Quel bonheur de retrouver l\u2019Estaque et ses fid\u00e8les acteurs !<\/p><p>Maria (Ariane Ascaride toujours aussi lumineuse) n\u2019est plus toute jeune et travaille aupr\u00e8s de personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es en difficult\u00e9. Elle est tr\u00e8s d\u00e9vou\u00e9e et \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9coute. Cependant sa vie est bien difficile. Une pr\u00e9carit\u00e9 aupr\u00e8s d\u2019un mari qui joue r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement sa pension au jeu. Maria a un petit-fils qu\u2019elle adore. Elle esp\u00e8re pour lui un avenir de musicien brillant. Pour cela, elle n\u2019h\u00e9site pas \u00e0 voler quelques euros \u00e0 ses patients, notamment \u00e0 Monsieur Moreau, Jean-Pierre Darroussin, d\u00e9licieux en homme vou\u00e9 \u00e0 la solitude, \u00e0 qui elle vole et signe de faux ch\u00e8ques afin de payer la location du piano et des cours \u00e0 son petit-fils. Maria aspire \u00e0 une vie meilleure. Chaque jour, elle pointe. Sa vie est ponctu\u00e9e de gestes r\u00e9p\u00e9titifs. Elle ne culpabilise absolument pas, car le bonheur de son petit-fils passe avant tout. Et surtout, elle ne mesure pas la port\u00e9e de ses actes.<\/p><p>O\u00f9 est son bonheur ? Avec son mari, ils se sont endett\u00e9s pour cette maison avec piscine. Une piscine vide \u00e0 l\u2019eau verd\u00e2tre. A-t-elle un jour servi ? Une vie de couple aux silences qui en dit long o\u00f9 les reproches r\u00e9sonnent.<\/p><p>Sa fille, Jennifer vit avec son mari, K\u00e9vin, touchant Robinson St\u00e9venin, une vie sans pr\u00e9tention o\u00f9 l\u2019argent manque. Jennifer, lumineuse Marilou Aussilloux, est rayonnante, simple, sans pr\u00e9tention et tente de vivre au mieux ses difficult\u00e9s quotidiennes. Elle va succomber au charme de Laurent. Son personnage prend alors une tout autre dimension.<\/p><p>Monsieur Moreau attend chaque jour avec impatience la venue de Maria, seule personne qui illumine son quotidien. Son fils, Laurent, magistral Gr\u00e9goire Leprince-Ringuet, ne pense qu\u2019\u00e0 h\u00e9riter de la maison de son p\u00e8re et souhaite le mettre en maison de retraite. Il nous appara\u00eet, au d\u00e9but, bien antipathique, voire d\u00e9testable. Laurent tient avec sa femme une petite agence immobili\u00e8re. C\u2019est un homme d\u2019affaires aigri qui ne pardonne pas \u00e0 son p\u00e8re d\u2019\u00eatre parti. Il nous appara\u00eet vil, int\u00e9ress\u00e9, hautain, mais cet homme est avant tout tr\u00e8s malheureux et dans l\u2019impossibilit\u00e9 de communiquer. Son comportement va compl\u00e8tement changer lors de sa rencontre avec Jennifer \u00e0 qui il va r\u00e9clamer l\u2019argent vol\u00e9 par sa m\u00e8re. Choc de culture, de niveau social. Cette rencontre improbable, nouveau chez Robert Gu\u00e9diguian, ouvre une porte \u00e0 l\u2019espoir. On ne peut \u00eatre que sensible et d\u00e9licieusement touch\u00e9 par la sc\u00e8ne au sein de l\u2019agence. Un moment de po\u00e9sie, d\u2019amour, une parenth\u00e8se sinc\u00e8re. Le charme op\u00e8re. L\u2019amour pourrait-il effacer les diff\u00e9rences sociales ? Gr\u00e9goire Leprince-Ringuet, nouvel acteur dans ce cercle d\u2019amis, est bouleversant de v\u00e9rit\u00e9, de justesse.<\/p><p>Ariane Ascaride est film\u00e9e avec amour. Elle illumine l\u2019\u00e9cran. C\u2019est le soleil pour toutes ces \u00ab petites gens \u00bb et pour nous spectateurs. Elle d\u00e9borde d\u2019\u00e9nergie, de bienveillance, elle rassure. Certes elle d\u00e9borde du cadre de sa mission. Comment ne pas lui pardonner ses \u00e9carts. Comment ne pas les comprendre. C\u2019est impossible. Pourquoi ces gens n\u2019auraient-ils pas droit \u00e0 la culture, aux voyages, aux loisirs ?<\/p><p>Fable sociale, peut-\u00eatre plus l\u00e9g\u00e8re, qui reste toutefois bien ancr\u00e9e dans le social, le politique.<\/p><p>Film doux, tendre et audacieux o\u00f9 la fraternit\u00e9, la solidarit\u00e9, l\u2019empathie permettent aux hommes de rester dignes ! And what a delight to be back in l&rsquo;Estaque with its familiar actors!<\/p><p>Maria (Ariane Ascaride, as brilliant as ever) is no longer young, and works with elderly people in need. She&rsquo;s very dedicated and a good listener. But her life is hard. She lives a precarious life with a husband who regularly gambles away his pension. Maria has a grandson whom she dearly loves. She hopes he will become a brilliant musician. To achieve this, she doesn&rsquo;t hesitate to steal money from her patients, including Monsieur Moreau (Jean-Pierre Darroussin), a delightful man doomed to loneliness, from whom she steals and forges checks to pay for her grandson&rsquo;s piano rental and lessons. Maria longs for a better life. Every day, she clocks in. Her life is marked by repetitive gestures. She feels absolutely no guilt, because her grandson&rsquo;s happiness comes first. Above all, she doesn&rsquo;t realize the consequences of her actions.<\/p><p>Where&rsquo;s her happiness? With her husband, they got into debt for this house with a swimming pool. An empty pool with greenish water. Has it ever been used at all? A couple&rsquo;s life of silences that speak volumes, where blame resonates.<\/p><p>Her daughter, Jennifer, lives with her husband, K\u00e9vin (played by a touching Robinson St\u00e9venin) an unpretentious life where money is scarce. Jennifer, played by the luminous Marilou Aussilloux, is radiant, simple and unpretentious, and tries to make the best of her daily struggles. She succumbs to Laurent&rsquo;s charm. Her character takes on a whole new dimension.<\/p><p>Monsieur Moreau waits impatiently every day for Maria, the only person to brighten his day. His son, Laurent, masterfully played by Gr\u00e9goire Leprince-Ringuet, is only interested in inheriting his father&rsquo;s house, and wants to put him in a retirement home. At first, we find him unsympathetic, even loathsome. Laurent runs a small real estate agency with his wife. He&rsquo;s a bitter businessman who can&rsquo;t forgive his father for leaving him. He comes across as vile, self-interested and haughty, but above all this man is very unhappy and unable to communicate. His behavior changes completely when he meets Jennifer, from whom he claims the money stolen by his mother. A clash of cultures and social backgrounds. This unlikely encounter, something new in Robert Gu\u00e9diguian&rsquo;s work, opens the door to hope. The scene in the agency is both sensitive and delightfully touching. A moment of poetry, of love, a sincere interlude. The charm works. Could love erase social differences? Gr\u00e9goire Leprince-Ringuet, a new actor in this circle of friends, is deeply moving in his truth and authenticity.<\/p><p>Ariane Ascaride is filmed with love. She lights up the screen. She&rsquo;s the sunshine for all these \u201clittle people\u201d and for us, the viewers. She&rsquo;s full of energy, kindness and reassurance. Of course, she goes beyond the scope of her mission. How can we not forgive her for her excesses? How can we not understand them? It&rsquo;s just not possible. Why shouldn&rsquo;t these people have the right to culture, travel and leisure?<\/p><p>This is a social fable, perhaps a lighter one, but one that remains firmly rooted in social and political issues.<\/p><p>This is a gentle, tender and daring film in which fraternity, solidarity and empathy help people to remain dignified! These \u201cpoor people\u201d, these \u201cpeople of little means\u201d, the title of a poem by Victor Hugo read in part by Maria.<\/p><p>What a lovely title, \u201cLa Pie Voleuse\u201d (lit.
