On en voit une, et on les a toutes vues a priori ? Mais si \u00ab The Pitt \u00bb emprunte \u00e9videmment aux th\u00e9matiques et qualit\u00e9s des pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes s\u00e9ries du genre, cette nouvelle s\u00e9rie s\u2019en distingue grandement par sa structure en temps r\u00e9el o\u00f9 l\u2019on suit une journ\u00e9e compl\u00e8te d\u2019un service d\u2019urgences aupr\u00e8s d\u2019un ensemble de personnages qui font leur garde, et o\u00f9, en quelque sorte, nous aussi avec eux, dans ce format d\u2019\u00e9pisodes d\u2019une heure nous embarquant au c\u0153ur de chaque heure du service. Cette structure atypique cr\u00e9e donc une unit\u00e9 de temps \u00e0 la \u00ab 24 Heures Chrono \u00bb, et impose donc in\u00e9vitablement un huis-clos : du moment o\u00f9 on entre dans le service d\u2019urgence de cet h\u00f4pital de Pittsburgh, on en ressort plus ! C\u2019est un format qui apporte non seulement une coh\u00e9rence, une fluidit\u00e9 et une intensit\u00e9 \u00e9videmment renforc\u00e9es aux \u00e9pisodes, mais permet aussi de suivre le travail des m\u00e9decins et le d\u00e9veloppement de certaines situations avec les patients durant toute la saison plut\u00f4t que d\u2019avoir une s\u00e9rie sur un docteur g\u00e9nie ou des \u00e9pisodes se concentrant chacun sur un cas sp\u00e9cifique. C\u2019est une plong\u00e9e dans le travail de ces urgentistes, une v\u00e9ritable s\u00e9rie d\u2019\u00e9quipe.<\/p><p>Si cette nouvelle s\u00e9rie m\u00e9dicale revient sur des sujets et des critiques du service de sant\u00e9 am\u00e9ricain d\u00e9j\u00e0 pr\u00e9sents ailleurs, elle int\u00e8gre aussi le profond chamboulement de la pand\u00e9mie de COVID \u2013 au gr\u00e9 d\u2019une chronologie en flash-back succincte et parcellaire comme un cauchemar dont le souvenir traumatique revient par flashs \u2013 aussi bien pour les soignants que les souffrants. \u00ab\u00a0The Pitt\u00a0\u00bb s\u2019impose ainsi \u00e9galement comme le reflet de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 am\u00e9ricaine d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui o\u00f9 tous les maux d\u2019un syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 \u00e0 la d\u00e9rive s\u2019y retrouvent, du manque de moyens \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9puisement psychologique de soignants surmen\u00e9s et sous-pay\u00e9s, en passant par une d\u00e9fiance croissante des patients dans un climat antivax qui conduit (notamment au Texas) \u00e0 la r\u00e9\u00e9mergence de maladies \u00e9radiqu\u00e9es depuis longtemps. C\u2019est une chor\u00e9graphie non-stop dont la cam\u00e9ra toujours en mouvement donne l\u2019impression de tourner autour de ces m\u00e9decins dans un espace circulaire sans ligne de fuite o\u00f9 l\u2019action se d\u00e9roule aussi bien plein cadre qu\u2019en arri\u00e8re-plan en croisant les diff\u00e9rentes op\u00e9rations ou diagnostics. Cette mise en sc\u00e8ne dynamique et ce montage fluide d\u2019une situation \u00e0 l\u2019autre offrent une narration (intra)nerveuse servie par d\u2019excellents interpr\u00e8tes. S\u2019il y a bien le r\u00f4le principal du m\u00e9decin chef, tous sont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s et nuanc\u00e9s de sorte qu\u2019on s\u2019attache \u00e0 chacun d\u2019entre eux, sans avoir un seul mauvais personnage. Et le sc\u00e9nario les pr\u00e9sente (ainsi que leur cadre de travail) suffisamment bien \u2013 via un proc\u00e9d\u00e9 classique mais efficace, c\u2019est le premier jour de quelques internes qui d\u00e9couvrent donc avec le spectateur le service \u2013 pour qu\u2019au bout d\u2019une dizaine d\u2019heures de garde, un tout autre personnel soit introduit de mani\u00e8re fluide et claire instantan\u00e9ment. Alors que les patients ne cessent d\u2019affluer, la vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 et les failles des humains derri\u00e8re les blouses sont mises \u00e0 rude \u00e9preuve ajoutant \u00e0 l\u2019intrigue m\u00e9dicale, un d\u00e9veloppement personnel nuanc\u00e9 dans les pr\u00e9jug\u00e9s des uns et des autres.<\/p><p>C\u2019est ainsi \u00e0 la fois palpitant, tr\u00e8s \u00e9mouvant (m\u00eame d\u00e9chirant par moments), mais aussi plus l\u00e9ger \u00e0 d\u2019autres avec de petites doses d\u2019humour bien plac\u00e9es offrant des respirations n\u00e9cessaires entre des choix poignants. Si \u00ab\u00a0The Pitt\u00a0\u00bb reprend plusieurs codes conventionnels, elle les d\u00e9veloppe et les modernise pour un r\u00e9sultat vraiment marquant. Ce renouvellement des codes passe aussi par la diversit\u00e9 du service m\u00e9dical sans que cela ne soit jamais adress\u00e9 comme sujet (\u00e0 juste titre). Bref, c\u2019est certes un renouvellement des codes dans l\u2019air du temps, mais il n\u2019est jamais soulign\u00e9 et c\u2019est important de r\u00e9ussir cela justement pour une s\u00e9rie m\u00e9dicale qui joue donc des codes classiques de la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision am\u00e9ricaine blanche. Oui, c\u2019est une s\u00e9rie \u2018proc\u00e9durale\u2019 mais non seulement elle r\u00e9ussit extr\u00eamement bien sa dimension \u2018proc\u00e9durale\u2019, mais en plus elle y ajoute un rythme \u00e0 couper le souffle, une pr\u00e9cision incroyable, et une overdose d\u2019\u00e9motions\u00a0! Once you&rsquo;ve seen one, you&rsquo;ve seen them all, right? Yet, while \u201cThe Pitt\u201d obviously draws on the themes and qualities of previous series in the genre, this new one stands out for its real-time approach, in which we experience a full day&rsquo;s work in an emergency department with a cast of characters who are on call, and where, in a way, we&rsquo;re on call with them, in this one-hour episode format, taking us right to the heart of every hour on the clock. This atypical structure creates a unity of time a la \u201c24\u201d, and inevitably sets up an in-camera setting: once we enter the emergency department of this Pittsburgh hospital, we never leave it again! It&rsquo;s a formula that not only brings coherence, fluidity and intensity to the episodes, but also allows us to follow the work of the doctors and the development of certain situations with patients throughout the season, rather than having a series about a genius doctor or episodes each focusing on one specific case. This is a process series, truly a team series.<\/p><p>While this new medical show revisits issues and concerns of the U.S. health service already addressed elsewhere, it also embraces the profound upheaval of the COVID pandemic \u2013 through a brief, fragmented flashback timeline like a nightmare whose PTSD surfaces in flashes \u2013 for caregivers and sufferers alike. In this way, \u201cThe Pitt\u201d also stands out as a mirror of today&rsquo;s American society, where all the ills of a healthcare system adrift can be found, from the lack of resources to the psychological exhaustion of overworked and underpaid carers, not to mention the growing mistrust of patients in an anti-vax climate that is leading (particularly in Texas) to the re-emergence of long-eradicated diseases. It&rsquo;s a militant and quite educational story about the decay of public medicine, the decriminalization of addiction, the devastation of fentanyl, the disaster of firearms, and even abortion rights.<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-19769 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Snapshot_3549.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"775\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Snapshot_3549.png 1500w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Snapshot_3549-300x155.png 300w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Snapshot_3549-1024x529.png 1024w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Snapshot_3549-768x397.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/p><p>This is a series that also aims to be highly technical from a medical point of view, diving wholeheartedly into realism, which is echoed in its almost documentary-like staging, bolstered by the absence of music and aestheticism. It&rsquo;s a non-stop choreography in which the ever-moving camera gives the impression of circling around these doctors in a circular space with no vanishing line, where the action unfolds both in full frame and in the background, interweaving the various operations and diagnoses. This dynamic staging and fluid editing from one situation to the next provide an (intra)nervous narrative driven by outstanding performers. While there&rsquo;s a lead role for the senior attending physician, all the characters are well-developed and nuanced, so that we become attached to each one of them, without having a single bad character. And the script presents them (and their working environment) well enough \u2013 thanks to a conventional but successful formula: it&rsquo;s the first day of work for a few interns who, along with the viewer, discover the department \u2013 so that after about ten hours of on-call duty, a completely different staff is smoothly and seamlessly introduced at once. As the patients keep coming, the vulnerability and cracks of the humans beneath the scrubs are put to the test, adding to the medical plot, a character development shaded in the biases of each and every one.<\/p><p>It&rsquo;s thrilling and moving (even heartbreaking at times), but also lighter at others, with small doses of well-timed humor providing much-needed breathing space between heartbreaking choices. If \u201cThe Pitt\u201d takes up several conventional codes, it develops and modernizes them for a truly striking result. This renewal of codes is also achieved through the diversity of the medical service, without this ever being addressed as a subject (and rightly so). In short, it&rsquo;s certainly a renewal of codes relevant to the times, but it&rsquo;s never emphasized, and that&rsquo;s important for a medical series that operates within the classic codes of white American television. Yes, it&rsquo;s a \u2018procedural\u2019 show, but not only a damn good one, but on top of that it adds a breathtaking pace, incredible precision, and an overdose of emotions! Quite simply, it&rsquo;s an addictive surprise \u2013 which consequently works better as a binge-watch than a weekly viewing due to its unity of time \u2013 and surprisingly stands out as the best
