Maria fait partie de ces r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s, elle qui d\u2019ailleurs milite activement et clandestinement contre le r\u00e9gime sanguinaire qui s\u00e9vit outre-Chiapas depuis Mexico. Mais elle est aussi m\u00e8re, et elle est profond\u00e9ment tiraill\u00e9e entre son envie de contribuer \u00e0 un monde meilleur et son d\u00e9sir d\u2019avoir une vie de famille plus resserr\u00e9e.<\/p><p>D\u00e9di\u00e9 \u00e0 la propre m\u00e8re du r\u00e9alisateur belgo-guat\u00e9malt\u00e8que C\u00e9sar D\u00edaz, \u00ab Mexico 86 \u00bb est en grande partie inspir\u00e9 de la vie de ce duo, sans toutefois verser ni dans l\u2019autobiographie ni dans le documentaire, ni m\u00eame dans la pure trag\u00e9die. Maria est avant tout une r\u00e9volutionnaire qui se sent investie d\u2019une mission qui la fait se battre sans rel\u00e2che contre l\u2019injustice et l\u2019impunit\u00e9 en risquant sa vie et celle de ses amis. Constamment sur le fil, en proie \u00e0 d\u2019innombrables dangers, elle doit adopter une attitude ferme, quitte \u00e0 para\u00eetre froide et obstin\u00e9e. Mais Maria reste aussi humaine : elle pr\u00e9sente des failles lors de situations urgentes, notamment lorsqu\u2019il s\u2019agit de son fils \u2013 dont elle s\u2019est pourtant peu \u00e0 peu \u00e9loign\u00e9e \u2013 et de sa m\u00e8re \u2013 dont elle se languit douloureusement malgr\u00e9 son courage et sa hardiesse.<\/p><p>Cette femme forte (encore insuffisamment mise en valeur par les manuels d\u2019histoire et la triste actualit\u00e9) est incroyablement interpr\u00e9t\u00e9e par une \u00e9lectrisante B\u00e9r\u00e9nice Bejo qui, ayant elle aussi connu l\u2019exil, transmet cette permanente tension qui nous emporte de bout en bout. Ambiance stressante renforc\u00e9e par de puissants regards et une photographie sign\u00e9e Virginie Surdej jouant beaucoup sur l\u2019\u00e9clairage, l\u2019obombrage et le hors-champ. Maria is first and foremost a revolutionary with a mission that makes her fight relentlessly against injustice and impunity, risking her life and those of her friends. Constantly on the edge, prey to countless dangers, she must adopt a firm stance, even if it means appearing cold and obstinate. But Maria is also human: she has her flaws in urgent situations, especially when it comes to her son \u2013 from whom she has gradually become distant \u2013 and her mother \u2013 whom she misses painfully despite her courage and boldness.<\/p><p>This strong woman (still not given enough prominence in the history books and in today&rsquo;s grim world) is incredibly portrayed by an electrifying B\u00e9r\u00e9nice Bejo, who, having also experienced exile, conveys the constant tension that sweeps us along from start to finish. The stressful atmosphere is heightened by the film&rsquo;s powerful glances and Virginie Surdej&rsquo;s cinematography, which makes great use of lighting, shadowing and off-screen effects. Constantemente al l\u00edmite, presa de innumerables peligros, debe adoptar una postura firme, aunque ello signifique parecer fr\u00eda y obstinada.
