Dessin animé d’origine ou remake ? Robin Williams ou Will Smith ? Qui des deux fait un meilleur Génie ?
Le remake en prises de vues réelles du célèbre classique Disney « Aladdin » sorti il y a deux mois semble en effet être une réussite, autant au box-office qu’artistiquement. Si Guy Ritchie semble sortir de son style habituel dans son dernier film, il n’en réussit pas moins. Les quelques changements apportés à l’original fonctionnent bien et le spectateur rentre facilement dans ce monde. Will Smith confirme une nouvelle fois ses talents et Naomi Scott poursuit son ascension des marches d’Hollywood avec une belle performance autant en tant qu’actrice que chanteuse. Mais la révélation de ce film est bien le rôle-titre interprété par Mena Massoud qui rentre très bien dans son personnage tout au long du film. Au final, on ressort de cette aventure fantastique de bonne humeur et plein de joie. Mission accomplie.
Avec le milliard de dollars de recettes au box-office international à portée de main, une suite de ce remake est plus qu’envisageable chez Disney, mais la question d’une suite originale du célèbre classique qui puisse fonctionner se pose alors.

Original animated film or remake? Robin Williams or Will Smith? Who’s the better Genie?
The remake in live-action of the famous Disney classic « Aladdin » released two months ago seems to be a success, both at the box office and artistically. If Guy Ritchie seems to be getting out of his usual style in his latest film, he is nonetheless succeeding. The few changes made to the original, work pretty well and the viewer easily enters this world. Will Smith once again confirms his talents and Naomi Scott continues to climb the Hollywood steps with a great performance as both an actress and a singer. But the revelation of this film is the title role played by Mena Massoud who fits very well into his character throughout the whole film. In the end, we emerge from this musical fantasy in a good mood and full of joy. Mission accomplished.
With $1 billion in worldwide box office revenue at hand, a sequel to this remake is more than a possibility at Disney, but the question of an original sequel to the famous classic that can be successful is then raised.
