des eaux n\u2019est plus viable pour l\u2019\u00e9conomie du pays poussant le gouvernement \u00e0 se r\u00e9soudre \u00e0 un exil forc\u00e9 et g\u00e9n\u00e9ralis\u00e9. Pour sa premi\u00e8re s\u00e9rie, Thomas Vinterberg outrepasse donc les projections en imaginant une mont\u00e9e des eaux d\u2019une telle envergure que l\u2019ensemble des habitants soit contraint d\u2019\u00e9vacuer et tout recommencer de z\u00e9ro dans d\u2019autres pays europ\u00e9ens. Le peuple danois se disperse ainsi et devient une diaspora laissant derri\u00e8re elle, maisons, \u00e9coles, et rues d\u00e9sertes. Alors que familles et amis sont s\u00e9par\u00e9s, qu\u2019un pays s\u2019efface, l\u2019\u00e9conomie n\u2019a plus de valeur \u2026 mais les sentiments demeurent.<\/p><p>Cette dystopie, le r\u00e9alisateur de \u00ab\u00a0Festen\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0La Chasse\u00a0\u00bb ou plus r\u00e9cemment de l\u2019oscaris\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Drunk\u00a0\u00bb la traite comme un mat\u00e9riau r\u00e9aliste en dressant le portrait d\u2019une poign\u00e9e de personnages et \u00e0 travers eux d\u2019une nation qui s\u2019\u00e9parpille. Ce n\u2019est pas une s\u00e9rie catastrophe, les choses arrivent lentement de sorte que la mont\u00e9e des eaux reste hors-champ. La dystopie est alors moins dans la catastrophe climatique que dans l\u2019inversion sociale examinant la capacit\u00e9 des Europ\u00e9ens de l\u2019Ouest \u00e0 vivre la condition qui est aujourd\u2019hui celle des migrants. Si le concept n\u2019est donc pas encore \u00e0 l\u2019heure du jour et pas forc\u00e9ment tr\u00e8s cr\u00e9dible non plus (l\u2019exil de tout un pays), il est trait\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re hyperr\u00e9aliste et bien document\u00e9 sur les politiques d\u2019accueil des r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s dans les diff\u00e9rents pays europ\u00e9ens.<\/p><p>Moins que la catastrophe climatique, le sujet est donc bien la dissolution des privil\u00e8ges en adoptant le point de vue d\u2019une bourgeoisie peu \u00e0 peu d\u00e9poss\u00e9d\u00e9e de son confort et de ses biens. Vinterberg met en sc\u00e8ne cette inversion du flux migratoire sans ironie pour questionner ce qu\u2019il reste lorsque des privil\u00e9gi\u00e9s perdent tout \u2026 le d\u00e9chirement des familles et l\u2019amour des siens, d\u2019o\u00f9 le titre qui n\u2019\u00e9voque pas la dystopie environnementale. C\u2019est finalement une \u00e9tude des liens familiaux et affectifs dans un contexte qui pousse \u00e0 les exacerber ou les briser. \u00ab\u00a0Families Like Ours\u00a0\u00bb est ainsi un drame intimiste travers\u00e9 par le sentiment d\u2019impuissance et l\u2019exode de la solidarit\u00e9 qui d\u00e9peint la condition humaine dans toute sa complexit\u00e9.<\/p><p>Quasiment sans musique et sans artifice, c\u2019est une s\u00e9rie qui prend le temps de mettre en sc\u00e8ne ses personnages (tous plus ou moins li\u00e9s autour d\u2019un noyau familial), peut-\u00eatre m\u00eame un peu trop en d\u00e9multipliant ses protagonistes. On a parfois l\u2019impression que les personnages font beaucoup de mauvais choix, mais il est bien s\u00fbr facile de juger dans notre position, ce qui rappelle in\u00e9vitablement la fragilit\u00e9 des choix dans ces situations. Malgr\u00e9 quelques faiblesses narratives et de rythme, \u00ab\u00a0Families Like Ours\u00a0\u00bb reste une s\u00e9rie \u00e9mouvante qui nous place \u00e0 hauteur de personnages dans un contexte politico-environnemental pr\u00e9cis\u00e9 par <em>flash info<\/em> \u00e0 la radio au fur et \u00e0 mesure. C\u2019est une s\u00e9rie multilingue, assez froide, parfois tr\u00e8s triste qui parvient dans ses meilleurs moments \u00e0 concilier un point de vue collectif d\u2019une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 avec un effet de loupe sur quelques hommes et femmes dont on observe la transhumance.<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Rapha\u00ebl Sallenave<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-42480e6 elementor-widget__width-initial exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"42480e6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\"><p>In Denmark, the increasing rise in water levels is no longer sustainable for the country&rsquo;s economy, forcing the government to settle for forced, widespread exile. For his first series, Thomas Vinterberg therefore goes beyond forecasts by imagining a rise in water levels on such a scale that the entire population is forced to evacuate and start all over again from scratch in other European countries. The Danish people thus scatter and turn into a diaspora, leaving behind deserted homes, schools and streets. As families and friends are separated, as a country fades, the economy loses its value&#8230; but feelings remain.<\/p><p>The director of \u201cFesten\u201d, \u201cThe Hunt\u201d and, more recently, the Oscar-winning \u201cAnother Round\u201d, approaches this dystopia as realistic material, portraying a handful of characters and, through them, a nation that is drifting apart. It&rsquo;s not a disaster show; things happen slowly, leaving the rising waters off-screen. The dystopia is then, less about climate catastrophe than it is about social reversal, examining the ability of Western Europeans to cope with the condition of today&rsquo;s migrants. While the concept is not yet up to date, and not necessarily very likely either (the exile of an entire country), it is dealt with in a hyper-realistic and well-documented way, with regard to refugee policies in various European countries.<\/p><p>Rather than climate crisis, the theme is really the collapse of privilege, from the point of view of a bourgeoisie gradually dispossessed of its comforts and property. Vinterberg stages this reversal of the migration flow without irony, to question what remains when the fortunate lose everything&#8230; the tearing apart of families and the love of one&rsquo;s own, hence the title, which does not refer to an ecological dystopia. Ultimately, it&rsquo;s a study of family and emotional ties in a context that tends to exacerbate or break them. \u201cFamilies Like Ours\u201d is thus an intimate drama rooted in feelings of powerlessness and the exodus of solidarity, depicting the human condition in all its complexity.<\/p><p>With almost no music or artifice, this is a series that takes its time to set the scene for its characters (all more or less bound around a family circle), perhaps even a little too much by multiplying its protagonists. We sometimes get the feeling that the characters make a lot of bad choices, but of course it&rsquo;s easy to judge from our perspective, which inevitably reminds us of the frailty of choices in these situations. Despite some narrative and pacing shortcomings, \u201cFamilies Like Ours\u201d remains a moving series that brings us down to character level in a political-environmental context clarified by radio newsflash as it goes along. It&rsquo;s a multilingual, fairly cold, sometimes very sad series that manages in its best moments to balance a collective point of view of a society with a close-up view of a few men and women whose migration we witness.<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Rapha\u00ebl Sallenave<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section
