march\u00e9 sur la Lune\u00a0? Et puis d\u2019abord, comment la lune est-elle devenue sexy aux yeux de tous\u00a0? Des questions qui m\u00ealent aussi bien guerre froide, concurrence de l\u2019image et th\u00e9ories conspirationnistes \u2026 bref un cadre atypique et innovant pour une com\u00e9die romantique\u00a0!<\/p><p>A quelques mois du lancement de la mission Apollo 11, la NASA souffre de ses pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents \u00e9checs et d\u2019un d\u00e9ficit d\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat de la population pour la conqu\u00eate spatiale. Entre alors en sc\u00e8ne Kelly Jones, une sp\u00e9cialiste du marketing, engag\u00e9e par un myst\u00e9rieux agent du gouvernement (Woody Harrelson) de Richard Nixon pour raviver la flamme \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard du programme spatial. Elle va vite se heurter \u00e0 la pr\u00e9caution et la rigueur du directeur des op\u00e9rations, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce qu\u2019elle doive pr\u00e9voir un tournage pour une version de secours si jamais la retransmission en direct ne puisse fonctionner (car la guerre de l\u2019image d\u00e9passe alors celle de la science). Et tout le monde a en effet d\u00e9j\u00e0 entendu parler de cette all\u00e9gation sous-entendant que l\u2019Homme n\u2019a jamais march\u00e9 sur la Lune, et que la retransmission en direct n\u2019\u00e9tait en fait qu\u2019un tournage en studio particuli\u00e8rement r\u00e9aliste du grand Stanley Kubrick.<\/p><p>Apr\u00e8s une autre belle com\u00e9die sentimentale (Love, Simon) Greg Berlanti m\u00e9lange donc \u2013 sur un sc\u00e9nario de Rose Gilroy \u2013 humour et amour dans un r\u00e9cit historique et uchronique. Il nous fait donc une nouvelle fois revivre les dessous de cette fameuse mission Apollo 11 mais dans un style l\u00e9ger et comique tout en ajoutant une r\u00e9flexion moderne sur le complotisme, les techniques de communications, ainsi que l\u2019ambigu\u00eft\u00e9 de la preuve par l\u2019image et la v\u00e9racit\u00e9 de cette image face aux \u2018fake\u2019. Quitte \u00e0 jouer sur la fronti\u00e8re entre la vraie Histoire et ses mythes, le film aurait gagn\u00e9 \u00e0 d\u2019autant plus la flouter et laisser planer le doute sur la version r\u00e9ellement utilis\u00e9e ou pas, et orchestrer ainsi un v\u00e9ritable jeu de trompe-l\u2019\u0153il jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la fin.<\/p><p>\u00ab\u00a0To the Moon\u00a0\u00bb nous offre une mise en sc\u00e8ne clinquante avec une photographie et des d\u00e9cors soign\u00e9s nous replongeant dans les sixties avec ses costumes et coiffures. Le duo Channing Tatum &amp; Scarlett Johansson s\u2019amuse de leurs personnages st\u00e9r\u00e9otyp\u00e9s, jouant ainsi avec leur propre image, tout comme le film lui-m\u00eame qui met en sc\u00e8ne un tournage secret dans un immense hangar de la NASA rappelant ceux d\u2019Hollywood. Si ces parall\u00e8les sont donc int\u00e9ressants, le fond historique tout autant, ainsi que les performances de qualit\u00e9 \u2013 en particulier une Scarlett aux multiples accents entre charme et comique \u2013 le film patine n\u00e9anmoins quelque peu. S\u2019il y a bien quelques sc\u00e8nes dr\u00f4les, il manque tout simplement de moments comiques pour une \u2018com\u00e9die\u2019, et malgr\u00e9 le charme de son histoire et de ses personnages, il manque \u00e9galement de romantisme pour une com\u00e9die \u2018romantique\u2019.<\/p><p>Le probl\u00e8me serait-il alors ce cadre de \u2018com\u00e9die romantique\u2019 ? Tr\u00e8s probablement. Car ce n\u2019est pas que l\u2019alchimie dans le couple ne fonctionne pas du tout ou que les situations ne sont pas comiques, c\u2019est qu\u2019il y a en tout simplement trop peu puisque l\u2019intrigue inclut \u00e9galement toute une dimension plus politique et satirique sur cette course aux \u00e9toiles et \u00e0 l\u2019image. Une histoire entre romantisme et complotisme vraiment tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressante sur le papier mais dont le m\u00e9lange s\u2019av\u00e8re au final difficile \u00e0 homog\u00e9n\u00e9iser. Il n\u2019y a en effet pas de s\u00e9quence \u00e0 proprement parler qui tra\u00eenerait un peu en longueur, car le rythme est stable, c\u2019est simplement que l\u2019intrigue juxtapose plus les deux th\u00e8mes qu\u2019elle n\u2019en fait un tout. Le r\u00e9sultat ? And how on earth did the moon come to be so sexy to everyone? These are questions that blend cold war, image warfare and conspiracy theories&#8230; in short, an unusual and original framework for a rom-com!<\/p><p>With only a few months to go before Apollo 11 launches, NASA is suffering from previous failures and a lack of public interest in the space race. Enter Kelly Jones, a marketing specialist hired by a mysterious agent of Richard Nixon&rsquo;s government (Woody Harrelson) to rekindle interest in the space program. She soon comes up against the cautiousness and rigor of the launch director, until she has to arrange filming for a back-up version if the live broadcast ever fails to work (as the war of image becomes greater than science). And indeed, we&rsquo;ve all heard the claim that man has never walked on the Moon, and that the live broadcast was in fact a highly realistic studio production by the legendary Stanley Kubrick.<\/p><p>After another lovely sentimental comedy (Love, Simon), Greg Berlanti combines here \u2013 from a script by Rose Gilroy \u2013 humor and love in a historical and uchronic tale. Once again, he takes us back behind the scenes of the famous Apollo 11 mission, but in a light, funny style, while adding a modern look at conspiracy, advertising strategies and the ambiguity of visual evidence and its veracity in the face of &lsquo;fakes&rsquo;. While playing on the line between real history and its myths, the film would have benefited from blurring it even more, leaving doubt as to which version was actually used and which wasn&rsquo;t, and thereby creating a true game of deception right up to the end.<\/p><p>\u201cFly me to the Moon\u201d features a flashy staging with carefully crafted cinematography and sets, taking us back to the sixties with its costumes and hairstyles. The Channing Tatum &amp; Scarlett Johansson duo have fun with their stereotypical characters, playing with their own image, as does the film itself, which features a secret shoot in a huge NASA warehouse reminiscent of those in Hollywood. While these parallels are interesting, as is the historical background, and the quality of the performances \u2013 in particular Scarlett&rsquo;s multiple accents between charm and comic relief \u2013 the film nevertheless drags a little. While there are a few funny scenes, it simply lacks comic moments for a &lsquo;comedy&rsquo;, and despite the charm of its story and characters, it also lacks enough romance for a &lsquo;romantic&rsquo; comedy.<\/p><p>Could the problem then be this &lsquo;romantic comedy&rsquo; framework? Most likely. Because it&rsquo;s not that the chemistry in the couple doesn&rsquo;t work at all, or that the situations aren&rsquo;t funny, it&rsquo;s that there&rsquo;s simply too little of it, since the plot also includes a more political and satirical dimension to this race for space and image. On paper, it&rsquo;s a very interesting tale of romance and conspiracy, but in the end the mix proves difficult to blend. Indeed, there&rsquo;s no single sequence that drags on too long, as the pace is quite consistent. It&rsquo;s simply that the plot juxtaposes the two topics more than it unites them. The result? A comedy (a little long for a &lsquo;romcom&rsquo;) that&rsquo;s pleasant and interesting enough, but not memorable, despite <em>Apple Studios<\/em>&lsquo; big budget (close to $100M), which means it continues the studio&rsquo;s run of big productions with no real theatrical success (but at least THEY dare to release them in theaters first, right <em>Netflix<\/em> &amp; <em>Prime<\/em>!).<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">Rapha\u00ebl Sallenave<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section
