Le r\u00e9alisateur sud-cor\u00e9en renoue cette fois-ci avec un cin\u00e9ma plus am\u00e9ricain et une \u00e9quipe v\u00e9ritablement cosmopolite dans le cadre d\u2019un long-m\u00e9trage de science-fiction compl\u00e8tement barge mais pas pour autant d\u00e9nu\u00e9 de sens !<\/p><p>Voici donc \u00ab Mickey 17 \u00bb, l\u2019histoire rocambolesque d\u2019un marginal endett\u00e9 qui quitte la Terre pour un vaisseau colonisateur o\u00f9 il devient un \u00ab Rempla\u00e7able \u00bb. Son boulot ? Mourir \u00e0 notre place, de fa\u00e7on souvent atroce, lors de t\u00e2ches franchement p\u00e9nibles, puis \u00eatre litt\u00e9ralement r\u00e9imprim\u00e9 pour une autre mission ali\u00e9nante et suicidaire. Comme le titre l\u2019indique, c\u2019est essentiellement la dix-septi\u00e8me version de ce Mickey Barnes que nous suivons ici, ce Mickey 17 qui se retrouve suite \u00e0 une erreur en pr\u00e9sence d\u2019un dix-huiti\u00e8me lui. La navette est alors en pr\u00e9sence de \u00ab Multiples \u00bb, ce qui engendre \u00e9videmment quelques probl\u00e8mes.<\/p><p>Clairement comique mais surtout satirique, \u00ab Mickey 17 \u00bb est port\u00e9 par des acteurs aux jeux et sur-jeux dr\u00f4les et exquis. \u00c0 commencer bien s\u00fbr par Robert Pattinson en t\u00eate d\u2019affiche qui incarne \u00e0 merveille deux versions (sinon plus) assez diff\u00e9rentes d\u2019un m\u00eame personnage, ce qui donne une r\u00e9elle profondeur \u00e0 ce Mickey Barnes. Les r\u00f4les secondaires ne sont cependant pas en reste, avec une Nasha amoureuse et un peu nymphomane (interpr\u00e9t\u00e9e par Naomi Ackie), un Timo ren\u00e9gat et beau parleur (Steven Yeun), une Kai maligne et persuasive (Anamaria Vartolomei), une Ylfa Marshall influente quoiqu\u2019un brin folle (Toni Collette), un Kenneth Marshall narcissique et politicard (Mark Ruffalo) \u2013 et j\u2019en passe !<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-19028 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Snapshot_3327.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"775\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Snapshot_3327.png 1500w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Snapshot_3327-300x155.png 300w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Snapshot_3327-1024x529.png 1024w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Snapshot_3327-768x397.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/p><p>Inspir\u00e9 du roman \u00ab Mickey7 \u00bb d\u2019Edward Ashton, l\u2019univers du long-m\u00e9trage est bien travaill\u00e9, avec un vaisseau spatial sobre mais r\u00e9aliste, une plan\u00e8te hostile et givr\u00e9e (baptis\u00e9e Niflheim en r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 la mythologie nordique) et qui \u00e9voque l\u2019Antarctique, une esp\u00e8ce extraterrestre (les \u00ab Rampants \u00bb) \u00e0 la fois fascinante et presque mignonne, le tout avec des visuels et des effets sp\u00e9ciaux plus que corrects.<\/p><p>Outre ces qualit\u00e9s de forme, \u00ab Mickey 17 \u00bb est aussi et surtout une satire qui a beaucoup de fonds. Le film aborde et interroge en effet de multiples sujets, en premier lieu naturellement la question du clonage et le mythe du double, les deux Mickey de l\u2019intrigue se compl\u00e9tant tout en \u00e9tant deux facettes d\u2019une seule et m\u00eame personne. Le long-m\u00e9trage approfondit d\u2019ailleurs la chose en y ajoutant, non sans humour, notre humaine et perp\u00e9tuelle qu\u00eate d\u2019immortalit\u00e9 \u2013 don laiss\u00e9 ici \u00e0 un homme \u00ab r\u00e9utilisable \u00bb et qui n\u2019est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 par cons\u00e9quent que comme un bout de viande, ce qui est un paradoxe int\u00e9ressant. Mais le r\u00e9cit attaque de surcro\u00eet la question du messianisme politique et de ses d\u00e9rives, avec un harangueur et sa conjointe excentriques, sans principes et imbus de leurs personnes, qui n\u2019h\u00e9sitent pas \u00e0 promouvoir une forme de supr\u00e9macisme voire d\u2019eug\u00e9nisme au nom de leurs dangereux et arri\u00e9r\u00e9s id\u00e9aux \u2013 ce qui rappelle quelques fatalement r\u00e9els femmes et hommes dirigeants partout dans le monde. La vocation colonisatrice de l\u2019exp\u00e9dition spatiale vers un astre aux conditions extr\u00eames mais d\u00e9j\u00e0 habit\u00e9 par ces fameux et intelligents Rampants permet enfin de d\u00e9noncer l\u2019absurde et la b\u00eatise de l\u2019esp\u00e8ce humaine de se croire sup\u00e9rieure et propri\u00e9taire d\u2019un espace qui ne sera jamais le sien.<\/p><p>L\u00e9g\u00e8rement incisif mais par-dessous tout r\u00e9jouissant et amusant, \u00ab Mickey 17 \u00bb s\u2019inscrit ainsi parfaitement dans la veine du cin\u00e9ma \u00e9clectique de Bong Joon-ho, rappelant plus certes \u00ab Le Transperceneige \u00bb ou \u00ab The Host \u00bb que \u00ab Parasite \u00bb ou \u00ab Mother \u00bb, mais critiquant toujours un ou plusieurs aspects n\u00e9gatifs de nos soci\u00e9t\u00e9s contemporaines. This time, the South Korean director returns to a more American style of filmmaking and a truly multicultural cast in a sci-fi feature that&rsquo;s completely madcap but certainly not meaningless!<\/p><p>This is \u201cMickey 17\u201d, the incredible story of an indebted drifter who leaves Earth for a colonizing ship, where he becomes an \u201cExpandable\u201d. His job? Dying for us, often in excruciating fashion, during downright arduous tasks, then literally being reimprinted for another alienating and suicidal mission. As the title suggests, it&rsquo;s essentially the seventeenth version of this Mickey Barnes that we&rsquo;re following here, this Mickey 17 who, due to an error, finds himself in the presence of an eighteenth version of himself. The spaceship is then in the presence of \u201cMultiples\u201d, which obviously causes a few problems.<\/p><p>Clearly funny, but above all satirical, \u201cMickey 17\u201d features a cast of exquisitely funny actors. Robert Pattinson of course leads the cast, playing two (if not more) quite different versions of the same character, giving real depth to this Mickey Barnes. The supporting roles prove no slouch either, with a love-struck and somewhat nymphomaniacal Nasha (played by Naomi Ackie), a renegade and smooth-talking Timo (Steven Yeun), a shrewd and persuasive Kai (Anamaria Vartolomei), an influential yet slightly mad Ylfa Marshall (Toni Collette), a narcissistic and politicking Kenneth Marshall (Mark Ruffalo) \u2013 and the list goes on!<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-19028 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Snapshot_3327.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"775\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Snapshot_3327.png 1500w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Snapshot_3327-300x155.png 300w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Snapshot_3327-1024x529.png 1024w, https:\/\/rsgproduction.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Snapshot_3327-768x397.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/p><p>Based on Edward Ashton&rsquo;s novel \u201cMickey7\u201d, the film&rsquo;s world is well crafted, with a simple but realistic spaceship, a hostile, frosty planet (named Niflheim after Norse mythology) reminiscent of Antarctica, and an extraterrestrial species (the \u201cCreepers\u201d) that is both fascinating and almost cute, all with more than decent visuals and special effects.<\/p><p>In addition to these technical qualities, \u201cMickey 17\u201d is also, and above all, a satire with a lot of substance. In fact, the film tackles and questions a wide range of subjects, starting of course with the issue of cloning and the myth of the double, as the two Mickeys in the plot complete each other while at the same time being two facets of one and the same person. The film takes this further by adding, with good humor, our perpetual human quest for immortality \u2013 a gift left here to a man who can be \u201cre-used\u201d, and who is therefore seen as nothing more than a piece of flesh, which makes for an interesting paradox. But the story also tackles the issue of political messianism and its excesses, with an eccentric, unprincipled and self-important leader and his spouse, who don&rsquo;t hesitate to promote a kind of supremacism or even eugenics in the name of their dangerous and backward ideals \u2013 reminiscent of some tragically real men and women in power around the world. The colonizing vocation of the space expedition to a planet with extreme conditions, but already inhabited by these famous and intelligent creepers, finally serves to highlight the absurdity and stupidity of the human species in believing itself superior and owner of a space that will never be its own.<\/p><p>Slightly sharp but above all delightful and fun, \u201cMickey 17\u201d fits perfectly into the vein of Bong Joon-ho&rsquo;s eclectic cinema, more reminiscent of \u201cSnowpiercer\u201d or \u201cThe Host\u201d than \u201cParasite\u201d or \u201cMother\u201d, but always criticizing one or more dark sides of contemporary society. The film, which may be a little unfocused script-wise, leaving a few subplots unresolved, remains a success and will appeal to fans of both the great Robert Pattinson and the up-and-coming Anamaria Vartolomei, as well as to fans of science fiction and comedy, or satire and entertainment alike.<\/p><p>Axel
