Kathryn Bigelow revient cette année avec un nouveau film toujours aussi frappant tant sur le côté social que polémique aux USA. Le sujet : les émeutes survenues à Detroit en 1967 et leur traitement par les policiers blancs.
« Detroit » est un film à la fois prenant et dur, tant sur les images que sur le côté psychologique des personnages. Un film qui pourrait s’apparenter à un documentaire dû au cadrage et au mouvement de caméra tout au long du film mais qui conserve son côté de film unique grâce aux choix de sa réalisatrice sur le scénario et le déroulement du film.
Pour l’occasion Finn (John Boyega) revient d’une galaxie lointaine très lointaine et retrouve Faucon (Anthony Mackie) sans ses ailes pour combattre le racisme avec également l’apparition de John Krasinski.
« Detroit » est un film pur et tout simplement nécessaire.

Kathryn Bigelow returns this year with a new film that is as striking as ever, both socially and controversially, in the US. The subject: the riots that took place in Detroit in 1967 and how they were handled by white police officers.
“Detroit” is a gripping and harsh film, both in terms of its visuals and the psychological aspects of its characters. The framing and camera movement throughout the film give it the feel of a documentary, but the director’s choices regarding the script and the film’s narrative preserve its unique cinematic feel.
The film sees Finn (John Boyega) return from a galaxy far, far away and reunite with Falcon (Anthony Mackie), who has lost his wings, to fight racism, with John Krasinski also making an appearance.
“Detroit” is a powerful and utterly vital film.
