peut-elle d\u00e9noncer \u00e0 la fois aussi symboliquement et aussi abruptement un r\u00e9gime politique que \u00ab\u00a0Les graines du figuier sauvage\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0? La r\u00e9ponse se trouve dans l\u2019effort de Mohammad Rasoulof (Le diable n\u2019existe pas \u2013 Ours d\u2019or 2020) et de son \u00e9quipe \u00e0 transcender la fiction d\u2019une famille pour la plonger dans la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 d\u2019une soci\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/p><p>\u00c0 T\u00e9h\u00e9ran, \u00e0 la fin de l\u2019ann\u00e9e 2022, ce qui devait \u00eatre un r\u00eave pour Iman, sa femme et ses filles, devient rapidement un cauchemar. Tout juste promu enqu\u00eateur au tribunal r\u00e9volutionnaire de la capitale, l\u2019honn\u00eate homme est vite rattrap\u00e9 par la machine \u00e0 horreurs de son administration, confront\u00e9e de surcro\u00eet \u00e0 de nouvelles tensions soci\u00e9tales, d\u2019ampleur mondiale. D\u00e9j\u00e0 troubl\u00e9 par la nature profonde de son travail, Iman ne peut pas non plus compter sur ses filles ou sa femme, notamment lorsqu\u2019il perd son arme de service, cens\u00e9e les prot\u00e9ger\u2026<\/p><p>Mais le long-m\u00e9trage se concentre bien plus sur ses personnages f\u00e9minins, \u00e0 savoir Najmeh (la m\u00e8re), Rezvan (l\u2019a\u00een\u00e9e) et Sana (la cadette). Avec un jeu d\u00e9licat et subtil, ainsi qu\u2019une intrigue fond\u00e9e sur les mensonges, les cachotteries et les illusions, les trois femmes ne r\u00e9v\u00e8lent jamais totalement leurs pens\u00e9es les plus sinc\u00e8res, en particulier Najmeh, tiraill\u00e9e entre son amour, sa peur et sa foi. Toutes trois enferm\u00e9es dans leur appartement en raison des \u00e9meutes, elles savent pourtant tr\u00e8s bien ce qui se passe dehors, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 m\u00eame voir la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 leur exploser \u00e0 la figure par le biais d\u2019une amie de Rezvan.<\/p><p>Car le film, bien que fictionnel, nous rappelle \u00e0 intervalles r\u00e9guliers que l\u2019histoire de cette famille se passe au moment de l\u2019insurrection du mouvement \u2018Femme, Vie, Libert\u00e9\u2019 \u2013 qui s\u2019est d\u00e9cha\u00een\u00e9 apr\u00e8s la mort de Mahsa Amini et qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s, tr\u00e8s s\u00e9v\u00e8rement \u00e9touff\u00e9. Le r\u00e9alisateur expose ainsi de longues et bouleversantes s\u00e9quences de v\u00e9ritables vid\u00e9os publi\u00e9es sur les r\u00e9seaux sociaux lors des manifestations et de leur insoutenable et brutale r\u00e9pression. L\u2019on pourrait ainsi presque parler de hors champ indirect, tant ces extraits tranchent avec le film, sans pour autant faire oublier les craintes de Najmeh, Rezvan et Sana, dont les visages, corps et actions sont quasi syst\u00e9matiquement cantonn\u00e9s \u00e0 un cadrage oppressant, voire s\u00e9questrant.<\/p><p>Parce que \u00ab\u00a0Les graines du figuier sauvage\u00a0\u00bb raconte aussi l\u2019histoire d\u2019une huile du r\u00e9gime iranien, incarnation sobre mais d\u2019autant plus pesante du patriarcat de la R\u00e9publique islamique, sombrant dans la parano\u00efa et la violence lorsqu\u2019il se sent finalement vuln\u00e9rable face \u00e0 une r\u00e9volte qui se montre bien plus virulente et puissante que pr\u00e9vu. The answer lies in the determination of Mohammad Rasoulof (\u201cThere is No Evil\u201d \u2013 Golden Bear 2020) and his team to transcend the story of a family and bring it into the reality of a society.<\/p><p>In Tehran, in late 2022, what was supposed to be a dream for Iman, his wife and daughters, quickly becomes a nightmare. Having just been promoted to investigator at the capital&rsquo;s court of revolution, the honest man is quickly caught up in the horror machine of his administration, which is also facing new societal pressures on a global scale. Already troubled by the very nature of his job, Iman can&rsquo;t count on his daughters or his wife either, especially when he loses his service weapon, meant to protect them&#8230;<\/p><p>But the film focuses much more on its female characters, namely Najmeh (the mother), Rezvan (the eldest) and Sana (the youngest). With delicate, subtle acting and a plot built on lies, secrecy and illusions, the three women never fully reveal their most sincere thoughts, especially Najmeh, torn between her love, her fear and her faith. All three are locked in their apartment because of the riots, yet they know all too well what&rsquo;s going on outside, even to the point of having reality blown up in their faces by one of Rezvan&rsquo;s friends.<\/p><p>Although fictional, the film regularly reminds us that this family&rsquo;s story takes place at the time of the uprising of the &lsquo;Woman, Life, Freedom&rsquo; movement \u2013 which broke out after the death of Mahsa Amini and was very, very severely repressed. The director shows long, moving sequences of real videos posted on social media during the demonstrations and their unbearable, brutal repression. One could almost speak of an indirect off-screen effect, as these scenes stand in stark contrast to the film, but do not detract from the fears of Najmeh, Rezvan and Sana, whose faces, bodies and actions are almost systematically confined to oppressive, even sequestering framing.<\/p><p>Indeed, \u201cThe Seed of the Sacred Fig\u201d also tells the story of an Iranian government agent, a low-key but all the more heavy-handed embodiment of the Islamic Republic&rsquo;s patriarchy, falling into paranoia and violence when he finally feels vulnerable in the face of a rising tide that proves far more fierce and powerful than expected. Where fiction collides with reality&#8230;<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Rapha\u00ebl
