Jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce qu\u2019il rencontre Serge, policier de fonction, et sa femme No\u00e9mie, banqui\u00e8re de profession, qui vont tous deux changer la vie de Nour \u00e0 jamais durant la d\u00e9cennie 1990.<\/p><p>R\u00e9alis\u00e9 par Sa\u00efd Hamich, \u00ab La Mer au Loin \u00bb surprend de par la trajectoire que prend l\u2019intrigue \u2013 en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 la vie de Nour et de son entourage. Largement social durant ses premi\u00e8res minutes, le film bascule petit \u00e0 petit dans le m\u00e9lodrame pour progressivement raconter une histoire originale touchante avec des personnages anti-conventionnels et attachants.<\/p><p>Incarn\u00e9 par Ayoub Gretaa, Nour se retrouve en effet projet\u00e9 d\u2019une survie mis\u00e9rable et improvis\u00e9e \u00e0 une existence plus stable au milieu de gens pourtant hauts en couleurs. \u00c0 travers sa rencontre de Serge et de No\u00e9mie (respectivement interpr\u00e9t\u00e9s par Gr\u00e9goire Colin et Anna Mouglalis), notre exil\u00e9 bascule d\u00e9finitivement d\u2019une vie \u00e0 une autre, d\u2019un pays \u00e0 un autre.<\/p><p>Car le film parle de cet arrachement et de ce r\u00e9-enracinement qu\u2019est l\u2019exil \u2013 exil qui ne permet pas de retour (contrairement \u00e0 ce que laisse supposer le titre du quatri\u00e8me chapitre de l\u2019intrigue) tant il devient act\u00e9 ; les liens avec notre terre natale se disloquent avec le temps, et c\u2019est ce que finit par comprendre Nour.<\/p><p>Toutefois, \u00ab La Mer au Loin \u00bb met aussi et surtout en images un \u00e9tonnant et puissant triangle relationnel et amoureux, compos\u00e9 de Nour, No\u00e9mie et Serge, dont les trois membres (qui ont chacun droit \u00e0 un chapitre dans le film) grandissent en m\u00eame temps que leurs liens s\u2019embellissent et se complexifient.<\/p><p>Le long-m\u00e9trage retranscrit ainsi un gradu\u00e9 parcours identitaire que Nour poursuit et d\u00e9cide de prendre en main. Until he meets Serge, a policeman by trade, and his wife No\u00e9mie, a banker by profession, both of whom will change Nour&rsquo;s life forever during the 1990s.<\/p><p>Directed by Sa\u00efd Hamich, \u201cAcross the Sea\u201d is surprising in the path it takes \u2013 actually, the whole life of Nour and those around him. Mostly social in its opening minutes, the film gradually veers into melodrama, gradually telling a touching, original story with anti-conventional, endearing characters.<\/p><p>Played by Ayoub Gretaa, Nour finds himself thrown from a miserable, makeshift survival into a more stable existence among colorful people. Through his encounters with Serge and No\u00e9mie (played by Gr\u00e9goire Colin and Anna Mouglalis respectively), this exile shifts from one life to another, from one country to another.<\/p><p>After all, the film is about the uprooting and re-rooting that is exile \u2013 an exile that allows no return (contrary to what the title of the plot&rsquo;s fourth chapter implies), so much so that it becomes de facto; ties with our native land loosen over time, and this is what Nour comes to understand.<\/p><p>However, \u201cAcross the Sea\u201d also, and above all, depicts an astonishing and powerful relationship and love triangle, made up of Nour, No\u00e9mie and Serge, whose three members (each entitled to a chapter in the film) grow up as their bonds become more complex and beautiful.<\/p><p>The film follows a gradual journey of identity as Nour pursues and takes control of her life. By making and assuming choices, guided by the people around him in his new home, Nour teaches us that we wouldn&rsquo;t be ourselves without the presence or absence of others, especially our dearest friends and relatives.<\/p><p>Axel
