suis venu en France.\u00a0\u00bb C\u2019est ce qu\u2019avoue, un soir, \u00e0 demi-mot, Souleymane, \u00e0 l\u2019un de ses compagnons d\u2019exil. Pourtant, dans deux jours, il doit se pr\u00e9senter \u00e0 l\u2019OFPRA, dans le cadre de sa demande d\u2019asile. Et pour obtenir le statut officiel de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9, il doit y raconter son histoire. Multi-prim\u00e9 \u00e0 Cannes (notamment dans la section \u00ab\u00a0Un certain regard\u00a0\u00bb), le long-m\u00e9trage r\u00e9alis\u00e9 par Boris Lojkine nous plonge dans les tr\u00e9fonds de la nuit parisienne, o\u00f9 nombreux sont les gens qui triment pour survivre.<\/p><p>\u00ab\u00a0L\u2019histoire de Souleymane\u00a0\u00bb, c\u2019est celle d\u2019un Guin\u00e9en \u00e9puis\u00e9 qui gal\u00e8re tous les jours. Incarn\u00e9 par Abou Sangare \u2013 com\u00e9dien non professionnel, sans papiers, r\u00e9compens\u00e9 pour son interpr\u00e9tation \u2013, Souleymane est un jeune homme de l\u2019ombre, solitaire. \u00ab\u00a0Sous ce calme, il y a quelque chose qui bouillonne\u00a0\u00bb, explique Boris Lojkine, en parlant de l\u2019acteur, mais aussi peut-\u00eatre du h\u00e9ros de son film \u2013 parce que ce dernier est en partie inspir\u00e9 de la vie d\u2019Abou. Souleymane p\u00e9dale sans rel\u00e2che dans les rues de Paris, \u00e0 livrer des repas \u00e7\u00e0 et l\u00e0 sans reconnaissance, et il vivote \u00e0 peine. Alors lorsque le stress de l\u2019\u00e9ch\u00e9ance de l\u2019OFPRA lui monte progressivement, sa t\u00eate ne tient qu\u2019\u00e0 un fil\u2026<\/p><p>Bien que le h\u00e9ros ait constamment des \u00e9couteurs aux oreilles, le film n\u2019a aucune musique\u00a0; juste le brouhaha urbain, ponctu\u00e9 par moments de silences assourdissants. Multilingues, les dialogues en fran\u00e7ais, en peul, en malink\u00e9 ou encore en dioula sont d\u2019une authenticit\u00e9 brute. Avec un format sp\u00e9cifique, pas tout \u00e0 fait carr\u00e9, la cam\u00e9ra se focalise quasi exclusivement sur Souleymane, sur son visage empreint de tension et d\u2019inqui\u00e9tude, sur ses v\u00eatements bleus se fondant dans l\u2019obscurit\u00e9 indigo. Tout dans le film tente de nous faire p\u00e9n\u00e9trer dans l\u2019esprit de son h\u00e9ros qui r\u00e9siste \u00e0 ses \u00e9motions. Alors quand Souleymane vacille, nous vacillons aussi. Face \u00e0 des parrains qui le trahissent, face \u00e0 des policiers qui l\u2019intimident, face \u00e0 une femme d\u2019une froideur gla\u00e7ante (jou\u00e9e par Nina Meurisse), nous venons \u00e0 douter de l\u2019humanit\u00e9 de notre monde qui para\u00eet en suspens, comme le sort du h\u00e9ros. That&rsquo;s what Souleymane half-heartedly admits to one of his fellow exiles one evening. However, in two days&rsquo; time, he has to report to the French Refugee Office (OFPRA) as part of his application for asylum. And to get official refugee status, he has to tell his story. Boris Lojkine&rsquo;s feature film, which won multiple awards at Cannes (particularly in the \u201cUn certain regard\u201d competition), takes us deep into the Parisian nightlife, where countless people struggle to make a living.<\/p><p>\u201cSouleymane\u2019s story\u201d is the story of an exhausted Guinean who struggles every day. Played by Abou Sangare \u2013 a non-professional, undocumented actor who won an award for his performance \u2013 Souleymane is a solitary, shadowy young man. \u201cUnderneath this calm, there&rsquo;s something bubbling,\u201d explains Boris Lojkine, referring to the actor, but also perhaps to the hero of his film \u2013 because the latter is partially inspired by Abou&rsquo;s life. Souleymane rides his bike relentlessly through the streets of Paris, delivering meals here and there without any gratitude, and he&rsquo;s barely scraping by. So, when the stress of the OFPRA deadline gradually creeps up on him, his mind is hanging by a thread&#8230;<\/p><p>Although the hero is constantly wired to his headphones, the film has no music at all, just the urban hubbub, at times broken by deafening silences. Multilingual, the dialogues in French, Peul, Malink\u00e9 and Dioula are utterly authentic. With a specific, not quite square aspect ratio, the camera focuses almost exclusively on Souleymane, on his face imbued with tension and anxiety, on his blue clothes blending into the indigo darkness. Everything in the film strives to draw us into the mind of its hero, who resists his emotions. So, when Souleymane falters, so do we. Faced with sponsors who betray him, police officers who intimidate him, and a chillingly cold woman (played by Nina Meurisse), we come to doubt the humanity of our world, which seems to hang in the balance, like the hero&rsquo;s fate. And that, can leave us speechless.<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Axel
