Produite par <em>Haut et Court<\/em> et cr\u00e9\u00e9e par les Isra\u00e9liens Maria Feldman, Eitan Mansuri (producteurs), Amit Cohen, Ron Leshem (sc\u00e9naristes) et le Fran\u00e7ais Xabi Molia (romancier), \u00ab\u00a0No Man\u2019s Land\u00a0\u00bb est une excellente s\u00e9rie qui se distingue par son sc\u00e9nario extr\u00eamement r\u00e9aliste, document\u00e9, et fin sans le moindre manich\u00e9isme.<\/p><p>C\u2019est \u00e0 la fois une s\u00e9rie de guerre, un thriller d\u2019espionnage, et un drame familial dans une intrigue intense m\u00ealant conflits personnels et g\u00e9opolitiques complexes. L\u2019histoire met en sc\u00e8ne des personnages surprenants et cr\u00e9dibles dans des dialogues multilingues (fran\u00e7ais, anglais, kurde, arabe, farsi) de qualit\u00e9 au gr\u00e9 de nombreux rebondissements et choix forts de sc\u00e9nario. La r\u00e9alisation et les choix de d\u00e9cors renforcent de plus la coh\u00e9rence d\u2019un r\u00e9cit qui sonne particuli\u00e8rement juste, jusque dans la condition sociale des personnages port\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cran par les excellents James Krishna Floyd (un djihadiste ambivalent), Souheila Yacoub (une YPJ d\u00e9vou\u00e9e), M\u00e9lanie Thierry (une Fran\u00e7aise disparue), et F\u00e9lix Moati (un Parisien vivant bien loin du conflit qui va emmener le spectateur avec lui dans son obsession intime l\u2019amenant en Syrie)\u00a0!<\/p><p><strong>Saison 1 (2020)<\/strong><\/p><p>C\u2019est donc au d\u00e9part l\u2019histoire d\u2019un jeune Fran\u00e7ais convaincu d\u2019avoir reconnu furtivement sa s\u0153ur, pr\u00e9sum\u00e9e morte, dans un reportage consacr\u00e9 aux Amazones aux foulards fleuris du Kurdistan combattant le nouvel \u00c9tat islamique. L\u2019obsession familiale de ce jeune architecte va alors rapidement le propulser sur le champ de bataille pour une \u00ab\u00a0Terre sans personne et sans propri\u00e9taire\u00a0\u00bb [titre original kurde] o\u00f9 il croisera la route de jeunes guerri\u00e8res kurdes, de Britanniques engag\u00e9s dans le djihad, et d\u2019agents secrets internationaux.<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-20584 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Snapshot_4155.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"775\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Snapshot_4155.png 1500w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Snapshot_4155-300x155.png 300w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Snapshot_4155-1024x529.png 1024w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Snapshot_4155-768x397.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/p><p>Au gr\u00e9 de la travers\u00e9e d\u2019une Syrie d\u00e9chir\u00e9e, par ce personnage d\u00e9connect\u00e9 du conflit, la s\u00e9rie nous fait d\u00e9couvrir l\u2019envers du d\u00e9cor dans un camp comme dans l\u2019autre et interroge les moteurs et m\u00e9canismes de l\u2019engagement arm\u00e9 \u2013 notamment \u00e0 travers les volontaires internationaux des deux camps. Elle explore ainsi le basculement de la violence de personnages ordinaires pour des id\u00e9aux \u2013 qu\u2019ils soient religieux ou pas \u2013 et ses cons\u00e9quences sur les populations civiles, tout en restant au fond une histoire familiale. C\u2019est une riche intrigue qui noue un fil conducteur intime dans un conflit majeur dont le suspense et la profondeur offrent d\u2019excellents premiers, seconds et troisi\u00e8mes r\u00f4les dont la perspective \u00e9volue progressivement. Et cette richesse narrative se retrouve notamment dans sa structure avec une double chronologie entrecoupant la narration de flash-backs qui viennent non seulement ajouter progressivement des renseignements sur les personnages et enjeux auxquels la chronologie principale nous confronte, mais aussi ajouter des enjeux suppl\u00e9mentaires (divisions familiales, opposants iraniens) et cr\u00e9er des ellipses permettant au r\u00e9cit de d\u00e9velopper succinctement ses personnages.<\/p><p><strong>Saison 2 (2025)<\/strong><\/p><p>Cinq ans apr\u00e8s la premi\u00e8re \u2013 une \u00e9ternit\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle des s\u00e9ries \u2013 la seconde saison nous replonge au c\u0153ur du conflit entre Kurdes et djihadistes mais change cette structure narrative qui d\u00e9multipliait ses intrigues et th\u00e9matiques. Or en enlevant cette double chronologie, cela r\u00e9duit \u2013 non pas les enjeux \u2013 mais bien le volume d\u2019intrigues avec un r\u00e9cit plus lin\u00e9aire et sans ellipse qui par cons\u00e9quent rend les \u00e9tapes du r\u00e9cit plus lentes. D\u2019autant que le sc\u00e9nario de cette seconde saison fait le choix d\u2019abandonner certains personnages principaux pour en introduire de nouveaux ou faire \u00e9voluer d\u2019autres personnages pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment secondaires. Tout cela rend l\u2019intrigue moins riche narrativement bien qu\u2019il y ait toujours des surprises et de tr\u00e8s bons d\u00e9veloppements de personnages qui rendent le r\u00e9cit toujours aussi fort\u00a0!<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-20572 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Snapshot_4145.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"775\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Snapshot_4145.png 1500w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Snapshot_4145-300x155.png 300w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Snapshot_4145-1024x529.png 1024w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Snapshot_4145-768x397.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/p><p>Car si la parfaite alchimie de la premi\u00e8re saison n\u2019est pas exactement reproduite en seconde, la s\u00e9rie continue de m\u00ealer habilement thriller d\u2019espionnage et intime en donnant encore plus d\u2019importance aux combattantes kurdes, d\u2019une part puisque la dimension internationale (volontaires et services de renseignements) est moins pr\u00e9sente, et d\u2019autre part pour refl\u00e9ter le fait que les Kurdes continu\u00e8rent effectivement \u00e0 se battre seules sur le terrain. Mais elle explore \u00e9galement, et d\u2019autant plus, l\u2019\u00c9tat qu\u2019\u00e9tait Daech en s\u2019attaquant aux questions financi\u00e8res et sociales notamment \u00e0 travers le sort des femmes de plus en plus expos\u00e9es dans le conflit, qu\u2019elles soient victimes, combattantes ou bourreaux. La saison 2 resserre donc son r\u00e9cit et r\u00e9oriente l\u00e9g\u00e8rement ses th\u00e9matiques dans un environnement toujours aussi r\u00e9aliste et une superbe histoire qui offre une belle (potentielle) conclusion\u00a0!<\/p><p><strong>\u2026<\/strong><\/p><p>Avec deux saisons particuli\u00e8rement passionnantes, \u00ab\u00a0No Man\u2019s Land\u00a0\u00bb s\u2019impose comme une s\u00e9rie hyperr\u00e9aliste et audacieuse, \u00e0 la fois g\u00e9opolitique &amp; familiale, \u00e0 la fois intime &amp; spectaculaire, et \u00e0 la fois dramatique &amp; haletante. Produced by <em>Haut et Court<\/em> and created by the Israelis Maria Feldman and Eitan Mansuri (producers), Amit Cohen and Ron Leshem (screenwriters) and the French Xabi Molia (novelist), \u201cNo Man&rsquo;s Land\u201d is a brilliant series that stands out for its highly realistic, well-documented, and sophisticated script free of the slightest Manicheanism.<\/p><p>This is a war series, an espionage thriller and a family drama all rolled into one, with an intense storyline combining complex personal and geopolitical conflicts. The story features surprising and believable characters, with high-quality multilingual dialogue (French, English, Kurdish, Arabic, Farsi), plenty of plot twists and strong script choices. The cinematography and set design further enhance the coherence of a story that rings particularly true, right down to the social status of the characters brought to the screen by the excellent James Krishna Floyd (a conflicted jihadist), Souheila Yacoub (a devoted YPJ), M\u00e9lanie Laurent (a missing Frenchwoman), and F\u00e9lix Moati (a Parisian living far away from the conflict who will take the viewer with him in his intimate obsession leading him to Syria)!<\/p><p><strong>Season 1 (2020)<\/strong><\/p><p>The story then begins with a young Frenchman who is convinced that he recognized his sister, presumed dead, in a news report about the Amazons of Kurdistan fighting the new Islamic State. The young architect&rsquo;s family obsession soon propels him onto the battlefield of a \u201cland without people or owners\u201d [original Kurdish title], where he crosses paths with young female Kurdish warriors, British jihadists and international intelligence operatives.<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-20584 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Snapshot_4155.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"775\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Snapshot_4155.png 1500w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Snapshot_4155-300x155.png 300w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Snapshot_4155-1024x529.png 1024w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Snapshot_4155-768x397.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/p><p>As this character, disconnected from the conflict, makes his way through a torn Syria, the series takes us under the skin of both sides, and examines the driving forces and processes behind armed commitment \u2013 especially as seen through the eyes of international volunteers on both sides. It thus explores how ordinary people turn to violence for the sake of ideals \u2013 be they religious or not \u2013 and the consequences for civilian populations, while remaining in essence a family story. It&rsquo;s a rich plot that weaves an intimate thread through a major conflict whose suspense and depth bring together excellent leads and supporting characters whose perspective gradually evolves. And this narrative quality is particularly reflected in its structure, with a double timeline interspersed with flashbacks that not only gradually add information about the characters and issues that the main timeline deals with; but also add additional issues (family divisions, Iranian opponents) and create ellipses that allow the story to quickly develop its characters.<\/p><p><strong>Season 2 (2025)<\/strong><\/p><p>Five years after the first one \u2013 a lifetime by TV series standards \u2013 the second season takes us back to the heart of the conflict between Kurds and jihadists, but changes the narrative structure that expanded its storylines and themes. However, by removing this double timeline, it limits \u2013 not the stakes \u2013 but rather the volume of storylines, with a more linear narrative and no ellipses, which in turn slows down the narrative process. All the more so as the script of this second season makes the choice of abandoning certain main characters to introduce new ones or develop other previously secondary characters. But it also explores, and even more so, the state that was Daesh by tackling financial and social issues, especially through the fate of women who were increasingly exposed in the conflict, whether as victims, fighters or executioners. Season 2 therefore tightens its narrative and slightly shifts its themes, in an environment that remains as realistic as ever, and a great story that delivers a beautiful (potential) conclusion!<\/p><p><strong>\u2026<\/strong><\/p><p>With two particularly gripping seasons, \u201cNo Man&rsquo;s Land\u201d stands out as a bold, hyper-realistic series, at once geopolitical &amp; family-oriented, intimate &amp; spectacular, and dramatic &amp; breathtaking.
