met en sc\u00e8ne un convoi navigant en mer de Barents depuis l\u2019Islande en direction du port russe de Mourmansk. Nous sommes en 1942, et les convois scandinaves font route \u00e0 travers l\u2019oc\u00e9an arctique pour livrer des vivres et de l\u2019\u00e9quipement \u00e0 l\u2019Arm\u00e9e rouge nouvellement alli\u00e9e. C\u2019est ainsi un film de guerre historique norv\u00e9gien qui met en lumi\u00e8re certains \u00e9v\u00e9nements m\u00e9connus de la seconde guerre mondiale et certains de ses h\u00e9ros oubli\u00e9s. Il pr\u00e9sente une vision peu abord\u00e9e chez nous du conflit, sous un angle assez patriotique mais absolument pas h\u00e9ro\u00efque, laissant derri\u00e8re lui l\u2019image des courageux soldats bravant l\u2019\u00e9preuve du trajet et de la guerre pour sauver la libert\u00e9, au profit de gens ordinaires contraints de surmonter leurs pires peurs en mer.<\/p><p>A l\u2019image de son titre provisoire \u00ab\u00a0the fog of war\u00a0\u00bb le film se concentre sur les incertitudes, le manque de communication et de confiance auxquels font face les membres d\u2019\u00e9quipage civils de tels convois. Et en ajoutant la menace des torpilles d\u2019U-boot ou des bombes de la Luftwaffe dans cet environnement d\u2019effroi et de doute, la porte est grande ouverte aux tensions \u00e0 bord. Le film d\u2019Henrik Martin Dahlsbakken (Munch) se concentre ainsi plus sur son navire et ses personnages que sur l\u2019action atour bien qu\u2019il n\u2019en manque pas.<\/p><p>\u00ab The Arctic Convoy \u00bb nous happe d\u00e8s ses premi\u00e8res minutes et ne nous l\u00e2che jamais gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une tension maintenue entre menaces ext\u00e9rieures et oppositions internes. C\u2019est un film intense \u2013 bien qu\u2019il aurait peut-\u00eatre pu l\u2019\u00eatre encore plus sur ce point-l\u00e0 \u2013 captivant et r\u00e9aliste. Avec tr\u00e8s peu d\u2019effets sp\u00e9ciaux (surtout pour un film naval et historique de cette ampleur), il fait preuve d\u2019une excellente gestion budg\u00e9taire et d\u2019une mise en sc\u00e8ne r\u00e9ussie pour reconstituer la situation de l\u2019\u00e9poque \u2013 notamment en utilisant un vieux transporteur de charbon datant de 1911. En somme, c\u2019est bien film\u00e9, bien jou\u00e9 et cr\u00e9dible, et assez similaire au film \u00ab Greyhound \u00bb (2020) avec Tom Hanks \u2013 qui se concentrait plus sur l\u2019action \u2013 mais avec presque un dixi\u00e8me du budget (environ $6M). It&rsquo;s 1942, and Scandinavian convoys are making their way across the Arctic Ocean to deliver supplies and equipment to the newly-allied Russian Army. This Norwegian historical war film brings to light some of the lesser-known events of the Second World War and some of its forgotten heroes. It offers a perspective on the conflict that is little-known over here, from a rather patriotic but by no means heroic standpoint, leaving behind the portrayal of brave soldiers defying the ordeal of travel and war to defend freedom, in favor of ordinary people forced to overcome their worst fears at sea.<\/p><p>As its working title implies, \u201cthe fog of war\u201d focuses on the uncertainties, lack of communication and lack of trust faced by civilian crew members on such convoys. And by adding the threat of U-boat torpedoes or Luftwaffe bombs to this environment of dread and doubt, the door is wide open for tensions on board. Henrik Martin Dahlsbakken&rsquo;s (Munch) film focuses more on the ship and its characters than on the action, although it does not lack for it.<\/p><p>\u201cThe Arctic Convoy\u201d grips us from the very first minutes and never lets go, thanks to the tension sustained between external threats and internal oppositions. This is an intense film \u2013 though perhaps it could have been even more so but that&rsquo;s alright \u2013 captivating and realistic. With very few special effects (especially for a naval and historical film of this scale), it shows excellent budget management and successful direction to recreate the period settings \u2013 especially in using an old coal hauler from 1911. Overall, it&rsquo;s well shot, well-acted and entirely believable, along similar lines to the Tom Hanks film \u201cGreyhound\u201d (2020) \u2013 which focused more on action \u2013 but with nearly a tenth of the budget (around $6M). A wonderful achievement!<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Rapha\u00ebl
