d\u2019action stylis\u00e9s se plonge dans les archives de Winston Churchill pour une mission secr\u00e8te compl\u00e8tement dingue aux cons\u00e9quences capitales pour l\u2019effort de guerre\u00a0! Guy Ritchie (Snatch\u00a0; Sherlock Holmes\u00a0; The Gentlemen) met cette fois en sc\u00e8ne un v\u00e9ritable \u00e9pisode de l\u2019histoire anglaise, l\u2019op\u00e9ration Postmaster\u00a0: un commando h\u00e9t\u00e9roclite de ren\u00e9gats est envoy\u00e9 en 1942 en Afrique de l\u2019Ouest pour saboter le point de ravitaillement des sous-marins allemands. Bas\u00e9 sur des faits r\u00e9els dont le trait est volontairement grossi pour jouer sur l\u2019excessif, le comique et le d\u00e9jant\u00e9, cette histoire pr\u00e9sente donc la formation d\u2019un premier commando compos\u00e9 d\u2019ex militaires ou de taulards envoy\u00e9 derri\u00e8re les lignes ennemies comme un dernier espoir, pour sauver la guerre, plac\u00e9 dans une \u00e9quipe de marginaux \u2013 un sch\u00e9ma narratif r\u00e9jouissant qui a d\u00e9j\u00e0 fait ses preuves. C\u2019est en effet une histoire non seulement int\u00e9ressante et qui colle, qui plus est, extr\u00eamement bien avec le style du r\u00e9alisateur, mais force est de constater que son potentiel n\u2019est pas parfaitement exploit\u00e9.<\/p><p>Avec ce m\u00e9lange entre historique, comique et action, le film est port\u00e9 par une grande \u00e9nergie notamment transmise par son casting qui s\u2019amuse beaucoup \u00e0 l\u2019image d\u2019un Alan Ritchson (Jack Reacher) en grand fou sanguinaire et d\u2019un Henry Cavill (Superman\u00a0; Witcher) qui interpr\u00e8te le c\u00e9l\u00e8bre March-Philipps qui aurait fortement inspir\u00e9 la figure de 007 par un certain Ian Fleming \u00e9galement pr\u00e9sent dans cette op\u00e9ration. Dans l\u2019ensemble, ce casting de stars forme une bonne \u00e9quipe, bien qu\u2019elle semble regrouper quelques acteurs qui ont eu le vent en poupe avant de progressivement s\u2019essouffler ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es avec leurs choix de films (Henry Cavill, Henry Golding, Eiza Gonzalez). Ils d\u00e9gomment n\u00e9anmoins les Nazis par paquet de douze avec humour et violence dans une ambiance d\u00e9contract\u00e9e \u2013 qui peine \u00e0 nous faire croire \u00e0 de dangereux criminels \u2013 mais r\u00e9ussit une mission divertissante entre rire et action.<\/p><p>C\u2019est un film qui r\u00e9ussit suffisamment sa mission pour captiver et passer un bon moment mais qui passe \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 d\u2019un gros potentiel\u00a0! Bien que la mise en sc\u00e8ne soit assez g\u00e9n\u00e9rique avec son dynamisme et son \u00e9clairage, \u00ab\u00a0Le Minist\u00e8re de la Sale Guerre\u00a0\u00bb est suffisamment bien fait pour divertir et nous garder devant l\u2019\u00e9cran jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la fin mais n\u2019a rien de marquant et sera probablement assez vite oubli\u00e9. Malgr\u00e9 l\u2019ampleur de cette mission historique, l\u2019ambition du film se r\u00e9v\u00e8le tout autre avec un petit film sympathique qui ne cherche aucunement \u00e0 d\u00e9passer ce stade de la s\u00e9rie-B alors que le r\u00e9cit promettait plus et le r\u00e9alisateur semblait parfaitement accord\u00e9 avec le ton d\u2019une telle intrigue. Mais Guy Ritchie semble quelque peu en roue libre ces derniers temps avec un rythme quasi stakhanoviste (de l\u2019ordre des prolifiques Ridley Scott, Woody Allen, Quentin Dupieux avec un ou deux films par an), et des r\u00e9sultats \u2013 aussi bien critiques que financiers \u2013 mitig\u00e9s.<\/p><p>Aussi bien en termes de style que de qualit\u00e9, son nouveau film est ainsi entre son \u00ab\u00a0Agents tr\u00e8s sp\u00e9ciaux\u00a0: Code UNCLE\u00a0\u00bb de 2015 et son \u00ab\u00a0Op\u00e9ration Fortune\u00a0: Ruse de Guerre\u00a0\u00bb (dont le titre \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 trop long) de l\u2019an dernier. Les deux m\u00e9langent une intrigue pleine d\u2019action et de suspense avec un ton comique et d\u00e9complex\u00e9, mais le premier r\u00e9ussissait une mise en sc\u00e8ne et une gestion du ton de qualit\u00e9 quand le second s\u2019enlisait dans un mauvais dosage entre comique, action et loufoque. Ces trois piliers sont de nouveau la base du \u00ab\u00a0Minist\u00e8re de la sale guerre\u00a0\u00bb mais l\u2019\u00e9quilibre ne fonctionne pas tout \u00e0 fait pour un r\u00e9sultat in\u00e9vitablement mitig\u00e9 qui le fait globalement passer inaper\u00e7u et provoque donc \u00e0 nouveau un \u00e9chec financier. This time, Guy Ritchie (Snatch; Sherlock Holmes; The Gentlemen) brings to life a real episode in British history, Operation Postmaster: a ragtag commando of renegades is sent to West Africa in 1942 to cut off the supply point for German submarines. Based on true events, and deliberately fleshed out to play on the excessive, the funny and the wacky, this story depicts the creation of the first commando, made up of ex-servicemen or convicts sent behind enemy lines, as a last hope to save the war put into a team of misfits \u2013 a charming and already successful narrative pattern. This is not only an interesting story, and one that fits in extremely well with the director&rsquo;s style, but it must be said that its potential is not fully utilized.<\/p><p>With this mix of history, comedy and action, the film is driven by a great deal of energy, conveyed mainly by its cast, who have a great deal of fun with Alan Ritchson (Jack Reacher) as the bloodthirsty madman and Henry Cavill (Superman; Witcher) as the famous March-Philipps, who is said to have been the inspiration for 007 by one Ian Fleming, who is also involved in this operation. Overall, this all-star cast makes a good team, although it does seem to bring together a few actors who enjoyed a good run before gradually running out of steam in recent years with their choice of films (Henry Cavill, Henry Golding, Eiza Gonzalez). Nevertheless, they take out Nazis by the dozen with humor and violence in a fun, casual atmosphere \u2013 which struggles to make us believe in dangerous criminals \u2013 but delivers an entertaining mission between laughter and action.<\/p><p>This is a film that achieves its mission well enough to captivate us and give us a good time, but misses out on a great deal of potential! Although the staging is fairly generic with its energy and lighting, \u201cThe Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare\u201d is well-made enough to entertain and keep us in front of the screen until the end, but it&rsquo;s hardly a highlight and will probably be forgotten fairly quickly. Despite the magnitude of this historical mission, the film&rsquo;s ambition proves to be quite different, with a small, enjoyable film that makes no attempt to go beyond the B-movie status, even though the story promised more and the director seemed perfectly attuned to the tone of such a plot. But Guy Ritchie seems to be on a bit of a freewheel these days, with an almost Stakhanovist pace (on a par with the prolific Ridley Scott, Woody Allen and Quentin Dupieux, with one or two films a year), and mixed results \u2013 both critically and financially.<\/p><p>Both in terms of style and quality, his new film falls somewhere between his 2015 \u201cThe Man from UNCLE\u201d and last year&rsquo;s \u201cOperation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre\u201d (whose title was already too long). Both mixed an action-packed, suspenseful plot with an unabashedly comic tone, but the former succeeded in staging and managing tone very well, while the latter got bogged down in the wrong mix of comedy, action and goofiness. These three pillars once again provide the basis for \u201cThe Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare\u201d, but the balance doesn&rsquo;t quite work, with an inevitably mixed result that leaves it largely under the radar and makes it another financial failure. If his recent track record with the highly successful \u201cWrath of Man\u201d and \u201cThe Covenant\u201d is anything to go by, the British director seems to be literally hit and miss lately&#8230; so, I guess, let&rsquo;s eagerly await his next one!<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Rapha\u00ebl
