatre ans apr\u00e8s les faits \u2013, l\u2019\u00e9vacuation de l\u2019ambassade afghane lors du retour des Taliban en ao\u00fbt 2021. Martin Bourboulon (Papa ou Maman\u00a0; Eiffel\u00a0; Les Trois Mousquetaires) adapte ici le roman du commandant Mohamed Bida (interpr\u00e9t\u00e9 par Roschdy Zem) et se concentre donc sur la perspective du chef de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 de l\u2019ambassade qui resta \u00e0 Kaboul avec un groupe du RAID pendant 13 jours pour \u00e9vacuer les ressortissants fran\u00e7ais et les Afghans susceptibles d\u2019\u00eatre cibl\u00e9s par le r\u00e9gime islamiste de retour au pouvoir suite au retrait des forces am\u00e9ricaines n\u00e9goci\u00e9 sous le premier mandat de Donald Trump.<\/p><p>Sur le papier tous les \u00e9l\u00e9ments semblent donc \u00eatre r\u00e9unis pour mettre en sc\u00e8ne un thriller sous tension et plein de suspense, d\u2019autant plus avec les 30 millions de budget allou\u00e9s pour l\u2019occasion. Mais le r\u00e9sultat est malheureusement fade, avec une mise en sc\u00e8ne certes correcte qui n\u2019est ni haletante ni passionnante, et p\u00e2tit surtout d\u2019un sc\u00e9nario emphatique et didactique, qui survole les incoh\u00e9rences et dramatise beaucoup trop chaque s\u00e9quence. Le film ne parvient \u00e0 nous emporter ni dans l\u2019action pleine de sueur et de poussi\u00e8re \u00e0 l\u2019image du film \u00ab\u00a013 hours\u00a0\u00bb de Michael Bay qui mettait en sc\u00e8ne (dans un d\u00e9luge de feu comme \u00e0 son habitude) l\u2019\u00e9vacuation de l\u2019ambassade am\u00e9ricaine en Libye, ni dans l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re irrespirable d\u2019un r\u00e9cit historique \u00e0 l\u2019issue connue comme dans le r\u00e9cent \u00ab\u00a05 septembre\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p><p>Le fait est que le film n\u2019adapte en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 qu\u2019un tiers du roman \/ des deux semaines du processus d\u2019\u00e9vacuation, en se concentrant presque exclusivement sur l\u2019organisation du p\u00e9rilleux convoi en bus \u00e0 travers la capitale afghane pour rejoindre l\u2019a\u00e9roport contr\u00f4l\u00e9 par l\u2019arm\u00e9e am\u00e9ricaine. La dimension survie au compte \u00e0 rebours ne peut alors \u00eatre transcrite \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cran de sorte qu\u2019on ne ressent malheureusement pas les 13 jours du titre d\u00e9filer. De plus ce choix d\u2019adaptation impliquerait une trame plus centr\u00e9e sur la n\u00e9gociation avec les Taliban pour le laisser-passer du convoi, ce qui est toujours rel\u00e9gu\u00e9 en hors-champ de par le point de vue au sein du groupe de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 de l\u2019ambassade. Le film ne semble alors pas traiter ses enjeux centraux, d\u2019autant que la volont\u00e9 de sur-dramatisation (d\u2019un \u00e9v\u00e9nement qui \u00e9tait pourtant dans la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 d\u00e9j\u00e0 tr\u00e8s tendu et anxiog\u00e8ne) aboutit \u00e0 l\u2019ajout de r\u00f4les secondaires jou\u00e9s par Sidse Babett Knudsen et Lyna Khoudri malheureusement compl\u00e8tement creux.<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><p>Rapha\u00ebl Sallenave<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-42480e6 elementor-widget__width-initial exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"42480e6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><p>Two months after the \u201cKabul\u201d series aired on France TV, Path\u00e9 studios now also tackle this key moment in recent French diplomatic history \u2013 less than four years after the facts \u2013 the evacuation of the Afghan embassy during the return of the Taliban in August 2021. Martin Bourboulon (Daddy or Mommy; Eiffel; The Three Musketeers) adapts the novel by Commander Mohamed Bida (played by Roschdy Zem), thus focusing on the perspective of the embassy&rsquo;s head of security, who remained in Kabul with a RAID group for 13 days to evacuate French nationals and Afghans likely to be targeted by the Islamist regime back in power following the withdrawal of US forces negotiated under Donald Trump&rsquo;s first term.<\/p><p>On paper, all the elements seemed to be there for a tense, suspenseful thriller, all the more so with the 30 million budget devoted to the project. But the result is unfortunately rather bland, with an admittedly decent production, yet neither breathtaking nor exciting, and suffering above all from an overly emphatic, didactic script that runs over inconsistencies and overdramatizes every sequence. The film fails both to draw us into the sweat-and-dust action like Michael Bay&rsquo;s \u201c13 Hours\u201d, which featured the evacuation of the American embassy in Libya in his usual deluge of fire, nor into the suffocating atmosphere of a historical tale with a well-known outcome, as in the recent \u201cSeptember 5\u201d.<\/p><p>The thing is, the film really only adapts a third of the novel \/ the two-week evacuation process, focusing almost exclusively on the planning of the perilous bus convoy through the Afghan capital to the airport controlled by the American army. The countdown aspect of the survival story can&rsquo;t then be transposed to the screen, so that the 13 days of the title don&rsquo;t feel like they&rsquo;re really ticking away. In addition, this adaptation choice would imply a storyline more focused on the negotiation with the Taliban for the convoy&rsquo;s safe passage, which is always relegated to an off-screen role by the point of view within the embassy security group. The film then doesn&rsquo;t seem to deal with its key stakes, all the more so as the attempt to over-dramatize (an event that in all truth was already very tense and anxiety-provoking) leads to the addition of supporting roles played by Sidse Babett Knudsen and Lyna Khoudri that are unfortunately completely empty.<\/p><p>Rapha\u00ebl
