Mais les points de vue s\u2019affrontent jusqu\u2019\u00e0 faire trembler les certitudes dans la mesure o\u00f9 les faits ne sont pas clairement \u00e9tablis et leur gravit\u00e9 d\u00e9battable. Une seule chose est s\u00fbre, il faut mettre en place une proc\u00e9dure. Laquelle\u00a0? Il faut (juste) mettre en place une proc\u00e9dure\u00a0!<\/p><p>Ce premier film \u2013 r\u00e9compens\u00e9 de la Cam\u00e9ra d\u2019Or \u00e0 Cannes \u2013 port\u00e9 par Thea Lambrechts Vaulen, Ellen Dorrit Petersen et Renate Reinsve (Julie en 12 chapitres), nous fait entrer dans un petit th\u00e9\u00e2tre des relations humaines o\u00f9 les mots sont dramatis\u00e9s et d\u00e9battus. Les enfants sont curieusement absents et ce qui leur est arriv\u00e9 est de moins en moins pr\u00e9sent dans la discussion \u2026 Ce film plein de non-dits cr\u00e9e ainsi son suspense par la r\u00e9tention d\u2019informations\u00a0: le spectateur (tout comme la protagoniste principale \u00e0 son arriv\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cole) d\u00e9couvre progressivement les faits et a donc recours \u00e0 son imaginaire pour comprendre la situation. Au travers d\u2019allusions, sous-entendus, arguments biais\u00e9s et diff\u00e9rents jeux de regards, il nous fait ainsi th\u00e9oriser sur les relations entre ces personnages (tous plus ou moins ambigus) et sur la v\u00e9racit\u00e9 des faits.<\/p><p>Halfdan Ullmann T\u00f8ndel joue sur ce doute permanent o\u00f9 l\u2019on ignore qui croire ou quoi penser pour op\u00e9rer un basculement progressif du r\u00e9alisme du sujet vers une fugue fantasmatique qui convoque plut\u00f4t une exp\u00e9rience sensorielle. Le jeune r\u00e9alisateur norv\u00e9gien travaille en effet son univers visuel et sonore pour amplifier le trouble int\u00e9rieur des personnages (et celui du spectateur par cons\u00e9quent) \u00e0 travers des ruptures de ton (apr\u00e8s les mots, c\u2019est le corps qui a besoin de s\u2019exprimer), des sc\u00e8nes \u00e9tir\u00e9es en longueur (parfois comiques, parfois d\u00e9sar\u00e7onnantes), et des effets stylistiques (presque artificiels). Il joue ainsi sur son huis-clos dans cette \u00e9cole d\u00e9serte et caniculaire dont le d\u00e9dale de couloirs et la myriade de fragments du pass\u00e9 transcendent la banalit\u00e9 du d\u00e9cor et en font un lieu \u00e9nigmatique et presque mena\u00e7ant.<\/p><p>S\u2019il finit par se perdre quelque peu dans son labyrinthe expressif, \u00ab La Convocation \u00bb reste un drame audacieux qui filme la complexit\u00e9 humaine et illustre la fragilit\u00e9 de nos certitudes en nous poussant \u00e0 trouver une v\u00e9rit\u00e9 au-del\u00e0 des faits. But points of view collide to the point of shaking certainties, insofar as the facts are not clearly established and the degree of seriousness open for debate. Only one thing is for sure: a procedure needs to be set up. What procedure? A procedure (just) needs to be set up!<\/p><p>This first feature \u2013 which won the Cam\u00e9ra d&rsquo;Or at Cannes \u2013 stars Thea Lambrechts Vaulen, Ellen Dorrit Petersen and Renate Reinsve (The Worst Person in the World), and invites us into a small theater of human relations, where words are dramatized and debated. The children are strangely missing, and what happened to them is less and less central to the debate&#8230; This film, full of unspoken things, builds its suspense by withholding information: the viewer (like the main protagonist on her arrival at the school) gradually discovers the facts, and has to rely on their own imagination to understand the situation. Through allusions, innuendoes, biased arguments and different gaze interplays, it makes us speculate on the relationships between these characters (all of whom are more or less ambiguous) and on the veracity of the facts.<\/p><p>Halfdan Ullmann T\u00f8ndel draws on this permanent doubt, where we don&rsquo;t know who to believe or what to think, to gradually shift from the realism of the story to a phantasmatic journey that is more akin to a sensory experience. The young Norwegian director crafts his visual and sound environment to magnify the inner turmoil of the characters (and thereby the viewer&rsquo;s) through tonal shifts (after the words, the body needs to express itself), scenes stretched out at length (sometimes funny, sometimes disconcerting), and style effects (almost artificial). He thus plays with his closed-door setting in this deserted, sweltering school, whose maze of corridors and plethora of past fragments transcend the banality of the setting, turning it into an enigmatic, almost threatening place.<\/p><p>If it ends up getting a little lost in its expressive labyrinth, \u201cArmand\u201d remains a bold drama that captures human complexity and depicts the frailty of our certainties, challenging us to find a truth beyond the facts. If its meaning (metaphorical or otherwise) remains ambivalent right until the end, this also means that it is very much open to interpretation&#8230;<\/p><p>Rapha\u00ebl
