Derri\u00e8re la fa\u00e7ade publique d\u2019amateur de whisky et de coureur de jupon, se cache un fin politicien, connaisseur de la sc\u00e8ne internationale et d\u00e9fenseur de valeurs \u00e9thiques. Les Sovi\u00e9tiques combattent les moudjahidin sur le sol afghan depuis 1979, c\u2019est une occasion en or pour leur donner leur propre Vietnam ! L\u2019enjeu va donc \u00eatre de financer la r\u00e9sistance afghane, mais nous sommes en pleine guerre froide, l\u2019implication des \u00c9tats-Unis ne peut donc \u00eatre directe \u2026 Charles Wilson s\u2019embarque alors dans des n\u00e9gociations avec Isra\u00ebl, l\u2019\u00c9gypte, l\u2019Arabie Saoudite et le Pakistan. Quelques petits probl\u00e8mes sont \u00e0 pr\u00e9voir \u2026<\/p><p>Dernier film de Mike Nichols (Qui a peur de Virginia Woolf ? ; Le Laur\u00e9at), sorti en 2007, \u00ab La Guerre selon Charlie Wilson \u00bb est \u00e9crit par Aaron Sorkin, sc\u00e9nariste \u00ab Des Hommes d\u2019Honneur \u00bb, de \u00ab The Social Network \u00bb ou des \u00ab 7 de Chicago \u00bb. \u00c7a donne une satire politique incroyablement mise en sc\u00e8ne. Un r\u00e9cit historique rempli de moments hilarants, le tout port\u00e9 par une critique politique toujours d\u2019actualit\u00e9. La question centrale du film est celle du budget allou\u00e9 aux op\u00e9rations secr\u00e8tes pour l\u2019Afghanistan et au travers de cette th\u00e9matique on aper\u00e7oit les mises \u00e0 l\u2019agenda et int\u00e9r\u00eats fluctuants le tout sous fond de manipulation politique. Un ensemble qui fonctionne \u00e0 merveille malgr\u00e9 le sujet \u00e0 premi\u00e8re vue compliqu\u00e9. On est directement port\u00e9 par l\u2019histoire et on ne peut qu\u2019\u00eatre sonn\u00e9 par la fin du film. Funny. Righteous.<\/p><p>1980. Charles Wilson is the representative of the second Texas congressional district in the United States. Behind the public facade of a whisky lover and womanizer, hides a clever politician, expert of the international arena and defender of ethical values. The Soviets have been fighting the mujaheddin on Afghan soil since 1979. This is a wonderful opportunity to give them their own Vietnam! The challenge will therefore be to finance the Afghan resistance, but we are in the middle of the Cold War, so the involvement of the United States cannot be direct &#8230; Charles Wilson then embarks on negotiations with Israel, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. A few minor issues may arise &#8230;<\/p><p>Mike Nichols&rsquo; last film (\u201cWho&rsquo;s afraid of Virginia Woolf?\u201d; \u201cThe Graduate\u201d), released in 2007, \u201cCharlie Wilson&rsquo;s War\u201d is written by Aaron Sorkin, screenwriter of \u201cA few good men\u201d, \u201cThe Social Network\u201d or \u201cThe trial of the Chicago 7\u201d. The result is an incredibly directed political satire. A historical narrative full of hilarious moments, all carried by a political criticism that is still relevant today. The central issue of the film is the budget allocated to covert operations in Afghanistan and through this theme we see the changing agendas and interests against a backdrop of political manipulation. An ensemble that works wonderfully in spite of the complicated subject at first glance. The story drives us directly and we can only be struck by the end of the film. Ultimately \u201cnobody gives a damn about Afghanistan!\u201d.<\/p><p>The film is also an opportunity to discover Tom Hanks in an unusual role, but one that he once again plays wonderfully alongside a stellar cast with the late Philip Seymour Hoffman as a CIA agent, Julia Roberts as a Texan femme fatale and Amy Adams as a devoted assistant.<\/p><p>Just an excellent film!<\/p><p>Rapha\u00ebl
