Nul besoin ici de chercher une coh\u00e9rence narrative entre les \u00e9pisodes ou m\u00eame d\u2019avoir vu la saison 1 pour appr\u00e9cier cette saison 2.<\/p><p>L\u2019ensemble fonctionne \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re d\u2019un recueil de nouvelles. Projet artistique s\u2019il en est, \u00ab\u00a0Visions\u00a0\u00bb donne \u00e0 voir les infinies possibilit\u00e9s qu\u2019offre la franchise, et notamment la poursuite de projets plus personnels, plus audacieux, dot\u00e9s d\u2019une voix toute singuli\u00e8re.<\/p><p>L\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat de la s\u00e9rie r\u00e9side majoritairement dans la d\u00e9couverte de styles graphiques tr\u00e8s affirm\u00e9s, le format court (18\u2019) imposant de ne pas s\u2019\u00e9pancher sur le d\u00e9veloppement des personnages ou l\u2019originalit\u00e9 de l\u2019intrigue, au profit d\u2019une narration visuelle bien souvent captivante.<\/p><p>Les histoires d\u00e9peintes par les studios de \u00ab\u00a0Visions\u00a0\u00bb apportent une touche unique \u00e0 un univers d\u00e9j\u00e0 bien riche : chaque \u00e9pisode est comme une fen\u00eatre fugace sur la vie de personnages que l\u2019on croise \u00e0 un tournant de leur vie, et qui poursuivront leurs aventures sans nous une fois l\u2019\u00e9pisode achev\u00e9.<\/p><p><strong>Sith \u2013 El Guiri<\/strong><\/p><p>Le studio espagnol nous plonge aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s d\u2019une ancienne apprentie Sith menant la paisible vie d\u2019artiste. Bien qu\u2019aucune parole ne soit \u00e9chang\u00e9e, la.e spectateur.trice comprend imm\u00e9diatement que la pratique de la peinture lui sert \u00e0 exorciser ses d\u00e9mons. Alors que son ancien ma\u00eetre et tortionnaire retrouve sa trace sur une lune d\u00e9serte, l\u2019ancienne apprentie accul\u00e9e est forc\u00e9e de se battre \u2026 Le trait libre et ultra-satur\u00e9 de couleurs \u00e9lectrisantes sert un \u00e9pisode centr\u00e9 sur la lutte quotidienne d\u2019un personnage en proie aux tourments de son pass\u00e9. La lutte entre la lumi\u00e8re et l\u2019obscurit\u00e9 semble ne jamais pouvoir \u00eatre tranch\u00e9e, un \u00e9nergique coup de pinceau d\u2019un bleu vif per\u00e7ant parfois les t\u00e9n\u00e8bres avant d\u2019\u00eatre englouti \u00e0 son tour par un furieux aplat de noir.<\/p><p><strong>La caverne des hurlements \u2013 Cartoon Saloon<\/strong><\/p><p>Tal est pr\u00eate \u00e0 tout pour quitter son abrutissante vie d\u2019ouvri\u00e8re. \u00c0 tout. M\u00eame \u00e0 risquer la vie de ses amis pour accomplir un terrifiant rite initiatique dans une myst\u00e9rieuse caverne dont on raconte qu\u2019elle abrite une sorci\u00e8re \u2026 Ce conte marie \u00e0 merveille folklore celtique et vaisseaux spatiaux, d\u00e9cors inspir\u00e9s de la <em>japanimation<\/em> et crayonn\u00e9s europ\u00e9ens. La ligne elle-m\u00eame semble vibrer au son d\u2019une harpe mal\u00e9fique \u00e0 mesure que Tal s\u2019enfonce \u00e0 la rencontre du c\u00f4t\u00e9 obscur.<\/p><p><strong>Dans les \u00e9toiles \u2013 Punkrobot<\/strong><\/p><p>Deux s\u0153urs orphelines luttent pour survivre sur leur monde natal, plong\u00e9 dans une p\u00e9nombre perp\u00e9tuelle par une raffinerie imp\u00e9riale. Alors qu\u2019un simple ravitaillement en eau tourne \u00e0 la catastrophe, les deux h\u00e9ro\u00efnes saisissent leur chance de reprendre leur destin en main et de pouvoir contempler les cieux de nouveau. Si l\u2019histoire n\u2019a rien de neuf, les caract\u00e8res bien diff\u00e9rents des deux s\u0153urs insufflent une dynamique redoutable \u00e0 cet \u00e9pisode. Constitu\u00e9.e.s de blocs de p\u00e2te \u00e0 modeler, l\u2019animation en simili-Stop motion, les personnages ultra-textur\u00e9.e.s de cette fable na\u00efve ont l\u2019optimisme contagieux.<\/p><p><strong>Je suis ta m\u00e8re \u2013 Aardman Animations<\/strong><\/p><p>Nous avons tous.tes eu honte de nos parents. Le studio \u00e0 l\u2019origine de \u00ab\u00a0Wallace et Groomit\u00a0\u00bb nous raconte avec un humour d\u00e9jant\u00e9 la course folle d\u2019une \u00e9l\u00e8ve-pilote et de sa m\u00e8re pour le moins embarrassante dans sa poubelle \u00e0 r\u00e9acteurs. Bien que la course ne soit pas des plus haletantes, voir ce studio \u00e0 l\u2019\u0153uvre dans l\u2019univers Star Wars reste une sympathique id\u00e9e. Le d\u00e9nouement donne m\u00eame le sourire.<\/p><p><strong>Voyage au bout des t\u00e9n\u00e8bres \u2013 Studio Mir<\/strong><\/p><p>Une pr\u00eatresse de la force entame une exp\u00e9dition risqu\u00e9e pour tenter de faire pencher la balance en faveur du c\u00f4t\u00e9 lumineux. C\u2019\u00e9tait sans compter le retour du n\u00e9m\u00e9sis de son garde du corps, un Jedi t\u00e9n\u00e9breux qui flirte dangereusement avec son c\u00f4t\u00e9 obscur. Le rythme est soutenu, les d\u00e9cors \u00e9piques et les designs int\u00e9ressants, mais les personnages manquent du relief n\u00e9cessaire pour accrocher la.e spectateur.trice.<\/p><p><strong>L\u2019espionne qui dansait \u2013 La Cachette<\/strong><\/p><p>Cocorico, un studio fran\u00e7ais \u00e0 la barre ! Cet \u00e9pisode \u00e0 l\u2019ambiance \u00e9touffante m\u00eale clins d\u2019\u0153il \u00e0 Blade Runner et Art nouveau dans une intrigue qui fait \u00e9cho \u00e0 la vie de Mata Hari. Un danseuse a\u00e9rienne fatigu\u00e9e de jouer son num\u00e9ro pour les troopers imp\u00e9riaux d\u00e9cide de passer \u00e0 l\u2019action lorsque la pr\u00e9sence d\u2019un certain officier attire son regard. Se pourrait-il qu\u2019il s\u2019agisse du m\u00eame officier qui lui a ravi son fils ? C\u00e9dant \u00e0 son d\u00e9sir de vengeance, elle se pr\u00e9cipite le plan savamment orchestr\u00e9 de sa troupe de rebelles. Le trait fluide et gracile met en valeur toute la science du mouvement d\u00e9ploy\u00e9e dans cet \u00e9pisode de haut-vol. Tout, des d\u00e9cors aux costumes, est pens\u00e9 pour servir un twist d\u00e9moniaque digne des plus grands romans d\u2019espionnage.<\/p><p><strong>Les bandits de Golak \u2013 88 pictures<\/strong><\/p><p>Un fr\u00e8re et sa jeune s\u0153ur sensible \u00e0 la force cherchent d\u00e9sesp\u00e9r\u00e9ment un refuge loin d\u2019un inquisiteur imp\u00e9rial. Leur chemin les m\u00e8ne aux confins du d\u00e9sert, dans un rep\u00e8re de crapules et de marchands. Mais m\u00eame \u00e0 l\u2019endroit le plus recul\u00e9 de leur plan\u00e8te, personne n\u2019est \u00e0 l\u2019abri des limiers de l\u2019empereur \u2026 Les combats ultra chor\u00e9graphi\u00e9s d\u00e9peints dans un style r\u00e9aliste un peu lisse sont ex\u00e9cut\u00e9s avec brio. L\u2019histoire est touchante, le d\u00e9nouement d\u00e9chirant.<\/p><p><strong>Le trou \u2013 D\u2019art Shtajio et Lucasfilm LTD<\/strong><\/p><p>Un groupe de prisonniers est laiss\u00e9 pour mort au fond d\u2019une mine de cristaux Kyber. Dans sa tentative d\u2019aller chercher de l\u2019aide, Crux se rend compte que la difficult\u00e9 ne r\u00e9side pas dans l\u2019ascension hors du puit \u2026 mais bien dans la capacit\u00e9 qu\u2019il aura \u00e0 convaincre les citoyens imp\u00e9riaux de ne pas fermer les yeux sur les souffrances inflig\u00e9es \u00e0 leurs semblables. Un dessin japonisant, peut-\u00eatre le plus classique de tous, sert efficacement le rythme de cet \u00e9pisode. Le sens de la pose permet de mieux appr\u00e9cier l\u2019oscillation perp\u00e9tuelle entre espoir et abattement des personnages. Des tableaux riches, fourmillant de d\u00e9tails, nourrissent le regard en attendant la conclusion d\u2019une histoire qui force \u00e0 l\u2019introspection.<\/p><p><strong>La chanson d\u2019Aau \u2013 Triggerfish<\/strong><\/p><p>Les cr\u00e9atures laineuses et d\u00e9cid\u00e9es de cette aventure connaissent les montagnes volantes de leur plan\u00e8te comme leur poche. Plan\u00e8te qu\u2019elles n\u2019ont d\u2019ailleurs jamais quitt\u00e9e. La fille d\u2019un mineur de Crystal Kyber aux \u00e9tranges pouvoirs suit, au m\u00e9pris de la mise en garde paternelle, une voix sirupeuse jusqu\u2019au c\u0153ur d\u2019une riche veine. Son chant entre alors en r\u00e9sonance avec le c\u0153ur de sa plan\u00e8te, combattant l\u2019influence mill\u00e9naire du Sith qui l\u2019avait corrompu \u2026 La douceur communiqu\u00e9e par ces peluches invite au calme. Et m\u00eame si ces montagnes en apparence paisibles abritent un mal ancien, la majest\u00e9 avec laquelle elles sont dessin\u00e9es n\u2019est en rien entam\u00e9e.<\/p><p>La richesse de \u00ab\u00a0Star Wars Visions\u00a0\u00bb, et notamment de cette deuxi\u00e8me saison, honore un univers qui n\u2019a pas son pareil pour faire na\u00eetre en nous l\u2019\u00e9merveillement. There&rsquo;s no need to look for narrative coherence between episodes, or even to have seen season 1 to appreciate season 2.<\/p><p>The whole thing works like a collection of short stories. As an artistic project if ever there was one, \u201cVisions\u201d shows the infinite possibilities offered by the franchise, and in particular the pursuit of more personal, more daring projects with their own singular voices.<\/p><p>Most of the series&rsquo; interest lies in the discovery of highly distinctive graphic styles, with the short format (18&prime;) keeping character development and plot originality to a minimum, in favor of an often-captivating visual narrative.<\/p><p>The stories depicted by the \u201cVisions\u201d studios add a unique touch to an already rich universe: each episode is like a fleeting window on the lives of characters we meet at a turning point in their lives, and who will continue their adventures without us once the episode is over.<\/p><p><strong>Sith \u2013 El Guiri Studios<\/strong><\/p><p>The Spanish studio takes us alongside a former Sith apprentice who enjoys the peaceful life of an artist. Although no words are exchanged, the viewer immediately understands that the practice of painting serves to exorcise her demons. As her former master and torturer tracks her down on a deserted moon, the cornered former apprentice is forced to fight back&#8230; The free, ultra-saturated brushstrokes and electrifying colors drive an episode centered on the daily struggle of a character prey to the torments of her past. The struggle between light and darkness seems never-ending, with an energetic brushstroke of bright blue occasionally piercing the darkness, only to be swallowed up in turn by a furious flood of black.<\/p><p><strong>Screecher\u2019s Reach \u2013 Cartoon Saloon<\/strong><\/p><p>Tal will do anything to leave her mind-numbing working-class life behind. She&rsquo;ll do anything. Even risk the lives of her friends to perform a terrifying initiation rite in a mysterious cave rumored to house a witch&#8230; This tale marries Celtic folklore and spaceships, japanimation-inspired settings and European drawings. The line itself seems to vibrate to the sound of an evil harp as Tal sinks deeper and deeper into the dark side.<\/p><p><strong>In the stars \u2013 Punkrobot<\/strong><\/p><p>Two orphaned sisters struggle to survive on their home world, shrouded in perpetual darkness by an imperial refinery. When a simple water supply turns into a catastrophe, the two heroines seize their chance to take control of their destiny and contemplate the heavens once again. There&rsquo;s nothing new in the story, but the two sisters&rsquo; very different characters give this episode a powerful dynamic. Made of blocks of modeling clay and animated in mock-stop motion, the ultra-textured characters in this na\u00efve fable are contagiously optimistic.<\/p><p><strong>I am your mother \u2013 Aardman Animations<\/strong><\/p><p>We&rsquo;ve all been ashamed of our parents. From the studio behind \u201cWallace and Groomit\u201d comes a wackily tale of a student pilot&rsquo;s mad dash with her embarrassing mother in her jet-powered garbage can. Although the race isn&rsquo;t the most breathtaking, seeing this studio at work in the Star Wars universe is a nice touch. The ending even puts a smile on your face.<\/p><p><strong>Journey to the Dark Head \u2013 Studio Mir<\/strong><\/p><p>A priestess of the force embarks on a risky expedition in an attempt to tip the balance in favor of the light side. But her bodyguard&rsquo;s nemesis returns, a dark Jedi who flirts dangerously with his dark side. The pace is brisk, the scenery epic and the designs interesting, but the characters lack the necessary depth to hook the viewer.<\/p><p><strong>The Spy Dancer \u2013 Studio La Cachette<\/strong><\/p><p>Hooray! A French studio at the helm! This stiflingly atmospheric episode blends nods to Blade Runner and Art Nouveau in a plot that echoes the life of Mata Hari. An aerial dancer tired of performing for imperial troopers decides to take action when the presence of a certain officer catches her eye. Could it be the same officer who took her son away from her? Giving in to her desire for revenge, she rushes ahead with her rebel troop&rsquo;s carefully orchestrated plan. The fluid, graceful lines highlight the mastery of movement deployed in this high-flying episode. Everything, from the sets to the costumes, is designed to serve up a demonic twist worthy of the greatest spy novels.<\/p><p><strong>The Bandits of Golak \u2013 88 pictures<\/strong><\/p><p>A brother and his force-sensitive younger sister desperately seek refuge from an imperial inquisitor. Their path leads them to the edge of the desert, to a den of scoundrels and merchants. But even in the most remote corner of their planet, no one is safe from the Emperor&rsquo;s bloodhounds&#8230; The ultra-choreographed battles, depicted in a somewhat slick, realistic style, are brilliantly executed. The story is touching, the denouement heartbreaking.<\/p><p><strong>The Pit \u2013 D\u2019Art Shtajio and Lucasfilm Ltd<\/strong><\/p><p>A group of prisoners are left for dead at the bottom of a Kyber crystal mine. In his attempt to get help, Crux realizes that the difficulty lies not in climbing out of the pit &#8230; but in convincing Imperial citizens not to turn a blind eye to the suffering inflicted on their fellow human beings. A Japanese-style drawing, perhaps the most traditional of all, effectively sets the pace for this episode. The sense of pose allows us to better appreciate the characters&rsquo; perpetual oscillation between hope and despair. The richly detailed pictures fuel our eyes as we look forward to the conclusion of a story that compels us to introspect.<\/p><p><strong>Aau&rsquo;s song \u2013 Triggerfish<\/strong><\/p><p>The woolly, determined creatures of this adventure know their planet&rsquo;s flying mountains like the back of their hand. A planet they have never left. The daughter of a Crystal Kyber miner with strange powers follows, in defiance of her father&rsquo;s warning, a syrupy voice into the heart of a rich vein. Her song resonates with the heart of her planet, fighting the age-old influence of the Sith who had corrupted it&#8230; The softness imparted by these cuddly toys invites calm. And even if these seemingly peaceful mountains harbor an ancient evil, the majesty with which they are drawn is in no way diminished.<\/p><p>The sheer richness of \u201cStar Wars Visions\u201d, and in particular of this second season, pays tribute to a universe that has no equal when it comes to awakening our sense of wonder. Although interest in the episodes varies according to drawing and storytelling styles, it&rsquo;s nice to see that <em>Disney<\/em> allows such a free, high-quality creative space to exist within its
