Mais un diagnostic va tout changer et le pousser \u00e0 rejeter la banalit\u00e9 de son quotidien, se d\u00e9passer et vivre pleinement.<\/p><p>Pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 au festival de Sundance, ce remake \u00e9crit par Kazuo Ishiguro transpose le r\u00e9cit de Kurosawa \u2013 lui-m\u00eame inspir\u00e9 du roman \u00ab La mort d\u2019Ivan Ilitch \u00bb (1886) de Tolsto\u00ef \u2013 \u00e0 Londres sans le moderniser. Si le r\u00e9alisateur sud-africain rafra\u00eechit l\u2019\u0153uvre d\u2019origine, il ne la renouvelle cependant pas. En cela, c\u2019est un remake qui peut donc \u00eatre quelque peu frustrant mais cette transposition n\u2019enl\u00e8ve rien \u00e0 la qualit\u00e9 du film.<\/p><p>Bill Nighy cr\u00e8ve l\u2019\u00e9cran par ses expressions minimalistes qui transmettent toute une carri\u00e8re d\u2019\u00e9motion aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s des jeunes Aimee Lou Wood (Sex Education) et Alex Sharp (Les Sept de Chicago). Mais Oliver Hermanus impressionne surtout par son sens du cadrage et de la photo dans son format 4\/3 qui installe un style tr\u00e8s soign\u00e9 et une atmosph\u00e8re tr\u00e8s noble. La r\u00e9flexion sur le sens de la vie est toujours l\u00e0 et pleine de m\u00e9lancolie avec un questionnement universel et existentiel : Avons-nous v\u00e9cu ? Mais qu\u2019est-ce que vivre ? But a diagnosis will change everything and drive him to break away from the banality of his daily life, to overcome himself and live life to the fullest.<\/p><p>Presented at the Sundance Film Festival, this remake written by Kazuo Ishiguro transposes Kurosawa&rsquo;s story &#8211; itself inspired by Tolstoy&rsquo;s novel \u201cThe Death of Ivan Ilyich\u201d (1886) &#8211; to London without modernizing it. If the South African director gives a fresh look to the original movie, he does not however make it new or different. In that respect, it is a remake that can be somewhat frustrating but this transposition does not diminish in any way the quality of the film.<\/p><p>Bill Nighy shines on the screen with his minimalist expressions that convey a whole career of emotion alongside the young Aimee Lou Wood (Sex Education) and Alex Sharp (The Chicago Seven). But Oliver Hermanus particularly excels with his sense of framing and photography in his 4:3 aspect ratio, which creates a very sophisticated style and a very elegant atmosphere. The reflection on the meaning of life remains and is full of melancholy with a universal and existential questioning: Have we lived? But what is living? And what would we do if we knew our final dead-line?<\/p><p>\u201cLiving\u201d is a fable preaching the ephemeral moments of life as being all unique, their meaning thus lying in the sharing of the
