Il demande alors \u00e0 l\u2019intendant du clan, la permission d\u2019accomplir le seppuku traditionnel, le suicide rituel du samoura\u00ef aussi connu sous le nom d\u2019harakiri, dans leur r\u00e9sidence. Commence alors un double r\u00e9cit se recoupant pour culminer sur l\u2019explication de la volont\u00e9 du r\u014dnin et l\u2019accomplissement de son destin.<\/p><p>Kobayashi signe ici un film d\u2019une grande cruaut\u00e9 en g\u00e9rant avec maestria la tension crescendo et l\u2019av\u00e8nement de la violence presque exclusivement \u00e0 travers l\u2019intensit\u00e9 du jeu de Tatsuya Nakadai et son regard per\u00e7ant. La photographie dans un noir et blanc violemment contrast\u00e9 et la bande originale de T\u014dru Takemitsu viennent renforcer la puissance de l\u2019histoire. Si son combat final, tout comme la structure du sc\u00e9nario d\u2019ailleurs, a inspir\u00e9 de nombreux films dont le c\u00e9l\u00e8bre \u00ab Kill Bill \u00bb de Tarantino, \u00ab Hara Kiri \u00bb reste avant tout une critique du syst\u00e8me f\u00e9odal et du pouvoir japonais vide de sens dans un cadre de film de samoura\u00ef. La figure du Shogun vide ouvrant et cl\u00f4turant le film ainsi que la volont\u00e9 absolue d\u2019\u00e9touffer les erreurs commises sous pr\u00e9texte de tradition et de r\u00e9putation d\u00e9montrent parfaitement le message du r\u00e9alisateur.<\/p><p>Un film \u00e0 voir et \u00e0 ne pas oublier ! He then asks the clan&rsquo;s steward for permission to perform the traditional seppuku, the ritual suicide of the samurai also known as harakiri, in their compound. A double narrative then begins, intersecting to culminate in the explanation of the r\u014dnin&rsquo;s will and the fulfillment of his destiny.<\/p><p>Kobayashi has created a film of great cruelty by masterfully managing the crescendo of tension and the advent of violence almost exclusively through the intensity of Tatsuya Nakadai&rsquo;s acting and his penetrating look. The photography in a violently contrasting black and white and the original score by T\u014dru Takemitsu enhance the power of the story. If its final battle, as well as the structure of the script, has inspired many films, including Tarantino&rsquo;s famous \u201cKill Bill\u201d, \u201cHarakiri\u201d remains above all a critique of the feudal system and of the Japanese power devoid of meaning within a samurai film setting. The figure of the empty Shogun opening and closing the film as well as the absolute will to cover up the mistakes made under the guise of tradition and reputation perfectly illustrate the director&rsquo;s statement.<\/p><p>This is a film to see and not to forget! A very faithful Japanese remake was by the way later released and presented at Cannes in 2011.<\/p><p>Rapha\u00ebl
