Il impose \u00e0 son r\u00e9cit une figure mystique, qu\u2019il ne cesse de placer au centre de l\u2019image. La beaut\u00e9 du film r\u00e9side dans cette inversion du point de vue dominant : le r\u00e9cit, c\u2019est Parthenope, les hommes ne sont que des personnages-fonctions, pr\u00e9sents uniquement pour ponctuer sa vie. Ils ne sont que des ombres, des statues qui pars\u00e8ment un r\u00e9cit fleuve.<\/p><p>\u00c0 travers le personnage de Parthenope, dont l\u2019ambition est de devenir anthropologue, Sorrentino con\u00e7oit son cin\u00e9ma comme une mati\u00e8re faussement anthropologique, qu\u2019il manipule \u00e0 son gr\u00e9. Et de cette fiction anthropologique, il tire une r\u00e9flexion sur le passage du temps, interrogation in\u00e9branlable, cin\u00e9matographique et artistique. Parthenope \u00e9volue dans une zone constante d\u2019exp\u00e9rimentation. Elle est \u00e0 la fois le t\u00e9moin d\u2019une \u00e9poque (celle de son r\u00e9alisateur) et le c\u0153ur de ses recherches anthropologiques.<\/p><p>Tout est surfait, criard, parfois voyeuriste \u2014 et pourtant, le film capte de redoutables fulgurances cin\u00e9matographiques, dont notamment la performance de Celeste Dalla Porta.<\/p><p>\u00ab\u00a0Parthenope\u00a0\u00bb est un mythe cruel de l\u2019\u00e9ph\u00e9m\u00e8re, de la fragilit\u00e9 de la jeunesse.
